Re: More signings pls xoxo

I believe Maguire has concerns over playing time at spennymoor due to the system they play and Taylor currently has that role , also that the offer he has is very much determined on performance related additions

Re: More signings pls xoxo

Literally against all odds if we got Maguire. We can’t pay him what he has been offered or offer him expectation of going up. The only card we have is that Armstrong has managed him and he would get a decent wage but not what he can get elsewhere. Believe he is still in talks with a number of clubs...

Re: Released players

I would look to bring in Turner if we have the opportunity did excellent when he came in and I would also bring in Smith from Barnsley. Not sure if he has been released but word was we were looking to sign him. Yeah I’m sure I heard that Smith was all set to sign in the summer whilst TW was still i...

I think you will see Thompson on the left similar to how AA used Robbie Dale at Blyth

Re: Signings

Boyes could be a realistic option if Maguire ends up at Spendy. But as i've said in other threats, i'm still hopeful we might get Wilson Kneeshaw back. AA would know him from Blyth, wouldn't he, so i suppose it depends on what relationship they had there. I'm actually excited to see what we come up...

I’m probably getting a bit carried away but with speculation from those who appear ‘in the know’ we could have a side similar to this - Hemming Trotman Laing Galbraith Liddle Atkinson Wheatley Rivers Nicholson Thompson Maguire(maybe dreaming on that one) Looks decent enough to me - although perhaps ...

Re: Signings

I shudder to think what would have been said had forums like this been around when Brian Little signed John Borthwick. Pools fans thought he was utter dog turd and yet was our top scorer for two championship winning teams. I must admit that when we signed Gabbiadini I was far from convinced. I saw ...

Re: Signings

Surely they don't need another goalkeeper? They must have some players who will be sick of sitting in the stands as well? Word is that Gould is leaving Spennymoor as his father has been sacked as GK coach at Middlesbrough and the family are relocating. Hence the move for Jameson. Rumours have it th...

Ian Bogie did a cracking job at Gateshead , sure he went to another club when he left them and don't think he lasted long. Not sure where he's been since though.

Paul Thirlwell is a great shout Experience at this level as assistant manager at Harrogate good contacts in the region, already has the required coaching badges, also played at all levels There are plenty of other potential candidates that I wouldn’t mind us considering - Neal Bishop, Chris Swailes,...

If that man stays we will be next seasons Nuneaton.Get him out and we might have a chance of a reasonable BTB for the next manager For me it’s definitely time for a change! can't see that Alfreton would buy Styche for £££ and only give him a contract to the end of the season. He'll be signed up to the end of next season, which means we can't afford him. Also, when people are looking at manager candiates, they need to include managers who can also run an academy. It's ...

If TW and AW do depart who would everyone like as the new manager ? There’s plenty of potential candidates , Neil Aspin, Ian Bogie, Mark Bower along with some names linked prior to TW such as Alun Armstrong and David McGurk I’d personally go for someone like Chris Swailes from Dunston, great coach, ...

It's not a case of being "buttered up" or not - obviously they'd have us because it means more income of top of the potential other income from the SV development. The problem is that a) part of the plan is a 4g pitch, which the football league does not allow currently and maybe never will, and b) ...

Stability comes at a cost, this season has not panned out for a number of reasons we all know what they are, we must regroup and come at it with renewed zest, and vitality next season either with or without Tommy, Having said that I think Tommy should get 8 /10 games next season to see if he's lear...

Harry, do you not agree that we are thin at the back, if we have an injury to Tez or Ainge we only have Burn as cover, that is my point.I am not being negative but stating the obvious. This signing today could be a brilliant one, time will tell but would have preferred a defender. He may be one of our own, as people sing when he comes on, but I wish he wasn't, too lightweight, he's always being pushed off the ball and offers nowt upfront. Really harsh! Tbh I think he needs to go out on loan for some real game time - problem is if he does then we are even lighter in that area...

Well if this one beats the weather atleast they've lost a star player in Haughton who's move to salford. We know they're a capable team as they ripped us apart early in the season under MG. How often in all your years of watching Darlington, Pete, have you seen the keeper replaced? It's very rare and when I look back when we only had one or two substitutes it would always be outfield players. I can't see it being a problem. I'm not Pete but I've seen it a few times and it usually ends...

Darlo should always try to beat the opposition, rather than have some aspiration to somehow win the game.
