Re: Josh Heaton

I think AA should give Burn a shot - we are paying his wages after all. We have seen with Tait that he has turned his fortunes around under Watson. With Heaton ultimately he knew he was third choice and I doubt that would have changed for the foreseeable, waiting for an injury to happen. Didn't AA ...

Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup

Is this a cunning plan so they win by default when we don't turn up in time to play?
Probably another way we will not qualify for next round (again)

Re: Josh Heaton

With Laing going off injured & Tez holding his hamstring, Heaton's departure could not have come at a worse time. AA is going to have to come up with something very soon to stop our slide. Defence still leaking like a sieve & lacking goals up front, does not bode well.

Re: Darlo v York

The sooner AA gets his CF the better. Felt really sorry for Campbell who had no support. but still put a good shift in. If the shot that hit their far post had gone in instead of bouncing out, it could have been a totally different result, instead, within minutes York had taken their chance and left...

Re: George Reynolds in Teesside Magistrates Court Today

The ones I remember were Lucas (Raine?) a man with one of the worst jobs in the World, and his illiterate stooge, going round slagging off this person called "Reg Brearley", whoever he might have been. Think he was Darlo Chairman for a while in 1990's, also involved with Sheffield United and St Mir...

Re Hodgie’s pre match Q and A session, I wonder if anyone will quiz him on Singh’s failed takeover attempt and his part in it- or would this prove to be a little controversial. More like Pointless Surely that is hosted by a different Armstrong? Am disappointed our AA is not teaching the lads,...

Where has Heaton gone?
Did we get any money for the transfer or even swapped him for a massive goalscoring CF?

Back in the day we used to have "utility players". Paul Madeley of Leeds United played everywhere except keeper! He wore every shirt 2-11. It's not unusual for players to able to fill different roles. Gary Brown was okay in goal.
Madeley was a better keeper than Sprake!

Time is not on our side with some long term injuries, but at least the international lads may be reinvigourated on their return.

Re: Gloucester V Darlington

Campbell is quite different type of player & does a lot of pressing. So long as he keeps hitting the net regularly, we have to start him in the team. Styche had a selfish streak & not always looking interested but then smashing in a spectacular goal. A bit of a luxury given the money we paid him.

Re: Gloucester V Darlington

Brown's long throw-ins could strike panic into some defences, but if the opposition could keep cool then a long ball would have caught GB upfield so we were sometimes caught on the break. Great servant to the club but we need a new version for the future.

Bascome started, but got a yellow card. Donawa came on as substitute in 90th minute but having got back to 1-1, Bermuda eventually lost to Panama 1-4.

Re: Darlington V Blyth

Somebody out there must have the stats to prove this, but i expect the number of goals scored from long corners this season is about 1. Also feel that several teams have scored in a breakaway after a corner because our backs were stranded upfield.

Re: Ben Hedley

Just hope AA wasn't confused and thought he had signed J Headley the goalscorer. The squad is looking very stretched with long term injuries as well as international call-ups, so AA's hand is being forced to add players.

Re: Small clubs in the north west

Change the constitution to allow a 50% owner. The football league is where darlo belongs, the longer we stay in this league the more likely the next generation of fans will be lost. It requires the fans group to take the plunge and relinquish some control but without it we will slowly wither. Obvio...

Re: Small clubs in the north west

Really feel for Bury fans but can't see that man with a bag full of cash turning up now to save the day. They have shown a lot of guts fighting their corner and will find a way to keep going. Perhaps there is a way of us giving them the benefit of our experiences?
