Re: Wilson Kneeshaw

I see him as a creative player, not a goal scorer. Hopefully lets see him over a season. I think he offers more in all around play than Nicholson, but he needs to add some goals to his game for sure. Hopefully in an attacking side, he would do that. Assuming we will play the system AA set Blyth up i...

Re: Wilson Kneeshaw

Would be happy, i think he can easily cut it at this level. I thought he showed enough, along with Holness last year.

Re: Signings

Can't begrudge him his shot at professional football if he goes to York. Is Hemming still on the books at Boro? I don't think they've released their retained list yet. I'd be straight in there if possible.

If they keep him, maybe they'd be open to a seasons loan.

I think we will be looking at the list of released players from the other north east academies with great interest.

Blyth are going to have no one left at this rate....

Re: Gateshead relegated to NLN

He barely played for us, but in the two games I saw he just seemed disinterested. He immediately landed a pro deal in Malta, which makes me think he already had it lined up and was just tossing it off.

Re: Gateshead relegated to NLN

I don't think they'll pay much for the International Stadium. They just rent it, and it's council owned. Their problem is the inability to grow crowds, and i'm sure a huge part of that is the stadium. It's not a good place to watch football. Unfortunately for them, they have absolutely no other opti...

Re: Curtis Main

The guy has had a successful pro career. Of course we were daft to get rid of him when we did.

That he was picked up by Boro and played about 50 games for them should be evidence enough.

Re: Blyth statement

I see the little tizzy about Armstrong leaving has all been forgotten. Face saving exercise, one suspects. As for them moaning he didn't get players signed up for next season, wasn't this because they were slashing his budget, and then only raised about 1k to boost their budget from the fans? I'd be...

Re: Gateshead

Yes i know, i'm just very badly trying to argue that the FA should have some kind of mechanism to protect against these situations. Essentially, i'm saying 'Darlington 1883' should have been allowed to play in the Conference North, and should have been recognised as a continuation of Darlington FC i...

Re: Gateshead

I'm simply saying lets have a more reasoned approach to how these punishments are meted out from the FA's perspective. Yes, we have to have certain rules in place, but also we should, by now, have some new rules for a situation that has become all too common, where by if a fan consortium has to save...

Re: Notes from the fans' forum

Yes, we needed to be in by March, but i dare say the fans would have found the extra money to get it built in such a scenario, and it would have been cheaper in the long run. It'd have created a much better impression as well. Folks moan about BM, but it's miles better than it was when it opened.

Re: Gateshead

You need to be made an example of, they did it with us. Why shouldn’t it happen with Gateshead? Lived beyond their means for years and years, now Heed fans think the world is against them. Not waving ya £20 notes about now. I'd like to see the FA draw a line under 'making an example' of clubs for h...

Re: Blyth statement

It'll end in tears, I reckon. The guy has no experience managing at this level, and i doubt he has the adequate contacts, nor the ability to work within Blyth's budget, which is supposedly quite a bit lower than ours. I think he won't last the season. They might stop on, on the basis that only two s...

Re: Notes from the fans' forum

Yep, pretty much. Although it's not the full amount you need in. We had ourselves to blame for that playoff situation really. Blackwell was completely inadequate with only 250 seats. That stand doubling in size really made a huge difference. I suspect it would've been cheaper if it was done all at t...

Re: Notes from the fans' forum

Not seen a full write-up of last night's FF yet, but there were some good news lines to come out of it. - Between us and one other club for Dan Maguire. AA has alternatives in mind in case he doesn’t join. Maguire has gone with some of our players to Ibiza for a pre-season holiday. - Armstrong is t...

Re: Gateshead

I can't really follow this story, to be honest. I hope it works out for them, but it's ridiculous the FA can't step in at some point. The ownership of a company is determined by the Companies Act and is not something the FA can ignore. Effectively the FA don't have any power re ownership of a compa...

Re: 3 players released

There needs to be better due diligence undertaken in terms of handing out above one year contracts. We might be stuck with Burn on the wage bill next year, and i don't get the sense of even a remote possibility he will come good. Ideally, we need one year with one year options, rather than two years...

Re: Signings

Here’s a left field suggestion for a keeper. Boro have just released Dimi. Settled in the area and owns the Greek place in Boro so probably wants to stay. Think he married a local. He’s old but could probably do a job for a year if he fancies carrying on playing? Became a bit of a cult hero among Bo...

Re: Signings

Maybe he's out of contract at a certain point, and the club need to wait for his existing contract to expire?

Or maybe they're dragging out some of the signings (if the rumours are right he's bringing 3-4) to drag out the feel good feeling, keeping attention on fund raising efforts. It's possible.

Boyes could be a realistic option if Maguire ends up at Spendy. But as i've said in other threats, i'm still hopeful we might get Wilson Kneeshaw back. AA would know him from Blyth, wouldn't he, so i suppose it depends on what relationship they had there. I'm actually excited to see what we come up...

Agreed a few weeks ago to go to Hereford. There’s no way we could afford his wages with new budget. Attraction of AA is he can work wonders with a small budget, hopefully he can but we won’t know until Sept/Oct at the earliest so let’s just get behind him. Presumably Dunphy will come back now the idiots have been dealt with.

I'm happy for them, but still slightly envious we couldn't get someone like Dunphy who wanted to invest in us when the need was desperate. I wonder if he has some long term strategy for them.

I'd trust the club have followed the proper process and procedure with this, so i can't say i'm terribly concerned about it. I'd imagine Armstrong would probably have a decent case to make for resigning there, given it sounds like they're selling off everyone to cut costs. That said, i'd imagine we ...

Re: Signings

Can't blame the lad for that. I wonder if he really did enough to get noticed by a league side though? I hope we've laid out a contract for him, maybe with a clause that we'll let him move on if a full time club in the leagues above comes in for him. I think he's capable of a move up, but he's got t...
