Re: The Bottom Ten, Tuesday Mar 12th 2024

There is also the real possibility that Chester may have already a playoff spot sorted for the last game of the season and play a second string team as the playoffs are played not long after the final game. On the other hand, they could be looking for a finishing position nearer 2 than 7. But I thi...

It looks like Banbury are imploding… and I'd be surprised if they picked up very much at all in the run-in.
Another example of how a few weeks can change things completely. A quote from Banbury’s Unofficial Forum in early February: “As we’re all now confident that Banbury will survive in NLN….”

Re: Darlington v Hereford

Agreed Spenny currently look like one of the teams 'to beat', along with Bishop Stortford, Gloucester and King's Lynn. Could be a little depressing, but is it time for Ginge to start predicting, this time at the wrong end of the table?

Sat surrounded by some friendly KL supporters. Like me, they thought the game had 0-0 written all over it, until… Always interesting to see what the opponents made of us. Without being able to name the players, they singled out Hadfield (involved everywhere and fully committed), Asante (seemed to ha...

Looking forward to Saturday, for what for me is a ‘home’ game. The Linnets demolished us last season, but their fall from grace has been at least as bad as ours. New year, new manager… new start? Could just be.

Hard lines for the King’s Lynn massive but it seems obvious that they don’t chip in like most of us do - hope It doesn’t effect their on pitch performances. 🤭
Or perhaps, on 6th Jan, hope it does 🙂

Re: They don't think much of our chances

We could be out of the relegation zone by Christmas. A point at Banbury and then a couple of wins against Gloucester and Bishop Stortford would do it, provided Lings Lynn lose their games against Warrington and Southport. Unrealistic? Certainly. Impossible? No. I’m all for a bit of optimism in our c...

Marske to Curzon

Is it unusual to have a couple of weeks between the last friendly and the first league game? I see, for example, that both Spenny and Scarborough have fixtures on 25th and 29th July. Couldn’t we find anyone else to play?

What can you say but… that could be a useful point at the end of the season.
I still have some optimism for 6th/7th. I think a lot will depend upon how bothered the mid-table teams are in their remaining games - not just against us, but against the other 4th - 7th place contenders.

Re: The Top 15, Saturday Mar 18th 2023

Looked at with a mixture of optimism and realism, we could hope for 4th place (catching any of the top three seems unachievable to me) and, after a home playoff win, a trip to Chester. Finishing 5th, with an initial home win, would most likely lead to a less exciting trip across the fens to KL. But,...

Kings Lynn manage says Darlington players are giants compered to kings Lynn players. Don't know where he was looking. Unless all his players are 5ft 7in . We have though, at least through my eyes, had a fairly short, average player height for some time. The team definitely looks taller this season ...

Looks like I may need to correct myself. I was relying on last season’s info and should have rechecked. Looks like you buy a standing ticket at the turnstiles; the club’s website doesn’t seem to let you buy them online For seats, the club requests you buy in advance. Sorry for any confusion. I am no...

You had to buy a ticket from one of two windows before you could go through the turnstiles, its was a nightmare, but at least you can buy online tickets now. Yes, don’t get caught out bringing cash for a ticket = not possible. For me, in deepest Norfolk, the nearest I get to a ‘home’ game all seaso...

National League next year. Nothing can stop us now.

Darlo 0 Gloucester 2
AA has to leave. We can’t go on like this.

Something in between makes sense, but I believe we will win on Saturday. Will be tuning in (hopefully) in Menorca.

I know it is early in the season and that a couple of wins will paint a very different picture, but I have a sense that there will be half a dozen or so teams scrabbling to avoid being in the bottom two and that we will be in that mix.

Re: DFC Voted for League to be Null & Void

Although a majority of clubs have voted, begins to look as if some are hanging on, taking advantage of the 28 day period, to see how things develop in the interim. Will be increasingly ‘awkward’ for us (and others) if our beloved NL Committee cannot declare voting results for another couple of weeks...

So am I right in assuming that if, say 80% of NLN teams vote to end the season and 100% of NLS clubs vote to continue, both leagues will continue? My percentages are hypothetical, but you will get the point.
