Re: Rushall v Darlington
Still plenty to fight for, yes. Brutal to lose though. Playing this way it’s inevitable we will lose some games. Hopefully we can win enough to make the difference at the end of the season.

Re: Complacency
Don’t know why but had a feeling.
We can still do it but that’s an awful, awful game to lose.

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?
Fully yes. The pipe only restricts at most a third of the away end. We know there is enough space to develop to step 1 standard. Not quite true. It restricts up to half of the away end and also part of the main stand side - it runs diagonal through the stadium footprint. There's a reason the stand ...

Sort of a shame he never got a goodbye game. Assume he must have an offer lined up somewhere.

Re: What's the point of fan ownership?
That would in theory, but what improvement generates that extra income? If we are going to be there the short-medium term I agree we need to be realistic and try to do *something* while working with the rugby club for their approval as I believe they’ve supposedly said they don’t want us to do anyth...

While I’m, like everyone, blown away by our turnaround in fortunes, are we at risk of complacency here? I’ve noticed a number of people talking like it’s a done deal we are staying up over the past few days…

Also, that vile Hartlepool-ish away kit needs to be consigned to the dustbin of history. Just as much to blame for our relegation as Gowling

Re: Boston v Darlington 20/02/24
Sick and tired of saying it but we are asking players to play in positions that don't suit them. Nelson and Main would be best suited in a two up front formation, not all this someone in the hole bollocks that we seem to have persisted with for nearly a year under 3 managers, when it doesn't work w...

Re: Blue card & sin bins
The deterrent of yellow cards hasn’t been enough - primarily because they are not handed out nearly enough or quite often officials don’t hand them out to players already booked as they don’t want the drama. The way around that is normalising it and telling people you’re doing it within the existing...

Re: Blood on hands/heads must roll
Think we are going around in circles here. Ultimately, Armstrong is responsible for his failures, Gowling for his. Decision makers should be responsible for theirs. Tommy Wright - disaster Two year contract extension for AA - disaster Gowling - disaster We’ve then got the ‘dubious’. The stuff I won’...

Re: Blue card & sin bins
I share Postecoglu's view on this. If you introduced it, the absolute shithousery of time-wasting that would ensue in the time the player is 'sin-binned' would be horrendous. For me, the institutionalised time-wasting that has become endemic in the game is absolutely awful and the thing I dislike mo...

Re: Blood on hands/heads must roll
Those mentioning that AA was hard done by, and you could be right, but I had heard that he was not really getting involved in the training, and involved in his sons move from Harrogate, (true or not? I dont know), but more importantly for me he looked a down, and a beaten man on the interviews in t...

Re: Blood on hands/heads must roll
Just had a read over some of the twitter fallouts (I lurk rather than post on there). The keeper coach should be shown the door. Regardless of the agreement (and I think that's an insane agreement to have, I don't see how you can masquerade as a coach when you aren't prepared to go to the matches o...

Re: Boost the Budget
Think it’s a personal choice tbh. I’m not putting more in personally, as I think the reason we are in this position is poor decisions made by the club management. That’s bad for Watson and it’s nothing like his fault, but I’m personally not ok with bailing out someone else’s mistake. If Watson can w...

Re: Marske United
I don’t really understand that part, surely the right thing to do is limp through to the end of the season with whatever you can put on the field (which probably gets you relegated if you have to cut cloth dramatically) and take the relegation. Pulling out of the league should land you as low in the...

Re: JG sacked
Said it before and I’ll say it again, sacking AA during the season was a crap decision. If we parted in the summer I would have shrugged my shoulders and got on with it. During the season at this level it’s so tough to change things. In that sense, despite thinking he never should’ve had the job in ...

Would Steve Watson want the job? Would Martin Gray? They’re more than likely going to get a relegation on their CV. It’s a complete disaster.

Re: GOWLING OUT
I genuinely believe we would have picked up more points than this current mess. It’s not an insane compliment, given what the results have been. Rehiring him would obviously be bonkers, but I cannot believe the new manager wasn’t mandated to work with what he has, given the circumstances.

Robson has gone back. No improvement at all and probably didn’t do much for the young lads confidence either. An absolute shocker of a loan.

Re: GOWLING OUT
I don’t think anyone is advocating for AA’s return. I would personally either have gone another way preseason *or* allowed this season - perhaps unless we got into a situation with maybe 10 games to go or whatever and we felt an experienced head/motivator would have been useful in a relegation battl...

Re: GOWLING OUT
Yeah, I don't accept the squad was ever that bad. This is a squad that is broadly similar to a side that was topping the table 9 months ago. Mark Beck is not Lionel Messi and Dodds isn't Roberto Carlos. It was (and still is, as a lot are still here) a group of badly organised and motivated players l...

Re: Tommy Taylor
This decision continues to look the worst of all. Taylor is a perfectly solid NLN keeper. Replacing him with a young kid was, and remains, absolutely barmy. The way it has been done has probably also completely undermined Gowling’s authority if he brings him back.

Re: GOWLING OUT
To be honest, I’m very much not at the reactionary end of the fanbase, and I’m that alarmed by Gowling’s changes that if it isn’t prohibitively expensive for the club, I would consider cutting our losses. The entire approach alarms me. This is not how you fight a relegation battle.

Re: GOWLING OUT
But you did say you didn’t want to get rid of Armstrong. He won a pathetic 3 of his last 25 games in charge. The mistake was not getting rid of him at the end of last season, and allowing him to spend a record BTB on poor players. At least then if a new manager was appointed in May/June they could ...

Re: GOWLING OUT
I have approximately 0 faith in this new management team. I am probably biased though, because I didn’t want us to get rid of AA. I think it’s got to be nigh-on desperation to get rid of a manager mid-season at our level. It’s so difficult to rebuild a squad and to change tactics while only seeing p...
