Re: Osagi gone

Was it not the case that when Liddle got injured that AA was set on signing another left sided defender, and since then we have lost Lambert, Holliday, and now Bascome, with Bell on loan. Is this leading to making room for someone else coming in? He has also since got Atkinson back from long-term i...

Re: Elliot and Connel

South Shields got knocked out the FA Trophy to Southport, so Connell could well be available for any FA Trophy ties going forward. Connell couldn’t play last night even if South Shields agreed, because he wasn’t available for the original tie on 14th December. Fully expect Elliott to retain his plac...

Re: Darlington V Gloucester

I actually thought the referee was good yesterday. There were quite a few fouls given to them early on, all definitely were fouls barring maybe one. As for the handball incident, I’ll have to see it back. It’s strange that the linesman - who had a better view of the incident - flagged for a free-kic...

Re: Spennymoor Away

Perimeter fence looks unsafe for use, or to sustain a large crowd with no crush barriers behind, at the Gateshead game a few days earlier. The barrier isn’t secured in place properly and is cable-tied in the corner to the adjoining fencing. Spennymoor announce ticketing arrangements less than 24 hou...

Yep - fence is loose and is also not properly connected to the adjoining fence in the corner.

Well it is, but by a black cable tie!

Shambles.

Re: Spennymoor Away

This is just Spennymoor all over though isn’t it. “It wasn’t us, it was them”. It happens when you claim they’re bank-rolled, it happened with the flag, and now it’s happened again today with providing a dangerous away end. Even with concrete evidence laid out, they won’t admit it. Our fans aren’t s...

Re: Sean Reid Signs!

Really like the look of this signing, attacking midfielder who can play as a striker and is a tall lad as well.Looks like another piece of the jigsaw for AA.When we get Trotman, Atkinson and Holmes fit and playing that will be some squad and hopefully we can add Gary Martin to the squad for a coupl...

Re: Darlington v Gainsborough Trinity FA Trophy

Some don’t understand the work which Campbell puts in for the side, and just what a clever player he is at times. 7 goals & 6 assists before he had to be moved out-wide to balance the side out in the middle. We look like an efficient team, just missing that centre-forward who can do a bit of everyth...

Re: Liam Connell - Boost the Budget

Most people are having a right twist on at South Shields for wanting a fee for a player who is contracted to them and belongs to them now feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but when Phil Turnbull fell out of favour with Tommy wright I don't remember us letting him sign up for the tynesiders free ...

Re: Liam Connell - Boost the Budget

Remarkably disrespectful to the rest of the squad. The emergence of Storey , Liddle occupying his correct position, Hedley having proved more than useful at right back, Wheatley coming back to his best, none of this contributes to our recent improvement or leads to us finishing higher than 13/14th....

Re: Liam Connell - Boost the Budget

Depends if you’re happy with 13th/14th place or not. We all want the club to finish as high as possible but we also have to be sensible with what we spend money on too. Elliott is not a bad keeper but Connell is better on what we have seen. However the deal has to be right for the club and we cant ...

Re: Liam Connell - Boost the Budget

A reasonable fee is fuck all, for a 33 year old who is out of contract in 5 months. If Shields won't extend his loan, or let us sign him for nowt - then they can go and fuck themselves and we'll go back in for him at the end of the season. Obviously I'd like us to sign Connell, but to be fair Ellio...

Re: Darlington V Kidderminster

If you look at our record against teams that actually kept 11 on the pitch under TW, then it is very poor: 13-18-29 That’s a win percentage of 21.66% It was even worse in the 18/19 season, at 20.51%. If you have that over a season you get relegated. Thankfully the opposition kept on getting players ...

I'm pretty sure everybody can agree after witnessing a proper solid, grind it out win last night that this team is like chalk and cheese compared to last season's ragtag bunch of overpaid, fat, pea hearted, fancy dan failures. No wonder AA wanted to fuck virtually everyone of them off - it was't ju...

We're not that Blyth team though. Just because it happened once for Armstrong doesn't make it a certainty it's going to happen again. And we don't have a Maguire. Blyth didn't have a Thompson or a Hatfield. We don’t have Jameson or Maguire. Sounds obvious, but Blyth had a goalkeeper that is probabl...

Just double checked my Curzon Ashton programme according to the team sheet Paul brown was the referee.
It was Nathaniel Cox, he did the York away game last season when he had a shocker.

Paul Brown - think people can judge for themselves.

For what it’s worth, I don’t think the ref had a bad game on Saturday. A few decisions which were not given for both sides but that happens at this level.

What a blow, especially so early on in the season with the games coming thick & fast. I expect Liddle will move over to right-back and Watson will fill-in at left-back. Galbraith can be used to cover LB if needed and Atkinson to cover RB. We really need to get Atkinson & Wheatley somewhere near to f...

God I hate 352. You lose all your attacking width and nobody knows who is marking who.

I'd go...

Elliott
Watson - galbraith - laing - liddle
Atkinson - Hatfield
Thompson - holness - rivers
Campbell
Holness playing just behind Campbell?!

Re: Saturday

AA mentioned in his post-match interview that Donawa has played wing-back before.

3-5-2 could be an option, AA has used this before at Blyth but to shore things up away from home.

I'd like to see a similar shape again. Liddle in for Trotman, O'Neill in for Holmes.
