Re: Darlington V Peterborough Sports
Next week reminds me of our game v Colchester in 89. Not win or bust, but certainly not lose. I say that because Bishops Stortford is one of their games in hand. 89 was roles reversed, as we were on an OK run, but Colchester was on a great run, and we crumbled under the pressure of the occasion. Wi...

Re: Darlington V Peterborough Sports
We would have lost that game over the last 12 months. Watson is getting the best from this group of players and for some of them, we are seeing why Armstrong brought them in, Platt, Lees and Salkeld in particular Yep, Cam Salkeld just keeps getting better as his confidence grows. Really needed some...

On the positive side, no risk of a 10 point deduction for going into administration or Financial Fair Play penalty.

Re: The Bottom Ten, Tuesday Mar 12th 2024
Points on the board are better than games in hand for Banbury given the state of their pitch & internal strife. We just need to keep winning & Steve W plus Terry have the nous to keep us up (with the crowd behind them!)

Re: Blyth V Darlington
Massive win & seemed in control most of the game, apart from last 15 minutes. Credit to Steve W & Terry, in fact the whole team & travelling support. I think we could easily get some of the nail bars in town as sponsors or at least pay for an advertising hoarding at BM.

Re: Needed points minimum
Worried with how knackered they all look. Desperately need some new bodies in but doesn't seem to be any whiff of that. We're a Cedric Main injury away from disaster. I was thinking that about Main yesterday. If he got nobbled we would be in bother. You are forgetting about Asante who is only two m...

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?
Ask any Rochdale fan who are currently in dire financial trouble e.g. need £2M to avoid liquidation. There are now 2 interested parties after an EGM decided to dilute the fans ownership by issuing 9 million new shares but seeking to retain the "golden share" which would allow them to protect the nam...

Re: Darlo V Scunthorpe
Great victory for SW, TM & the club. Everyone played their part to the max, including the big crowd who were behind the lads from the start to finish. Even the seated stand applauded for a throw in after a great tackle. Lot of positive football and high conversion rate of goals to chances & goals we...

Re: Darlo V Scunthorpe
Form table from the last 5 games has us 2nd with 12 points and Scunny 16th with only 5 which is a lot better than it was when we were due to play them originally. The most important thing for me is we don't pick up any more injuries and that our heads don't drop it we do lose, because they are a go...

You know what, when I was looking at Matty warming up, windmilling his arms and flinging them from side to side I thought I was watching Tony Moor! That used to be what he used to do before every game.(Note to younger readers, he was our keeper in the 1960s and quite a good one). Good enough that E...

Isn't the purple Quality Street the one with smooth chocolate outside, runny toffee middle and a nut at the centre? Very apt & may be we could get in a new sponsor - Nestlé or Purplebricks

Surely we have a clause in Sukar's loan that allows him to be recalled when we have a defence crisis?

Re: Curzon V Darlington
Finally got some attacking spirit back in the team with players prepared to go forward instead of the side to side passing game. Lots more chances were created and eventually 3 converted. Whilst Will's rocket is arguably the Goal of the Season, Lees did give our confidence a boost at a vital time th...

Re: Darlington v Buxton
For a long time looked like Buxton would benefit from a stupid mix-up of an OG but eventually with a couple of decent & timely subs, more attacking & forward passes, we were richly rewarded with 2 late goals to give us a glimmer of hope + 3 vital points.

Re: Darlington v Buxton
Looking at the injured list, surely Sukar must be recalled. Having a young GK playing behind a scratch defence does not bode well, yet it is another game that we must win to have any chance of avoiding relegation.

Will be interesting to see the outcome today of EGM at Rochdale FC where they need £2m to avoid going into liquidation. Lower league football is in dire straits (not the musical kind !)

Bang on. Obviously Kev would be at most matches anyway, but he must be putting in 10 hours of graft away from the ground per match he records - decimating his weekend. He also uses up his leave from work to go shit-tips on a Tuesday night. And all of that is before we talk abou8t the fact that his ...

Perhaps Ben Houchen, Corney, Musgrave et al may be looking for a club like us to invest some of the profits from STDC and a new community stadium somewhere up Skerningham? Downside, we would probably have to change our name to Darlo Tees Valley playing at the Gibson Ground.

Re: Darlington v Alfreton 10/02/24
Could have been so different if we had taken the chances we had in first 5mns, but FACT we didn't. Add in yet another poor set of officials and a side who tugged shirts, pushed & pulled, stole 10 yards every throw, simulated injury & timewasted at every opportunity and there was a poor game & poorer...
