Re: Blyth V Darlington
I think our biggest challenge will be keeping hold of Watson! First things first. :D Once he’s kept us up of course! 😂 I don’t think we should give anyone that opportunity, get him to sign on the dotted line. Add Cornish, Platt, Lees and Barrow to that list too, been outstanding of late.

Re: Good luck Steve Watson
Interesting to hear that Watson is still working for Newcastle Academy, could potentially work nicely for us with trying to tie him down for next season.
Apparently talks have already begun on extending his stay.

Re: Kieran Burton
We had enquired about him in the early days of Watson’s reign but Singh was having none of it. Good player on his day but Barrow is another level and equally he’s brought the best out of Lees.My opinion wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 3:38 pmI see Kieran Burton has now joined Chester until the end of the season

Re: Darlo V Scunthorpe
Good to see Asante taking part in the warm down tonight, started full training on Thursday and is hoping to be back soon. The lad gets a lot of stick for the amount he is on but he can’t help his luck with injuries.
He’s keen to help in any way he can in the run in.

You didn’t need to dream!Ghost_Of_1883 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2024 1:56 pmI'd take a point if you offered me it right now.
Follow that up with another point at Spendy, then beat Blyth (who are shite) and Peterborough Sports (is that a sports shop or something?) and that'd be a nice haul.
I daren't even dream about beating Scunthorpe.

Unbelievable tonight. All I’m going to say is get Steve and Terry on contracts for next season, whatever the cost.

It's sounding like his loan will be extended until the end of the season, only bad news (on our behalf) is he's set to go on international duty missing two games but back for Chorley.

Re: More local competition for good players now at Blyth
Just read about the takeover at Blyth and how they are already planning for new players next season. Totally get that it does not guarantee success but my god it helps. So that’s basically every other decent non league club in the N East probably able to offer much better deals than we can. We will...

Who’s contracted for next season? Bar those, I’d probably only want to keep Hatfield if he’s not in the above. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Hatfield , Nelson and possibly Asante. Not sure on Main. Priority for me is ensuring Steve W and Terry M are with us. Can you imagine relegation with no ...

Re: Darlington v Alfreton 10/02/24
They roll around, waste time, break up play, tug shirts, they utilise every trick in the book - not just a few times, but as a fully blown ideology right through a match. Watching them play football is a dull, boring and frustrating afternoon and if I lived in Alfreton I'd rather stay in bang my he...

Great signing, highly regarded at Gateshead and York before his recent injuries.
Mitch Hancox could be the next through the door, a Watson signing for York and looks like his loan will end at Hartlepool on the 6th.

Terry Mitchell will be joining from Workington, knows the north east non-league scene inside out. Solid addition to the backroom staff.

Very very good signing, was tipped to be one of the best prospects to come out of their academy and they have one of the best in the UK.

I’d fully understand if Sukar refused to play but he doesn’t seem that sort of character. Seems a player who will battle so I think he’ll step up.
