Re: Darlington V Southport

Disagree on that point Loan_Star. Teams set up pitches which suit their style of play. If Farsley’s game is suited to long ball, whereas ours is about passing on the deck, the pitch is therefore different, in that it suits one team’s style over another. I suppose the question then is, do we have any...

Re: Southport Highlights

On the subject of the referee, the Darlo fans around me thought the ref was giving us nothing and the yellow card he gave Donawa was a poor decision. On the way out of the ground the Southport fans were screaming at the ref that he had given them nothing and had cost them the game. Seems no one was...

Re: Darlington V Southport

Excellent performance today against a side who’ll be top 10 come the end of the season in my opinion which makes it more satisfying than the Kettering win. O’Neil is improving with every game and offers us something our other forwards don’t. And as said so many times before, Hatfield was outstanding...

You can't be full-time without increased income, that means increased attenances and increased corporate hospitality. Good luck growing crowds at a ground where people can't even see once the gate goes over 2500. It will be a even better match day experience when we add another set of railing to pu...

Re: The Areana

Can’t understand the love of Bishop Auckland There is no love of Bishop, not so much love that anyone would rather play in Bishop than Darlington anyway. It's only Darlo Pete saying he'd rather play in Bishop, just to be controversial. I don't think I'm being controversial, I'm just expressing my o...

Craig Morley and David Johnston have both stated that within a couple of years we will have exhausted the possibilities of increasing commercial revenue at BM assuming that off-field growth continues and that the Arena will allow much greater off field revenue. I could be wrong, but I think Darlington Albion are now Darlington Town in the Wearside League (our old reserve side).

So if they play on a Saturday, that removes the problem of anyone potentially playing for them on a Sunday.

Why should he keep an opinion to himself? If he’s got one, and it’s genuinely held, I don’t see what’s wrong with expressing that on a message board, designed for that purpose. Too many people seem to want to shut down any criticism whatsoever. I personally disagreed with Laing being described as ab...

Re: Trotman out for the season

You couldn't write it could you. Absolutely devastating news for Luke and the team! As far as what to do, Liddle looks spot on at left back so no sense changing that, and even if we did Galbraith can not be entertained as a full back anymore. He's nowhere near mobile enough to play there at this le...

Not entirely sure why Laing is being singled out by some. Didn’t think he was any better or worse than Galbraith. Come the end of the season, we may look back on this as a reasonable point. Gateshead are a full time team with some really good players for this level. They’re gelling after a lot of ch...

Donawa has never played wing back, and won’t be starting this weekend I’d venture. Liddle or Watson will be moved to RB, or Atkinson could be brought in there if for. AA isn’t about to tear up everything he’s been working on because of an injury to Trotman. Not sure I agree on the “He runs about a l...

To give an indication of how ridiculously open this division will be, only one side (Guiseley) has a 100% record after two games.

Re: Farsley V Darlington Match Thread

I think that pitch was a bit of a one-off at this level, most of them are either decent or acceptable. That was like an over-used park pitch. However it doesn't excuse the schoolboy defending that gift-wrapped them the points. This. Pitch was diabolical, but (I hope) the worst we'll have to play on...

Expectations 19/20

Thing is, we've changed so much this season it's really hard to know what to expect. From last season, only Thompson, Trotman and Galbraith are likely first teamers (if we presume Hatfield and Atkinson are first choice CM pairing over Wheatley). It's a whole new team with a new coaching set up. On t...

Re: Middlesbrough game

Plenty to be cautiously optimistic about, with the usual caveat that pre-season is very different to the league, so shouldn't be taken too seriously. But I do feel Armstrong has assembled a squad he knows what he wants to do with. Will be interesting to see if there's any further movement in terms o...

 I wondered how long it would take grytters to call Rees-Mogg a racist... That term is thrown around so often by the left these days to defame the character of certain people that it's lost all meaning. I don't even take it seriously anymore! It's gotten to the point where I don't see the poin...

I'm saying this now, will take being shot down later.... His pace and movement ...

Love it when lefty/liberals who preach tolerance show their true colours by spouting abuse over things like this. No it doesn’t.

If it’s down to injuries, then that was unforseeable at the time the game was arranged.

I was merely responding to a previous post where he appeared desperate to know our current sales position. Yep, got that. And my point was he has little to crow over, given we’ve sold nearly double Spennymoor’s total. Perhaps I could’ve expressed it a little clearer. But we all know PolarBear and S...

Why would he be overjoyed at us nearly doubling their total?

Giving them away as freebies to your academy players doesn’t count.

Re: Halifax Friendly Now at Blackwell Meadows

Looking at the highlights I think it was Donawa who made the horrendous pass. Also, Atkinson's injury looked more like a metatarsal the way he went down, although it was horribly reminiscent of Sam Muggleton's incident. It was Bascome who made the horrendous pass for the first goal. Out of the tria...

My guess is Armstrong will want another winger/forward, and another midfielder and that’ll be it.
