Re: Season VOIDED

Reflecting on the coin toss idea, 50 years ago Liverpool were tied with Cologne in the European Cup. It went to a third game at Feyenoord's ground, the reds two up but it ended 2-2. Went to a coin toss and big Ron Yeats called tails. The coin stuck on its side so a re toss and the reds went through....

Re: My first game

I've been to Aldershot once to watch Darlington, pretty sure it was around 2009 and we lost. The thing that struck me was the row of drummers, best I've ever heard at a footie ground.

Well done for your stint in that outfit! Good luck and thanks for all your efforts. My visit to a damp Victoria Ground didn't put me off either unlike our auto windscreens trip to Burslem where we nearly froze to death.

Interestingly the whole of the National League South seems to be on. I've just been crammed into a plane with about 250 others, feels more risky than standing in the open air.

Saints were unlucky, three times poor handling when they could have scored. Atmosphere was great, fans around us really unhappy with the ref and it chucked it down. Close game until late on so a very enjoyable night out.

Re: Farewell to Feethams

That was one of the few games we ever managed to get to at Feethams, five of us travelled in our "farewell to Feethams" t shirts and had a great afternoon. We even called in at the Arena and George made a point of coming down to welcome us. Oh if I'd only known then what I know now.....

Re: New kit

Strange how wandering the internet turns things up. I was looking at East Stirlingshire's site (after reading the excellent book "pointless" ) and there is a nifty, different black and white hooped kit with space for the sponsor and the hoops extending on to the sleeves. One for the future?! https:/...

Re: Leamington at home

I suppose if you have a rich benefactor you don't have to worry about funding the travelling teams costs when the games called off. Unlike fan owned clubs who don't have that luxury. It's a shame Spennymoor don't have a forum where we could all log on and take the pxxx when we were bored.

Careful, you're only one step from addicted watching! I avoid all soaps apart from a spell of Hollyoaks when it was filmed about a quarter of a mile away. At least holiday romances rarely last.

Re: Price Of Football (Twitter)

VAR isn't perfect but maybe it's the inconsistency of application and/or the law that needs looking at. I agree it's ridiculous that a toe, shoulder or hand can make it offside but I don't believe there's a conspiracy theory. If there was VAR at Shrewsbury and they'd gone through on a dodgy decision...

I don't think that would ever or has ever put me off going to a game. I'm particularly intrigued with Basford United who I admit I'd never heard of until I was surfing this morning. They hold 1600 so I wonder what promotion would mean for their facilities?

Surely as a fan owned club it's acceptable to politely ask for some breakdown of the figures so comparisons and explanations for decisions can be given? Re: Guiseley

I'm pretty sure on that very wet night at Springfield Park when we lost 3-2 they scored from a free kick around the six yard line given for a back pass. That ground once held 40,000! And Robertson's pass was more of a sideways one yesterday.

Quaker85 thanks, very helpful but I was interested in how many we've taken to games. We seemed to have a good following at Chester but can't see numbers anywhere. Disappointed with today's result but after last season's debacle were clearly much improved and almost 20 points above the relegation pla...

Re: New kit

I've only ever had two shirts, both as birthday presents. I wouldn't buy another so I'm ambivalent about the choice and so won't vote. At least they're all pleasant to look at and not awful like those horrible Arsenal and Coventry tops back in the day. Mind you I like the sky blues two-tone. My wife...
