Boost the budget

One caveat - have we had 700+ separate investors, or 700+ contributions? There’s a difference, as obviously some people might have contributed more than once.

If it’s the first, more than happy to admit I underestimated it.

Re: The Team 20/21 season

Would put Holmes as a wide forward. My guess is Atkinson will play more in midfield than defence, and Hedley would in the first instance be used as a RB, particularly if Armstrong doesn’t bring in a specialist for that position. There’s an account called Non League Guy which has linked us with Sol B...

So no evidence at all. Marvellous, glad to have cleared that one up. We can conclude that it is in fact you who are biased, as your accusations of bias against Stoddart are nothing more than vexatious smears because he doesn’t say what you want him to say. Mr craig bias stoddart sure got nothing wrong. Has he left the paper Biased fan accuses reporter of another club of being biased. You truly are stupid. And a good morning to you too. Re: Northern Echo...get it wrong again

The entire sports desk team were furloughed. Ironically Loughlin was on his way out until the Teesside editor position became available. Now he's treading on the toes of his former sports desk colleagues by doing their work while they are twiddling their thumbs. I mean, in fairness to Loughlin, he ...

Again dreadful & lazy journalism from the Echo. Georgia Banks stating the monies raised for the Boost the Budget was to keep the club afloat because of the Coronavirus. No mention that is was planned long before the Pandemic or that in fact it was to boost the budget of a fan owned club. No wonder ...

I don’t care for your grammar and I couldn’t care less what a halfwit like you thinks of my tone. You rock up on this board trying to shit-stir, then get defensive when people give you some back. No one had “beef” with Gateshead, you’ve made that up. It’s a figment of your imagination. Either that o...

You want some salt as well for that king edward size chip on your shoulder. Should every club be fan owned then? Now there is a thought football clubs entirely funded by their members / supporters and not in the interests of profit and shareholder returns. Doesn't sound too bad does it? Nah, much b...

Re: Boost the budget

Disappointed?! Think you need to give your head a shake. In the normal world we managed to get around 500 to contribute but there are people losing jobs, frightened about future income, worried about a lot more than a non league football club and still we're pushing towards the target. I'm amazed w...

New deal for, Donawa , Hatfield, Rivers, Holmes Hedley

Last season’s players we’re still waiting on: Laing, Storey, Galbraith, Watson, Liddle, Holness, Atkinson, Campbell, Reid, Wheatley. Could also include Lucas Bell, although he played very little part for the first team. If the bulk of those first 10 senior players sign, we probably only need two or ...

All Spennymoor fans know they are bankrolled. They choose to deny it to irritate people, who for some reason need them to publicly acknowledge it, as if that makes any difference. We know it, they know it, lets move on. Uncovered’s biggest contrarian, HarryCharltonsCat, there deciding he can speak ...

Lovely evisceration of Spen by DarloFan97 there. Always nice to see the baldy no-nothing troll put firmly in his box. Trouble is he’s shut him down in just a few posts. Make it go on for 20 increasingly repetitive and tedious pages and then you’ll be in my league. One thing I’ve never understood wit...

Re: Thommo

No problem with Thommo leaving although I thought DFC might have deserved a bit better than a screenshot from his iPhone and then a couple of narky digs in his statement. But from a football point of view no problem. It’s very unusual for a player to stay on reduced terms and I can’t blame him for ...

Re: Thommo

I think Troutman's sell on capacity depends on his commitment / aspirations to get into full time football or to take his football seriously. It wouldn't surprise me if he has other priorities moving forward so football may be a nice top up but I don't know if he will see it as his primary income m...

Armstrong came out and specifically identified Thompson as the kind of player he wanted to work with. From memory this was as soon as he joined. To say Armstrong wasn’t a fan is blatantly untrue. Very few of us will know for definite, but the idea Thompson was offered reduced terms because of the cl...

Hartlepool’s released list is out. Myles Anderson, Fraser Kerr, Michael Raynes, Niko Muir, Jason Kennedy, Adam Bale, Ryan Catterick, Mitch Beeney, and Brooke Miller. As ReeceStyche’sManbun points out, in terms of purely on the pitch, Kerr probably fits what we need. Was certainly pretty reliable at ...

See, this is what happens when you don’t engage your brain properly, and just type the first thing that pops in. Wouldn’t go anywhere near Newton, and Griffiths will end up back at Spennymoor if he does move on. I think from what we have seen from Alun, he likes to sign players which he has worked with in the past at either Blyth or Boro. So if you’re looking at a new right-back he will probably go in for Ale...

I know Connell and Elliott weren’t outstanding, but I draw the line at getting Sunderland ‘keepers from the 1970s.

No need to apologise, I should have been clearer in what I typed - just a little misunderstanding. Bit of a surprise, but that's probably because of what he's achieved. A genuine club legend who was instrumental in our promotions. But when I think on it, it makes sense.
