Re: Once the dust settles...

It will, but these things run on tight margins. As the Accrington example highlights, that's not enough alone. I think this falls into 'nice to have' but it won't cover the costs of running a football club. So even if you're gunning for base-level self-sustainability you'll need a sports facility wi...

Re: So who do you want to be relegated Blyth or Farsley>

The sale of Blyth has now been completed so the new owner, Irfan Liaquat, will be able to get on with his ambition to eventually take them into the EFL and all the way up to the Championship. The company that owns Blyth, Winners Worldwide, is said to be involved in luxury hotels and prime real esta...

Re: FA Cup replays scrapped from R1 in 24/25

Boot the Premier League out. They're a separate entity after all. Bet the Championship clubs would love it. The winner still gets a European spot. It's controlled by the English FA after all.

Would be a great watch.

Re: FA Cup replays scrapped from R1 in 24/25

As above. No FA cup replays from R1 next season. Seems to be a decision from the Premier League despite them not being involved in those rounds. Terrible for smaller teams throughout the pyramid who can make a fortune from earning replays at higher placed team grounds. Surely there needs to be addi...

Re: Once the dust settles...

Staying put still doesn't answer the issue about non match day income, or getting all the matchday income that we raise without having it syphoned off to pay the landlords. This is exactly it and the whole point we need our own facilities. DJ had said recently that if we sold out all hospitality, p...

Great news. Hopefully we can continue the good form and push up towards the playoffs next season. Certainly if we replicate our form from the end of this season it is possible.

Re: View from the Board/DJ

My understanding, council have no money to help, interest rates for stadium loan presently too high, a developer we were working with on a potential site (possibly Faverdale) has been beaten or gazumped by another developer who DJ will meet with shortly to see how much they want for earliest 26/27 ...

No, I want Farsley relegated! I just think it probably will be Blyth. Their form is horrendous. Farsley obviously aren’t very good either but have a much easier game of the two.

Of similar size to what we want? Dulwich Hamlet? Sheffield FC?

There’s absolutely loads if you go down the google black hole. Either new developments or current stadium works.

What marks us out is the complete lack of detail.

I have no idea but I find it incredibly strange that literally every other club manages to update their fans on this kind of stuff and the majority aren’t fan owned!

Blyth.

Think it’ll be Farsley though. I don’t dislike either club, I’ve been to both, I just enjoyed Blyth as an away day more. Also, I just want a north east side ahead of a Yorkshire one.

Re: View from the Board/DJ

Aye, it just rubbed me up the wrong way listening to it. To be honest, it feels like there is an air of arrogance about it. We just want to know *something*. I can even deal with it if the honest answer is we just can’t afford it as a football club. Fine. But this kind insider ‘things are going well...

The ground situation is difficult to assess due to various decisions made by the then owners of the land, new owners and it's a big knock back with the negotiations, All in all nobody's able to say anything positive as yet so better to say nothing I think, that way people won't be worrying about it...

Re: Once the dust settles...

We are hardly going to be able to pull a new stadium out of our backsides at short notice if we somehow managed promotion We wouldn't need to. If we were promoted any time soon we could update BM. The changes needed to stay in NL will obviously cost money but they aren't the cost of a new stadium. ...

It’s also insufficient for promotion to the National League. No it isn't. That was seat gate. We can be promoted to the National League...we would just need to do some work if we got there. Re: Once the dust settles...

In terms of the playing side of things, I’m not sure huge amounts need to be said, but obviously we need to get this management team here for next season. I do think this will happen, but still, it needs confirming. For me, the stadium issue is a big problem. We haven’t heard anything substantive an...

Re: When Watson and Mitchell took over…

I’d quite like Blyth to stop up, just not at our expense. Hopefully we can get the win on Saturday to keep us up and you lot can produce something, although it doesn’t look terribly likely based on your form and two pretty tough games. I’d certainly far rather we were shot of Rushall given the dista...

Re: Massive credit to Watson and the board

Rushall picking up another win has certainly got me nervy again (although entirely predicted).

Farsley will be fighting on Saturday. It will be a really tough game. Less than a win and we have a very uncomfortably last day coming our way, with tough fixture.

With every year I think it becomes clear the lower leagues need restructuring. I’ve said it before, expand the football league (4 leagues of 20), more sensible regionalisation below that (you might want a 3 way rather than two way split). The pyramid is precious and more and more clubs are running ...

‘Almost certainly’ I’m missing something here. We are two points off the drop with two games to go. We are absolutely not there yet. We absolutely must win next week, so we don’t have a nervous final day. A draw might be enough but I wouldn’t want to risk that possibility either. I think Blyth are l...

Wish Rushall would just F off. Ridiculous the run we have put together and it’s still all to play for.

Win next week and I hope we can breathe easier. Would’ve preferred Blyth or Farsley stop up. Obviously not at our expense, worried about that first and foremost.

Wish Rushall would F off. If we’d even scraped a draw there somehow (not that we deserved it) we would be a good bit more relaxed. Blyth and Farsley I’d say are in a spot of bother but there’s so much that could still go wrong. I’m very nervous. Delighted we have made it a battle but it would be abs...

It’s more than a centimetre but yes, also, inches is silly.

Very clearly over the line is enough, no need to add extra distance. It’s a poor, poor decision.

We were always going to lose some games on the run in. Some big home games to come.

Still plenty to fight for, yes. Brutal to lose though. Playing this way it’s inevitable we will lose some games. Hopefully we can win enough to make the difference at the end of the season.
