Re: Liam Connell New Signing

Connell made a crucial save at 2mns to deny our customary "gift" goal and then again just after we took the lead. Then he directed the defence during their spell of pressure which helped the back four to gain confidence. It lead to a great away win & now AA has a tough decision as to who gets to we...

Re: Gloucester V Darlington

I’d peddle Heaton, Holness, Hedley and get a proper right back and centre forward. If we could get shot of Laing to I would and bring in a new centre back. Watson can cover centre back and full backs and Bascome and Wheatley can cover Atkinson and Hatfield. Not difficult. You would get rid of a pla...

On the pitch: - Top 10 finish - Within touching distance of the playoffs (7th place) to the final few games of the season. - Cup run in either the FA Cup or FA Trophy. Re: Adam Campbell

If you look at our last signing - Jordan Watson - the club mentioned in the article on the official site "after finally receiving clearance from the FA", this was an obvious hint at frustration over how long signings are taking to complete due to waiting for the FA. At the end of the day you can ge...

Re: New signings and outgoings

What if AA can get Ainge playing like he did at Harrogate?. Let's not forget before he came to us he had a couple of good scoring seasons. More than the 12 we've had last season. Keep the faith! We’re 18 months and a serious groin injury from the last time Ainge showed any serious goal-scoring form...

Re: Transfer Rumours

To be fair I don't think Wright ever intended to lean heavily on loans, but he spent the budget on such a small squad of our own players that when injuries struck and we had to offload Stuche and Syers he had no choice. Sounds like Armstrong is thinking along similar lines but is going to try to bu...

I reckon Hopson will happen personally, maybe a couple of the Gateshead lads too (Olley & Tinkler) if they don’t get offers of FT football. As for a striker I’ve got no clue who we could go for
From what I’ve heard Olley and Tinkler will stay full time

What a signing that would be!

I believe Maguire has concerns over playing time at spennymoor due to the system they play and Taylor currently has that role , also that the offer he has is very much determined on performance related additions

Re: More signings pls xoxo

Literally against all odds if we got Maguire. We can’t pay him what he has been offered or offer him expectation of going up. The only card we have is that Armstrong has managed him and he would get a decent wage but not what he can get elsewhere. Believe he is still in talks with a number of clubs...

Re: Signings

Boyes could be a realistic option if Maguire ends up at Spendy. But as i've said in other threats, i'm still hopeful we might get Wilson Kneeshaw back. AA would know him from Blyth, wouldn't he, so i suppose it depends on what relationship they had there. I'm actually excited to see what we come up...

I shudder to think what would have been said had forums like this been around when Brian Little signed John Borthwick. Surely they don't need another goalkeeper? They must have some players who will be sick of sitting in the stands as well? can't see that Alfreton would buy Styche for £££ and only give him a contract to the end of the season. He'll be signed up to the end of next season, which means we can't afford him. It's not a case of being "buttered up" or not - obviously they'd have us because it means more income of top of the potential other income from the SV development. The problem is that a) part of the plan is a 4g pitch, which the football league does not allow currently and maybe never will, and b) ...
