Re: Back to the Arena

Sports Ground Safety Authority have said that the number of fans attending matches cannot exceed the socially distanced capacity of the ground.

BM is about 700, the Arena is 3,500.

Arena it is.

Re: Team v BPA

The is with one eye on next Sunday, we have to give ourselves the best chance of causing an upset. Why? The league is far more important this year. We aren't going to win the FA Cup, and the big prize for a non league club - an away tie at somewhere like Man U, has lost it's value because there won...

Re: Alfreton...

I think we’re being a bit over-confident for a team that has only kept 2 clean sheets in 10! We played some brilliant stuff on Tuesday night but let’s not get too over-confident, as equally as Tuesday was good, this time last week was equally as bad! Yes but Boston just have quality and experience ...

As great a signing this is, where is the money coming from..... Hard Times yet we seem to be signing top players who aren't guaranteed to start Sent from my EML-L09 using Tapatalk As Andy has mentioned, 3 of our squad are currently on non-contract terms and 2 are on loan where I would expect the ma...

Re: Tyrone O’Neill

So excited by this. The montage of his goals when he was last here shows his talent. Are we really only going to old play one of the three? Feels like a waste but then again squeezing in all our attacking players is a struggle when they are all fit (Rivers, Campbell, Sousa, O'Neill, Maguire and Cha...

Re: Tyrone O’Neill

I think what the signing shows is that it’ll be Charman, Maguire & O’Neill vying for that starting spot upfront with Campbell now moving out wide or in to an attacking midfield position. I think Alun has realised, if he hadn’t already, that after last Saturday we need a centre-forward that sticks on...

Re: EFL Clubs to use up to 5 Subs

EFL seem intent on rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. NL & NLN/NLS can hardly afford to run a 1st team let alone extend a squad to 16 travelling so this would sppear to increase financial stress & spread the physical demands on players. Why are they wasting effort on this instead of equali...

to be distributed by Sport England as low-interest loans. Hummm. I mean with interest rates these days it could be next to no interest, but regardless the capital repayment will be a liability longer term. May need to start thinking about ways to minimise reliance on this if repayable. I'm sure the...

Re: EFL Clubs to use up to 5 Subs

I doubt that anyone has ever pulled a muscle by walking. But aren't you just as likely to get a muscle injury in training as you are playing a proper match? So I don't know whether schedule of fixtures is totally responsible for such injuries. Holness for example was that a muscle injury last night...

Re: EFL Clubs to use up to 5 Subs

If teams are allowed more subs, then inevitably they will need bigger squads, which means less players available as you go down the pyramid. Thus the standard lower down the pyramid decreases and costs to clubs increase as they have to have bigger squads. Would be good if we have 5 subs, if say 2 h...

Really surprised at anyone putting in the Laing/Storey partnership after Saturday. Alun was fairly scathing (for his standards) in his post-match reaction. Re: Darlington V Telford

I have seen a few posts on here saying how poor this player was and how poor that player was. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Well, I have to say in my opinion how poor Liddle was today and last Tuesday. He was responsible for the first goal on Tuesday by leaving his man to get the cross in....

Re: Darlington V Telford

We can't play the same team every week due to the amount of matches. We have to rotate. We have played nine games in six weeks. We've had busier starts to a season. We do not have to rotate yet. When we are flirting with the relegation zone, we should be playing our strongest available team. And th...

AA got his midfield totally wrong today as Gramps said, has to be Omar and Wheatley over Atkinson and Reid any day of the week.Maguire had no service at all but confident he will come good.Storey and Laing at the back is a big concern, their opening goal was a joke and these 2 were at fault.Badly m...

Re: Darlington V Telford

Have to admit I was surprised to see Reid starting to today after his performance on Tuesday night and I was equally as surprised to see him play the full 90 again today. It’s clear we worry about what taking his height out of the team will do to us. Laing has to come out on Tuesday, put Watson or A...

Re: Darlington V Telford

I think Minter will get his first start today.

Minter

McMahon
Storey
Laing
Liddle

Atkinson
Hatfield
Holness

Rivers
Campbell
Sousa

Subs: Saltmer, Hedley, Reid, Hudson, Maguire

That line-up is presuming Charman is injured and Wheatley needs a rest.

Re: Darlington V Telford

I,d suggest 3 in midd field, that is where I thought we were short on Tuesday, maybe I saw it differently but we were unable to get hold of the game and it was a midd field problem I thought, people see the same game and have another take on it, that's my take, Agree, I would put Sousa in an attack...

Re: Darlo v Boston Match Thread

Just watched the highlights now. McMahon and Hunt are wiped out on the ground. It's over 10 seconds between the incident and the goal and around 20 seconds until the game was ultimately stopped. I mean it was 6 seconds between Hunt standing on the guys back and the ball hitting the back of the net....

Re: Darlo v Boston Match Thread

Firstly, I am delighted that Hunt has been given the all clear from the scans which he has had. I believe concussion rules are 7 days from the incident, but no doubt he will require additional time away to recover both physically and mentally from what must have been a distressing situation for both...

Re: Swindon away

The trailing right leg of their defender makes it tight. I think Charman is just offside but I certainly wouldn’t say comfortably offside. On a different day he could well have been given the benefit of the doubt.

I’m pleased we can discuss this issue having won the game!

£35,347 in prize money with a further £8,500 guaranteed from the next round (losers fee). £43,847 in total. In addition to that if we get TV coverage I believe the sum is £75,000 split between the two clubs. I think it’s half the fee this year at £32,500 per club for a match broadcast live on BBC/B...
