Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup

I think we will have a good cup run, we surely due some luck in future cup draws. I cant make this one, ( on a 13 mile charity walk), or the next one, (being positive here😁, as already booked up with a boozy day with friends I don't get to see often, booked that date as when set assumed we would not...

Re: Josh Heaton

We cant afford not to have the money from a cup run, a good run would give AA budget to play with. Without that he will have to run with what we have. A must win game really, I would not take the chance by leaving first teamers out unless they are carrying knocks already.

Re: Darlo v York

I agree I thought Hedley had a really good game overall and Harry is right Hatfield did look frustrated at the end of the game, feel a touch of sympathy for him as I think some one on the forum that he was a non contract player, so these defeats could be costing him a few quid (and the others of cou...

Re: Josh Heaton

With Burn, training by himself after the game, wonder if he feels he will get a chance now to prove "us" wrong. Let's be honest Burn has taken some stick and I am sure AA realises that and impact it can have on a player and the team, (I am not saying Burn played really well, but he did have limited ...

Re: Darlo v York

Thommo had an excellent first half, caused all sort of problems. Faded a bit in second half. I agree Hatfield would have been my man of the match for full game, but don't think anyone had a bad game. Thought Elliott did ok to get to the ball to punch it when it was a dangerous position and up agains...

Re: Darlo v York

Armstrong did say he did not want to put the youngsters on while the team was struggling as it impacts them as young lads, and I think he is right when confidence is low although I would like to see Bell have a run out, especially when Thommo starts to tire later in the game, I quite liked the look ...

Re: Darlo v York

I thought we more than matched them today, a full time team who are unbeaten, and if Rivers or Thommo shots had gone in at 0-0 who knows. York fans I was with thought we had the better chances. Losing laing at 0-0 was a blow and team pre-arranged does not help, especially as Galbraith was also rubbi...

Re: Darlo v York

From friends who are york fans, Southport did the business on them by keeping Ferguson quiet as he appears to be the main provider of goal chances for them, which restricted the opportunities that York had. Could do with McNulty out for another week too as he is the lynch pin for them and an organis...

Re: Gloucester V Darlington

I thought that AA was given £100k less than TW. TW then had boost the budget of £86k, where as AA had boost the budget of £103k so I assume he was at least £80k+ less. Others may have more accurate info than me though, and if people have accurate detail I will bow to there greater knowledge.

Re: Gloucester V Darlington

I think some fans have forgotten that AA started with a budget £100k less than last year if my memory serves me right. We have 2 speedy full backs who could support the centre halves but both are injured. Atkinson and Galbraith both carrying knocks. Holmes who for me looked a good player sidelined t...

Re: Darlington V Blyth

I think we had 16 corners which tells you something about the game. Good to see some shooting from outside the box. Thommo looks a bit short of confidence I thought, so that goal should do him some good. We did look still a bit fragile at times, but with players out long term and some carrying injur...

Would have loved to have gone to this one and had a weekend down there but family commitments all weekend :( . Seriously hard game for the team, but we know the team is capable of pulling it off. Re: Bradford PA...

I thought Bascombe was pretty good. I like the way when he picks up the ball, he is always looking for a forward pass. I personally would've put Omar on for Hatfield, especially after his booking moments before hand. Don't get me wrong I like Bascombe, but on the day did not see him get close to a ...

Re: Bradford PA...

Tez was struggling early on as he looked like he pulled something chasing back with the winger. Bascome I thought was off the pace from the start, and was struggling to keep up with the run of play, (I wondered at the match if he had caught O'Neil illness), and think I may have taken him off earlier...

Re: Southport Highlights

Looking at the highlights, just my view but that was a penalty, Rivers went to get the ball and the lad put his leg right across him and there was contact, fall may be a bit high but Rivers moves fast so may be actual? Also the Southport guy did not complain about it too much other than pointing he ...

Re: Curzon Ashton v Darlo

Played some good football in first 30 mins and were better team and should have scored but our finishing needs to be a little more clinical or luck. They came in it after that and more even game, when they scored it seemed like heads went down a bit another easy goal, we replied with a well worked g...

Re: Gateshead game...

AA is absolutely right! I do find it unusual that some fans make up there mind very quickly on players, and let them know it. At Farsley both Elliott and Laing came in for criticism from some fans, and the same on Wednesday. I even saw someone who looked to be having a go directly at Elliott when he...

Re: Gateshead game...

Last season Blyth were below us at the beginning and then took off, so 5-6 games may not be the tell tale sign for the whole season. For me just seeing how we warm up before and after the game is telling of the professionalism now, and each interview with the players speaks volumes for the passion. ...

Re: Gateshead game...

Liddle's interview was excellent, shows real passion, which we lacked last year. Also note that he said they were training on Monday night, where I think previously if there was mid week game they did not train before hand. Looks like we have a really professional group now both management and playe...

Re: Farsley V Darlington Match Thread

I may be one of the few, who had high hopes for Sat but actually felt it may be a hard game to win, (especially when I saw the length of the grass as well). Thought we started ok, but first goal we dropped back and isolated Cambell, bit of lack of confidence possibly because of the high expectations...

I think the highlights you produce Kev are the best quality ones in this league and the conference. Re: Expectations 19/20

I personally am really looking forward to this season, not because I think we will get promotion, (I think this year is at least a season too early financially for the club), but the football in pre season has been excellent, the movement off the ball was something we missed last season and the team...

Some one mentioned that the rugby club has spent €8k in the close season on the pitch and we have to pay half that. If this is true and it looks like little has actually been done then our club need to challenge the cost as something does not add up (rugby club were supposed to cover the cost of the...
