Re: New Manager Poll

Chris Wilder was a Sunday League manager at one point and Jose Mourinho was an interpreter. Chris Swales would do as good a job as anybody, as would Nick Gray and Carl Jarrett.

Re: Darlington FC V Curzon Ashton Match Thread

We’ve splashed a fortune on both transfer fees and wages for Styche and Ainge to be our front two. That partnership won’t be changing anytime soon and I fully expect the pair of them will be a handful for any defence they face. We lost the game fair and square, it happens, but some of you lot are s...

Re: Darlington FC V Curzon Ashton Match Thread

I’ve always been curious as to how the players we’ve bought would all fit together, based on yesterday I think Tommy is in the same boat. For me it’s Ainge or Styche not Ainge and Styche. Given Ainge looked like a defender playing up front on Saturday I’d go with Styche with Ainge at the back or on...

Re: Retained List - Official - Caton Transfer Listed

York look to be taking advantage of Gatesheads unstable situation by signing some of their experienced players. There are two young players there I think would thrive and develop under Tommy Wright in Kieran Green and Macaulay Langstaff. Also like Wes York who is the fastest player I have seen on a ...

Re: I've never known a team make such heavy weather of it

Managerial inexperience has just about cost them a play off place. To blow the strong position they were in shows a high degree of complacency, almost like they believed they had the job done. Relegation candidates next season.

Re: Aynsley Pears new keeper

It's certainly not ideal having loan keepers in place. Good Luck to young Pears, hopefully it's a successful loan for both us and him. Irrelevant the fact he plays for Middlesbrough and has represented England at U19 level, this is actually a massive step up for him - Competitive men's football. In ...

Re: Darlington FC v York City FC

If we do go down would the players who are on 2 yr contracts now still fancy being with us if not might be easier to replace them with others It's not a case of would they fancy staying. Most are on lucrative contracts which they would struggle to get elsewhere. It's highly likely crowds would also...

Re: Darlington FC v York City FC

Results and performances since being appointed manager would strongly suggest he's not the man to take us forward. We can not afford to be relegated, questions need to be asked and decisions need to be made.

Tamworth are hesitatant in letting their top marksman go. Told he's contracted until the end of the season so I suppose it's down to Tamworth in that do they cash in now or let him leave on a free in the summer.

Re: Welcome Greg Mills and Luke Trotman

It's a positive sign TW is adding competition and freshening things up. My slight concern is, these signings are Midland based players which means a hell of a lot of travelling. I'm fully aware players do travel at many clubs in the league but 2hrs 30mins is a big ask (5hrs there and back) twice so...

Re: Darlington v Kidderminster

Well its getting fairly late in the day so it looks like Heaton will be our only new signing available to go into the squad for tomorrow. We also have the plus of Brown being passed fit to play. With that in mind, what are people's thoughts on team for tomorrow. I'd go for: Wilczynski Marrs, Brown,...

Time for TW to now stand up and be counted. It's about results, pressure is now on. Don't be silly, TW has been dealt a bad set of players, low on confidence. Our position is nothing to do with TW. Pete, can I ask how he's been dealt a bad set of players, low on confidence? He took this job on know...

Time for TW to now stand up and be counted. It's about results, pressure is now on. He’s had 4 x 2/3 hour training sessions , pressures on as a club but let’s give him chance. Re: Blyth V Darlington FC match thread

I so want TW and AW to prevail and be massive successes for us but........... They need to get this squad sorted sooner rather than later. The honeymoon period only lasts as long as the results on the pitch. They need to be bold and move players on who are deemed not good enough, and replaced with b...

Beck will be a York player as soon as the injury has cleared up. York are not going to pay us £25k - £30k for an injured player who can't play for them immediately, from their perspective it only makes sense for the injury to clear up before proceeding.

Re: Tommy Wright with Alan White as assistant

It's well known Nuneaton are a full time outfit with a very low budget. Most of the players are young who have been in the full time game and been released. It's proven to be a decent platform for players to stay in full time training but on compromised wages. Although we are only prt time, out budg...
