Re: Sports village

Before we went to BM, the rugby club had a proper steward who was replaced by "volunteers" in an effort to reduce overheads. No doubt the bar was not profitable then.

Re: Who will follow Wigan Athletic into administration?

Got to admire the Wigan spirit, fans & players in the face of adversity. Thrashing Hull would have been even sweeter if the fans had been able to see it at their stadium.

If we did get the Arena, let's arrange a friendly with Poolie and let them demolish it for us. Oh and we don't want toilets that block up ;)

Re: Sports village

Can't see any financial support coming from Darlington council and unless the £450k promised to Mowden Park rugby club by Tees Valley mayor for their development had some clause about inclusivity and diversity of sport, I can't see any money coming from that direction. OK, so Rishi Sunak has given a...

Re: Sports village

As we are only tenants, not really our choice to develop BM. Earlier in this thread, there was a suggestion of creating a separate fund dedicated to the purchase of our own ground which seems very sensible. Once we get back to having fans at the game, then we should be kicking off the new fund.

Re: FSA/NLP Survey

Our Secretary is right about FSA needing good data to push forward fans' view. Tell them what you feel is the best way forward, otherwise big business, TV & politicians will carve things up between themselves without regard for the grass roots of the game - fans.

Didn't hear Rishi Sunak mention anything about support for white elephants, so leave DMP to sort the Arena & keep our hands in pockets as finances will get tighter after Covid19.

Re: Who will follow Wigan Athletic into administration?

Au Yeung, tried forcing the club’s UK-based directors to accept responsibility for a £24 million loan used to repay Choi. When the directors refused, Yeung attempted to liquidate the club, before placing it in administration. Obviously he would try any way to strip money out of the club without any ...

Re: Potential new signings

AA is doing the right thing & has got the nucleus of the team for next season sorted. There is no rush for new signings, as several good points already made about play-offs not yet finished, delayed start to season even clubs being forced into cashing in assets to cover financial losses. Could be so...

Re: Increasingly unlikely playoffs

I think it will be very unpredictable as to who goes up. The lockdown will definitely even things up & I think any team in the play-offs could go up. Yes, very hard to pick a winner in fact may even favour those teams involved in the first knockout matches. Apparently there will be a TV Pay as You ...

Re: Who will follow Wigan Athletic into administration?

Looks like the Wigan fiasco is a lot more complicated than Chinese asset strippers. Makes the EFL and its "fit & proper" tests for owners look pathetic. The EFL penalty of a 12 point reduction is actually helping the scammers who probably have a massive bet on that Wigan get relegated. Surely a matt...

Not sure if any of the playoff games will be on TV. Also wonder where York would play, one last game at Bootham Crescent or first at Monk's Cross?

Who will follow Wigan Athletic into administration?

Sadly, Wigan probably won't be the only club to go into administration before the end of this season. I think they could be the first of many, not just due to Covid19 but also some blame can be attached to EFL who allowed Dave Whelan to sell the club to Hong Kong-based International Entertainment Co...

ED JOHNS. The trip to Plymouth train journey was not mentioned, he knew Cooper from his days at the Boro. If you have not heard the interview it is worth a listen on the Darlo website. Yes we did have some really good players in that period, not sure what went wrong, I am sure some experts on here ...

So does that mean the playoffs start with
Altrincham v Chester
Brackley v Gateshead?

Once they all find £50k each it will cost to stage the game, first.

No more uncertainty as teams go back into training & league confirm no relegation (good news for Blyth & Bradford PA). Playoff teams sorted by PPG 2. York City 34 9 5 3 10 4 3 19 9 6 52 28 24 66 81.529 3. Boston United 32 10 3 2 7 4 6 17 7 8 46 32 14 58 76.125 4. Brackley Town 34 8 8 1 8 4 5 16 12 6...

Chester board have delayed their decision until Monday about the playoffs. Perhaps they are watching the progress on BTB as finances are critical. Big risk for all of the clubs involved as only 1 winner & 5 losers who must take a hit on next season's budget

York would have to play at Bootham Crescent as the new ground at Monks Cross would first have to get a safety certificate, which means testing with a mass gathering. Some ideas about TV coverage of projected play-offs generating enough cash to pay for all the "extras" needed to sort Covid issues. It would be interesting to see figures for the current glut of Premier League games & whether any TV company is prepared to pay to televise NLN & NLS level.

Hope if any Darlo needs the money back at the moment they will ask for it - as a fans club we look after each other. Absolutely no issue with folk in need due to Covid issues. Re: Increasingly unlikely playoffs

Would be a bonus if Boston Utd went up through the play-offs as it is like King's Lynn, a helluva way to go for an away game. Equally, Brackley would not be a great loss, although quite a few Darlo exiles in the South do make it to that fixture. Thought Chester were against play-offs due to the cost...
