Re: Darlington V Boston

The ball just sticks to him. It doesn’t always look perfectly elegant, but it’s an asset for sure.

Re: Tamworth...

Yeah, it’s a bit dated. I’m sure we will see a terraced away end at Blackwell sometime soon, but I’d hope it’s more like the tinshed than the Tamworth away end. That old style roof is a pain. You can have a decent terrace, and actually be able to see.

Re: Burn Gone

We should not be offering 2 year contracts to anybody, ok Galbraith and Thommo are exceptions but this has been worse than the James Caton saga. If other sides are offering 2 year contracts, then to attract players, Darlington are going to have to either match contract lengths, or pay higher wages ...

Re: Burn Gone

It's really sad that the signing of a Darlington lad should have turned into this awful saga. Whatever the rights and wrongs, thank God it has finally been brought to an end. Sadly, i doubt Lee Clark has a hope. Which is a shame, because it'd be f**king hilarious. He's absolutely useless.

Re: Darlington V Boston

No reason we can't get a result here, in spite of the inevitable Ainge goal. A damned shame we're missing the Bermudan lads. Both have become vital squad players.

I'd go:

.............Connell

Liddle..Laing..Galbraith..Watson

...Holness..Hatfield..Wheatley

....Rivers..O'Neill..Campbell

I'm sorry for him, on a personal level he's a very nice bloke. He may well even be a good coach (i've no idea), but i get the distinct impression he is not a capable football manager. Possibly he went into management too early, and needed some experience as a coach and number 2 first. Hopefully he h...

Re: FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round - Away to Tamworth or Hereford

It won't be us on TV anyway. It's a bad draw sadly. No glamour for sure, and i really don't fancy our chances for whatever reason. That said, i thought we'd contrive to lose to Leamington. So hopefully i'm wrong. It's a long trip as well.

Not even going to give the Mail a click. Trash newspaper. I’m unsurprised, given their dubious relationship with the truth in multiple other areas. Re: Leamington v Darlington

Looks like 4-3-3 / 4-5-1

.............Connell

Hedley Storey Galbraith Liddle

Wheatley Holness Hatfield

O'Neill Campbell Rivers

Interestingly, Elliott is on the bench. Thought Donowa might've done enough to get a start. Come on lads.

He was signed over winter for York while Grey was there, scored once for them, then was sacked after being caught playing sunday league with his mates. We were linked with him around that time too.

Delighted. How was Donowa’s overall contribution? For me, it feels like he should be starting regularly. He is getting there Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk  I've really liked the cameos i've seen from him this season. I think he's making a very good case to be starting regularly.

Re: Gary Martin

There is also implied a possibility that he might get a move to another pro team. I was at Lillestrom in Norway last year. So unless he moves to another league that doesn't break for the winter, then he may be looking for somewhere to play and stay fit over the winter months. It could suit all parti...

Come on lads, it’s not rocket science. The important translation is in the opening post.

He’s been asked if he’s going to play for someone over their winter break, and he’s suggested it will be us.

Re: Leamington or Chasetown

That’s a rubbish tie, isn’t it? Far away, low crowd, and if it’s Leamington, one we are entirely capable of losing. I’ve not much faith in the away form at present, but here is hoping we can pull something off. That money makes a difference.

Re: Darlo v York

O’Neill and Liddle back for the next league match. Thommo on the left to replace Holmes, with O’Neill signrd to play through the middle. Atkinson replaced by Wheatley. Right back signed to cover Trotman’s injury. I think people need to look at the facts. Aye, but. Is the quality of those replacemen...

Re: Darlo v York

No shame in losing this one, it sounds like we've competed, and I suspect they're going to coast the league this year. However, the league situation doesn't look great from losing all those games away that we should not have been losing. Games like this matter less when you're picking up the points ...

Re: Darlo v York

No, but I doubt he was agitating to go, unless he was told he wasn't going to play. The amount of injuries is ridiculous though. We'd have had to play a bunch of 15 year olds last year if this happened.

0-2 now, game over.

That decision to let Heaton go isn't looking great right now. Honestly, i expected us to lose this one, but losing a player we now have no cover for really compounds it.

Re: Darlo v York

For what it's worth, i agree with you that this formation doesn't really fit the current crop of players, and Campbell isn't Styche. Nor is playing that role particularly suited to O'Neills abilities. However, O'Neill in the line leading role would work (imo), with Campbell at the AMC / deep forward...

Re: Darlo v York

Looks like a sulk to me. Observing the above formation is how the team sets up isn't being trendy, or snobbish. It's reflecting the reality in front of your eyes. It's obvious to everyone else. Campbell is the most advanced man, O'Neill is further back. The wingers are more advanced. Just because th...
