Re: The Team 20/21 season

See Adam Boyes has signed for Marske. Great signing at that level for them. Would have been very nervous signing him that, depending on any kick back on those betting charges he got back in January/February time. That is a major shock, nothing against Marske but this guy was scoring goals for fun p...

Re: The Team 20/21 season

I think Tait is past his best I don't think he is what we are looking for. At 30? Do you judge that on the back of his two games for York against us this season where they conceded once? Some strange comments on here, in particular about Wrightson, and now Tait. It’s all about opinions but the one ...

Alex Pattison, darlo born , currently at Wycombe

Re: The Team 20/21 season

Wrightson isn’t good enough for where we want to be imo. Can’t see that one happening as I’m sure he was out of contract last season and he didn’t end up here which would have been a safer bet Always caused us problems when he played against us, similar type of player to Thommo but if we are seriou...

Possibly I would add Gould and Boyes to that list. Ryan Whitley is contracted until May 2021.
Also disappointed to learn that Adam Wrightson is not Jeff's son.
I just can’t see both keepers staying at York - if Jameson stays they might send Whitley out on loan again ?

Re: The Team 20/21 season

I think Lambert is pretty much nailed on so then we need GK, CB, CF , I’d take any of the below

GK - Jameson , Whitley , Hemmings

CB - Kerr , Tait , Devitt

CF - Maguire , Langstaff , O’Neill

I think if we're going to sign a player in the Hopson mould then it will be Jack Lambert.

From what I’ve heard hopson struggled while on loan at Thornaby at the back end of last season

I don’t see him being in AA’s plans

Re: Boost the budget

Disappointed?! Think you need to give your head a shake. In the normal world we managed to get around 500 to contribute but there are people losing jobs, frightened about future income, worried about a lot more than a non league football club and still we're pushing towards the target. I'm amazed w...

Spenny must be worried that we entice some of their players away with our superior budget.
Maybe we will get Jamie Chandler to return 😅

He’s not good enough to get in our side 😉😂

Don’t be so daft Darlo pay good money out, styche 750, Ainge 750 plus Thompson Galbraith Wheatley 500. If you lot think players are on peanuts you’re even more deluded than I thought. Spennymoor pay nowhere near out of the above and I know that for a fact. I won’t be replying anymore as will just e...

Where's James Montgomery at the moment? I'd be surprised to see him back at nln level, very good keeper.
If you mean the former Gateshead keeper, hes currently at Fylde signed for them last summer from Forest Green.

He signed a 2 year deal with fylde in july 2019

Great keeper

Re: Potential new signings

I know that a couple of years ago, we had a youth keeper that made the bench a few times & was quite highly thought of. Does anybody know if the lad is still with the club & could he step up to be our regular shot stopper? Personally I'd prefer us to have a permanent keeper, rather than rely on a l...

Re: Potential new signings

The bit about speculation I never quite understand is why we covet knackered ex-Boro/Newcastle/Sunderland players such as Tony McMahon. You say knackered others might say experienced. What were Marco Gabbiadini, Gary Bennett, Curtis Fleming, Neil Heaney, Alun Armstrong, Craig Hignett and Martin Gra...

Re: Potential new signings

I don't have a lot of interest in new signings currently, once we know any timelines and what's possible I might. At the minute, we don't know our budget, we don't know when football will start, players don't know what to do. Some players will be happy with signing a contract with us but we don't k...

I think we had a midfielder called Mike Robinson who never played again. If it is the same one he was called Neil Robinson and I see to recall he was a vegan, so didn’t wear leather football boots. Isn’t it odd the things you remember (assuming I’m right of course). Yes it was Neil Robinson, came i...

I think we will see Connell , Elliott , Trotman and Wheatley leave , with reduced terms offered to Galbraith and Thompson I wouldn’t mind us trying to sign Jordan Hunter from Sunderland (currently on loan at South Shields) at right back. I’d also think about signing Hemming on loan from Boro as our ...

To imply players may not be trying because they haven't yet had contract offers is completely disrespectful. We've all seen how genuine and committed the players are. Besides there are options on a lot of them. Also the surge which sent us soaring up the league hardly suggests that. Some players do...

A bit of perspective is needed here. Since early January we've actually played poorly in perhaps one and a half games of the last seven games... 90 minutes today and the second half against Chester. The rest have largely featured good football, spirit, commitment and organisation.

Totally agree

Was there ever talk of building our own stadium on one of the other pitches at Blackwell Meadows? Or have I just imagined this? What a great solution that would be - a nice tidy little ground of our own with a grass pitch. Is that not part of the proposal at the SV? We will be given land to build o...
