Re: Home Kit Vote

I quite like the sash tbh. Darlo Plate.

I'll happily have the hoops back the year after though. Keeps all happy. I do think the hoops are our identity, but let's think of this as a wonky hoop.

Maybe the away kit will be hooped. The best one we've had in recent years is the red and black hoop imo.

Re: Home Kit Vote

I actually like 3 tbh. I've no issue with the occasional kit which has either a sash or a single black band for the sake of variety. I really liked the very thin black hoops (Glenwoods Paints) kit. I agree black and white hoops are our identity but to me, these for a year don't dilute that. I only r...

I’m starting to not be. Seasons going nowhere. No way we can claw back up the table with the pile up we have. Constant stop start nonsense of a year.

The kit is mint.

Not much else to add  but I assume that’s the one we didn’t choose in the summer. Some collectors item if the club sell em off.

Re: Southport away postponed

I think PFA membership only covers PL to EFL level. However, the ironic thing about it is many National League players will be ex-PFA members that will have contributed significantly over recent years and also include prospective new members. I'm not saying the PFA should fund testing for National ...

Re: Shorter games ?

Reading through this thread and watching the news has got me wondering about the idea that we might as well scrap this season with the hope that there may be a chance to have a more normal season next year. Some of the chances of getting back to normal will depend on the roll out of the vaccine. Ac...

Suspended until March. You have to think it’s highly unlikely they will complete the season from there.

Are Blyth going to avoid relegation again?

Re: Shorter games ?

Just don’t see this as a solution I’m afraid. In fact, it would make travelling long distances for a shorter game feel even dafter. It’s not a recreational league. Extend the season. It’s the only sensible thing to do.

Re: Southport away postponed

The season needs to be extended. It’s that simple. They need to sit down and agree to basically push the season back at least a month, maybe longer, by eliminating a bunch of midweek games. Those midweek slots can then be used by the ever increasing amount of rearranged fixtures. I’d maybe argue we...

Re: Brackley v Darlo

Spen - Hereford off. Both teams now have cases. I’m not sure how the league is going to sensibly continue without a delay of the season tbh. There’s no mass testing of players. So now those two can’t play at all for two weeks. I wouldn’t be surprised if we either see a break, or, the league need to ...

Re: Boston Game To Be Replayed

Is it a little odd that the club announced the game will take place at Blackwell Meadows? Have we shelved Arena contingency plans? Does the replayed game have to be held at the same venue? Odd one. It doesn’t say the date and ‘at home’, it specifically says Blackwell. Perhaps I’m reading too much in...

Re: Boston Game To Be Replayed

Daft decision. There was no way in the time it took them to score that they would have realised how serious the injury was. Up to the ref to stop play anyway. Correct. Looks like Gramps is having some kind of meltdown. Perhaps Christmas is bringing out the Scrooge in him ! True, but the referee sho...

Re: Jason Ainsley

Yes, the thing with Spennymoor crowds is that they let in a lot of people for next to nothing. I think it’s a laudable goal, making live football affordable, but it must be an almighty burden on their investor. If he’s happy to do it, good for him. Some benevolent chairmen stick with it. It’s not an...

I don’t see why one is banned and one is allowed in tier 3. Because one (retail) supports the livelihoods of X number of people, and would impact the lives of Y number of people if unable to purchase stuff Whereas the other (non league football) supports the livelihoods of <X number of people and w...

Lol so the idea that it is a requirement for the new manager to prefer a direct style of play was in reference to the style of play of their outgoing manager. Spennymoor will do what Spennymoor will do. I don't really care how they fund it beyond correcting some of their supporter base who deny it ...

The R rate is lower than here in London in Darlington... I can't see why it won't be Tier 2. Tbh I think tying going to an appropriately distanced outside stadium to these rankings is absurd. Especially when retail is open. London are expected to go into Tier 3 aren't they? It might be but also the...

Really think they are going to lift the tier before the Christmas free for all? It might be possible we will be allowed fans by then. Tiers are reviewed on the 16th I believe, game is the weekend of the 19th. I note the club have said it will be at Blackwell so maybe we'll allow a few hundred in.

We might end up with an almighty fixture backlog.... I guess it's good from a 'getting fans in' perspective as it'll probably mean more games with at least someone in the ground. It also gives us time to rebuild from that horror show.

I remain convinced that, good as the second goal looks, had their minds not been scrambled by what happened just a couple of minutes earlier he would not have got as far as the box because someone would have made sure he hit the deck before getting that far. His head was an arms length from the ball hence he handled it over Shilton. The keeper presumably thought it was easily his ball and made the judgement based on honesty. Wrongly with hindsight. The blame is with the handball, not Shilton. I think you need to watch it again. Why is he trying to punc...

It could just as easily have been a head as a hand. It was a weak, limp-wristed attempted punch when he should've been catching it. He barely gets off the ground.

I'm not sure why you're trying to suggest I'm saying he was a bad goalkeeper? That doesn't mean he couldn't make an individual error.

I'm not sure how him having lots of caps erases the mistake? Much like I don't think Maradona's career isn't erased by one act of cheating. Any keeper worth their salt catches that with confidence. He aims a half-hearted punch at a floating ball. Timid and pathetic is entirely fair, he was outjumped...
