Re: Chester game....

We missed Hatfield as no one really replaced him. Reid was ineffective in the first half, was playing too high up and didn’t make an impact. Second half he was more central and did better. We let in two soft goals that went straight in without much of a fight. Other than that we pretty much matched ...

Re: BT Sport...

There are several reports out there that confirm the figure, including the Northern Echo. I can find this one from last year on the FA website: http://www.thefa.com/news/2018/nov/12/fa-cup-on-tv-first-round-replays-bt-sport-121118 The TV companies only pay half the fee for replays. No idea what the ...

Re: BT Sport...

The prize fund for getting past the first round is £36k getting a TV game is likely being given the winners prize regardless which is quite nice. We are in a bit of stick and twist with the squad at the moment. We also need to pay out on our fine for the pitch invasion and various things which ende...

There will be less demand as it is on TV, but no-one will know how big the demand is until people start buying tickets.

Would recommend that anyone wanting a tickets buys in advance and arrives early to reduce congestion on the night!

Re: BT Sport...

Is the gate money split for the replay? If not it could be a tidy sum with the TV money. Not according to Craig Stoddart; "Each club receives £33,750 when chosen for a live TV replay, much-needed money for fan-owned Darlington.". And on The Northern Echo, too: https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news...

Yes well done BBC and well done Alun.

He also said our two internationals would be staying home and playing for us as we only have 14 players available!

Re: Walsall V Darlington FA Cup First Round Proper

As a slight aside to the main gist of this thread I had a look at a young Walsall supporter’s vlog on YouTube. Those of us who were there know how much noise the Darlo supporters made (I am one of the not so vocal older supporters but almost lost my voice yesterday and even now have a slightly sore...

Re: Walsall V Darlington FA Cup First Round Proper

In previous seasons the replays only got 50% of the tv money. Not sure if that is still the case, or why it is the case.

Need to stay off the pitch though. Idiots. Doesn’t help our cause, or chances of getting a tv replay!

Stoddart on Twitter has said:

The attendance is 2,882 with 1,229 of them being Darlington fans.

Just had a report from the ground on BBC scores programme too!

Come on Darlo!!

Do you get much money from the game being on tv in the first round? As that would be another consideration I guess.

Re: Tamworth V Darlington Match Thread

Easy win in the end and should’ve been more but for some (about 5) great saves by their keeper.

Were made to work hard in the first 25 mins and a good penalty save too.

Re: Alfreton V Darlington

I thought the ref was pretty good really. It’s always hard when one of the teams are physical. Obviously some 50/50s they were a bit naughty on, but thought we got our fair share of decisions. Thought Campbell’s misses were going to be our only chances, but we kept going. Also thought second half we...

Also we would have to pay back the money we received in grants to build on BM, this ties us in for a number of years (was it 5?).

This of course has led the denizens of York to be completely up themselves and think they are special. One of the reasons I haven't a lot of time for them, and they nicked The Locomotion. Yes, good point, they did nick The Locomotion - Twats! Anyway, today I have just written a letter to someone in...
