Re: Southport Highlights

Looking at the highlights, just my view but that was a penalty, Rivers went to get the ball and the lad put his leg right across him and there was contact, fall may be a bit high but Rivers moves fast so may be actual? Also the Southport guy did not complain about it too much other than pointing he ...

Re: Curzon Ashton v Darlo

Played some good football in first 30 mins and were better team and should have scored but our finishing needs to be a little more clinical or luck. They came in it after that and more even game, when they scored it seemed like heads went down a bit another easy goal, we replied with a well worked g...

Re: Gateshead game...

AA is absolutely right! I do find it unusual that some fans make up there mind very quickly on players, and let them know it. At Farsley both Elliott and Laing came in for criticism from some fans, and the same on Wednesday. I even saw someone who looked to be having a go directly at Elliott when he...

Re: Gateshead game...

Last season Blyth were below us at the beginning and then took off, so 5-6 games may not be the tell tale sign for the whole season. For me just seeing how we warm up before and after the game is telling of the professionalism now, and each interview with the players speaks volumes for the passion. ...

Re: Gateshead game...

Liddle's interview was excellent, shows real passion, which we lacked last year. Also note that he said they were training on Monday night, where I think previously if there was mid week game they did not train before hand. Looks like we have a really professional group now both management and playe...

Re: Farsley V Darlington Match Thread

I may be one of the few, who had high hopes for Sat but actually felt it may be a hard game to win, (especially when I saw the length of the grass as well). Thought we started ok, but first goal we dropped back and isolated Cambell, bit of lack of confidence possibly because of the high expectations...

Re: Highlights this season

I think the highlights you produce Kev are the best quality ones in this league and the conference. If you do need finance for equipment, I for one would be willing to donate again, as even though I go to most matches I can't wait to see the highlights, an example being this Saturday I was at the op...

Re: Expectations 19/20

I personally am really looking forward to this season, not because I think we will get promotion, (I think this year is at least a season too early financially for the club), but the football in pre season has been excellent, the movement off the ball was something we missed last season and the team...

Re: BM - Surface

Some one mentioned that the rugby club has spent €8k in the close season on the pitch and we have to pay half that. If this is true and it looks like little has actually been done then our club need to challenge the cost as something does not add up (rugby club were supposed to cover the cost of the...

Re: Harrogate

Really enjoyed the game, didn't think anyone had a poor game. Team full of running till the end and by far the best of the 2 teams in last 25 mins or so. Played some excellent football at times and great goal from Rivers. Agree the trialist Jason Donawa looked really useful, good control, won his he...

Re: Friendly v Darlo Town

And Cameron hall has made a number of excellent saves. The town number 9 looks useful and they have run for everything, certainly deserve to be ahead, while we are on long range shots and pretty passing game at the moment. Plenty of effort but creating nothing and defence getting a bit of a run arou...

Let's hope that the rugby club are not back to being skint again and are making cut backs on things like water (if they are on a meter) and groundsmen time. If they have not being managing money because of us being a cash cow and close season being limited cash flow from us, things like the pitch ma...

I had the hospitality last year at the Motherwell game with my son and a fair few of there fans were up there too, so may well have been a missed opportunity unless the rugby club don't have people available?

Re: New signings and outgoings

Surely we need to temper our expectations this season. AA has made a good start and I believe will build a team that plays for each other and is fit, but he has had to start from the beginning in building for this season, our budget doesn't allow us to compete with a fair number of "local" non leagu...

Re: New signings and outgoings

Wonder where the Trotman rumour came from? If true we do have cover for that position but hope we get a good fee for him and future sell on clauses. He can only get better with more training time, as it would have been limited at Darlo due to the travelling and mid week games (don't think they train...

I had heard the club do charge the accademy players as well. You would think that their commercial people watch our web site for ideas. They have just announced a family, meet the players day on the 13th July.

Re: York City Prices next season

Think the ground already had an agreement to buy on it, believe York received a large amount of money several years ago to have first call on the ground by a major national builder. As you say can't see McGill leaving before the end of next season if ever, but him and his family were big ycfc suppor...

Re: York City Prices next season

Given players they have recently signed, they are really going for it this year including latest signing from Tranmere, budget must be massive compared to ours. The chairman Jason McGill's company having to drop in to sponser the team this year as they did not get a sponser in time, and he rarely go...

Re: Transfer Rumours

Would expect that Fenwick may be one of the ones AA was talking about. Personally would not have liked him in our team. Given Blyth signings now wondering if they are splashing the cash (that they would not give AA), because of fans disquiet and may be want to finish higher than us.
