Re: Grange Road Sign

.... I totally disagree with, based on what we have been given in terms of details, that we are being ripped off. My only real issue based on the finances is that we shouldn't be giving the rugby club that percentage from sponsorship boards and the like that the football club have secured. They lit...

Re: Grange Road Sign

I'm sure there's a direct correlation between those that incessantly moan about Blackwell and those who think moving back into the white elephant is a good idea. We've worked with, and improved Blackwell since we've been there, and it's a work in progress. Yes, I think the rugby club have been pett...

None more important? Do you actually think your life is more important because of how you voted!?

Not only dim, but selfish as well. What a look.

Re: Grange Road Sign

I’d prefer we worked on getting the ground up to standards, such as working towards a terrace at the empty end.

I was back again on a Friday for the match, and, for all its faults, I still far prefer it to anything we have had since Feethams.

Re: Another summer of change ahead

So I am going to try and avoid the discussion around manager and just talk about players, although the two are intrinsically linked. So I work out we currently have 15 players with a number of those contracts are up at the end of the season and some just not sure about. Goalkeeper Maddison - Clearl...

Ideal world. 6,000. Close to the pitch, relatively steep stands. Opportunity to expand if we really need to. We barely needed 10,000 in the football league.

Re: Step 4 Reorganisation

It all depends on who those midweek games are though, doesn't it? If the extra two teams mean we get, i don't know, for argument sake, South Shields and Scarborough, then they're real money spinners. I think this argument does demonstrate we are extremely unlikely to be worse off (because worst case...

Re: Democracy under threat.

That said, rather than another referendum, i'd sooner we entered an arrangement like the EFTA. Which does all of those things, but leaves the political union. I think it's a compromise, that doesn't require another nasty, hateful vote, and it compensates for some of the (to my mind, more reasonable...

Re: Democracy under threat.

I see there are the usual leaver tantrums going on at great length here. Voting on something a few years down the line doesn't undermine democracy. All of this gesturing and overcompensating is that just about every shoddy promise (i.e. lie) the leave campaign sold to con the electorate has fallen a...

Fulham have a neutral stand, which is usually a scattering of away fans, some home fans, and tourists.

I can't imagine why this one needs segregating.

Re: Next season

Surely the management funds don't come out of the playing budget? Perhaps someone will know for sure, but i would've thought it was two different pots of money entirely. As you won't just have TW & AW, but physios et al to also pay. I'd imagine that's the non playing budget. I think it's been pretty...

Re: Next season

All of which really highlight why we must stay in this league. It's not an easy league to get out of below here. Given South Shields resources, i had expected them to steamroller all comers. You'd favour them in the playoffs, and in reality i'd probably like them to come up for the extra local game ...

Exactly what i meant, but poorly phrased. Had a bit of a mare with the entire thread, to be honest.

Either way, I think we can all relax, and try and hope for some positives in the next few games.

I mean, we only need Ashton to slip up once. It will happen, and even if it doesn't, they're more likely to overtake Guiseley anyway.

Re: Sporting Village

With all due respect, that sort of grass level stuff in rugby (r.e. having 20 odd teams involved), is the equivalent of us hosting a seven a side league, and some kids league stuff. It's a social thing at that level. There's nothing wrong with that, it's not a bad thing, but it's no grand statement....

Contrary to popular belief?? I mean, the statistics are there. I don't think there's an arbitrary definition of what constitutes small or large, but by most peoples measure, 100,000 people is a small town. Towns of that size, with the odd exception, do not need a sports stadium anywhere approaching ...

That's a good read. It looks like he's open to staying next season, so lets see how it goes. It's some nice publicity for the club, and good to see us being proactive in getting some talent into the club, and that we've moved on from whoever Tommy knows from the midlands... It sounds pretty low risk...

Gateshead aren't viable or self sustaining, and slight envy that they continually seem to find a decent owner aside (even though the current lot are shysters, investment from the guy who was at Rochdale at Darlo would be welcomed, I think) they aren't a sustainable football club in their current sta...

I still don't really grasp the concept of it all, or how this is going to bring anything useful. What other sports are going to be played here, in this village exactly, if the football club and cricket club aren't involved? I'm, quite frankly, surprised the council have underwritten this loan. There...
