Re: Omar Holness

Looked him up on Football Manager - he's class on that so we're all good. Central or right mid. Looks comfortable running with ball.

Feels like a proper Hodgy-era left field signing

Should it's written by Harry Pearson, one of my favourite sports writers and author of the Far Corner, absolutely indispensable book on north-east football.

Piece on us in the new When Saturday Comes

As above there's a piece on us in the new WSC, centering on the Southport game. I haven't read it yet but be interesting to see what they make of us.

Re: Harvey Saunders Departs

Fairy ply to him he's definitely markedly improved. Needs to become a slightly more refined player in terms of his technique and first touch, and his movement could use work, but given his pace and work rate can see him making it higher up. Glad we're keeping him for the season as lord knows where w...

Re: New loan signings

Agree about the Barnsley lads, more Smith than Palmer - Palmer has shown glimpses of quality but looked a bit casual in some of his appearances, needs to remember this isn't u-23 football and if he wants to make a career in the professional game he needs to be standing out at this level, he's 21 thi...

Maybe BPA get low crowds because everyone supports city in league one? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk This. Bradford is in a football saturated area and also competes with a strong rugby league following. BPA are always only going to be a fan's second club, they might go when Leeds/Bradford or ...

Re: Where we are after 25 league games

Find this argument that Wright 'failed' in the summer recruitment and can't take credit for loan signings completely baffling. Firstly it's questionable whether he 'failed' with his signings. So far he has three successes in Nicholson, Elliott and Hughes. Three failures in Henshall, Ainge and Burn. ...

Re: Promotion

We need to get rid of the short-termism that is ingrained in the supporters minds. Having a commercial manager who is there to increase revenue streams is not going to have an instant impact. Having an academy that produces saleable assets is not going to have an instant impact. Yes relegation woul...

Re: Luke Trotman

He's our only recognised right back, so there would be a clear impact, especially with our ability to bring in new players expected to be limited to unproven loan signings. This on top of a wafer thin squad, which doesn't appear to have anybody who could fill the role effectively. Of course, any sa...

I think if most fans were asked in the abstract whether they'd rather follow a fan-owned club or one that was owned by (and dependant upon) a wealthy benefactor they'd always choose the former. But I think we're rubbing up against the reality of what that entails now. It makes us exclusively reliant...

Have been lurking on this forum for a while but I'm just going to blather on now and get out all my thoughts on the current situation. The Good Recruitment Firstly I think that some of the criticism Wright is coming in for is unwarranted. His recruitment has largely been good. Styche was a superb si...

Excellent piece on Two Hundred Percent

Really fantastic piece by Ian King over on Two Hundred Percent about the Northern League situation, fantastic level of a insight for a guy that isn't even a fan of the club.

Yeah. Fair enough I appreciate its a bit sentimental and bit down on our current prospects. I left Darlo for Uni the same year the Arena opened, and since then me and Darlo have sort of drifted apart, though I'll still always be Darlo first and foremost. Aye and Im not having a pop at the fans, the ...

How has no-one mentioned Lee Nogan? Came under Reynolds and everyone creamed their keks cos he had a Wales cap but what utter sh*te he was. I honestly don't remember him doing anything, ever, and yet I must have seen at least 30 odd times.

To be honset I'm a little nervous about this whole 'pledge' idea anyway...is this pledge actually binding in any way? Is there anything to stop someone pledging to buy a season ticket now and then (should the season go tits up, or Cooper leave, or whatever), then turn around and say you know what so...

Didnt want that half to end we were getting well on top last five. Senior is looking sharp but we re a bit careless in possession, we need to be a bit more patient in the build up sometimes. Would like to see Gary Smith getting his foot on the ball a bit more. Still we shut them out pretty effective...

Getting an excellent feed here in Germany, sat with a nice pilsener and a big smile on my face. Technology is mint sometimes.

Decent start, though I didnt like the way that winger Till got in behind Brown to cross from the byline early doors. He looks dangerous.
