Re: Once the dust settles...
We are hardly going to be able to pull a new stadium out of our backsides at short notice if we somehow managed promotion We wouldn't need to. If we were promoted any time soon we could update BM. The changes needed to stay in NL will obviously cost money but they aren't the cost of a new stadium. ...

It’s also insufficient for promotion to the National League. No it isn't. That was seat gate. We can be promoted to the National League...we would just need to do some work if we got there. Aye, it’s not good enough to stay there, which is what I meant. We are hardly going to be able to pull a new ...

Re: Once the dust settles...
In terms of the playing side of things, I’m not sure huge amounts need to be said, but obviously we need to get this management team here for next season. I do think this will happen, but still, it needs confirming. For me, the stadium issue is a big problem. We haven’t heard anything substantive an...

Re: When Watson and Mitchell took over…
I’d quite like Blyth to stop up, just not at our expense. Hopefully we can get the win on Saturday to keep us up and you lot can produce something, although it doesn’t look terribly likely based on your form and two pretty tough games. I’d certainly far rather we were shot of Rushall given the dista...

Re: Massive credit to Watson and the board
Rushall picking up another win has certainly got me nervy again (although entirely predicted).
Farsley will be fighting on Saturday. It will be a really tough game. Less than a win and we have a very uncomfortably last day coming our way, with tough fixture.

Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Apr 06th 2024
With every year I think it becomes clear the lower leagues need restructuring. I’ve said it before, expand the football league (4 leagues of 20), more sensible regionalisation below that (you might want a 3 way rather than two way split). The pyramid is precious and more and more clubs are running ...

‘Almost certainly’ I’m missing something here. You're almost certainly missing the fact that we're almost certainly staying up. Good lord man, it’s Darlo. Have you gone mad? Is this based on an assumption Blyth will lose twice? (Agree it’s toughest for them but it is not a done deal!) I’ll rest whe...

Re: Massive credit to Watson and the board
‘Almost certainly’ I’m missing something here. We are two points off the drop with two games to go. We are absolutely not there yet. We absolutely must win next week, so we don’t have a nervous final day. A draw might be enough but I wouldn’t want to risk that possibility either. I think Blyth are l...

Re: Darlington V Southport
Wish Rushall would just F off. Ridiculous the run we have put together and it’s still all to play for.
Win next week and I hope we can breathe easier. Would’ve preferred Blyth or Farsley stop up. Obviously not at our expense, worried about that first and foremost.

Re: Easter Monday at Warrington Town
Wish Rushall would F off. If we’d even scraped a draw there somehow (not that we deserved it) we would be a good bit more relaxed. Blyth and Farsley I’d say are in a spot of bother but there’s so much that could still go wrong. I’m very nervous. Delighted we have made it a battle but it would be abs...

Re: Darlington V Chorley
It’s more than a centimetre but yes, also, inches is silly.
Very clearly over the line is enough, no need to add extra distance. It’s a poor, poor decision.
We were always going to lose some games on the run in. Some big home games to come.

Re: Leamington new ground
Saw this thread from Leamington FC on Twitter last night regarding their new ground. Lots to be jealous of, not least the level of support from Warwick District Council. If only DFC could get some real strong local government support behind us and build the football club into the local plan. https:...

Still plenty to fight for, yes. Brutal to lose though. Playing this way it’s inevitable we will lose some games. Hopefully we can win enough to make the difference at the end of the season.

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?
Fully yes. The pipe only restricts at most a third of the away end. We know there is enough space to develop to step 1 standard. Not quite true. It restricts up to half of the away end and also part of the main stand side - it runs diagonal through the stadium footprint. There's a reason the stand ...

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?
That would in theory, but what improvement generates that extra income? If we are going to be there the short-medium term I agree we need to be realistic and try to do *something* while working with the rugby club for their approval as I believe they’ve supposedly said they don’t want us to do anyth...

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24
Sick and tired of saying it but we are asking players to play in positions that don't suit them. Nelson and Main would be best suited in a two up front formation, not all this someone in the hole bollocks that we seem to have persisted with for nearly a year under 3 managers, when it doesn't work w...

Re: Blue card & sin bins
The deterrent of yellow cards hasn’t been enough - primarily because they are not handed out nearly enough or quite often officials don’t hand them out to players already booked as they don’t want the drama. The way around that is normalising it and telling people you’re doing it within the existing...

Re: Blood on hands/heads must roll
Think we are going around in circles here. Ultimately, Armstrong is responsible for his failures, Gowling for his. Decision makers should be responsible for theirs. Tommy Wright - disaster Two year contract extension for AA - disaster Gowling - disaster We’ve then got the ‘dubious’. The stuff I won’...

Re: Blue card & sin bins
I share Postecoglu's view on this. If you introduced it, the absolute shithousery of time-wasting that would ensue in the time the player is 'sin-binned' would be horrendous. For me, the institutionalised time-wasting that has become endemic in the game is absolutely awful and the thing I dislike mo...

Those mentioning that AA was hard done by, and you could be right, but I had heard that he was not really getting involved in the training, and involved in his sons move from Harrogate, (true or not? I dont know), but more importantly for me he looked a down, and a beaten man on the interviews in t...

Re: Blood on hands/heads must roll
Just had a read over some of the twitter fallouts (I lurk rather than post on there). The keeper coach should be shown the door. Regardless of the agreement (and I think that's an insane agreement to have, I don't see how you can masquerade as a coach when you aren't prepared to go to the matches o...
