Re: Jacob Hazel
Also not getting at anyone, it may be a bad decision in the long run. But to state it’s the worst piece of business since being fan owned is a ludicrous statement given his recent show of ability. Especially given the amount of misses Tommy Wright had. Or even Alun, signing defenders like Brandon Ta...

Re: Jacob Hazel
I don’t get the outrage. Yes he was good, particularly last season when arguably we were playing better. Mainly seen as a goal scorer rather than a creative force, I don’t think anyone can argue that. In fact many repeatedly said he performed far better with a big man. Many were talking shite then....

Re: Scunthorpe...
I mean, honestly pre the game on paper what is the expectation as a good result away to Scunthorpe? Arguably what lose by 1 or better = good/great even?. Lose by 2-3 is expected, lose by 4 is bad, and 5 or more is terrible? Granted it’s the attitude of performance, the grit of it, which is as poigna...

Re: Buxton Tuesday February 21st
Looks like Griffiths is expecting contact, but the Buxton player withdraws from the challenge at the last second, and Griffiths trips trying to make contact with the challenge that wasn’t happening. Well played Griffiths ha. That being said, you often get the ones you shouldn’t and don’t get the one...

Re: Southend Away
The transfer window doesn't close until 31 March. If fans want to see more players come in, then they're going to have to show up in numbers over the coming matches because we've had some quite poor gates this season (1,392 v Farsley, 1,321 v Boston, 1,255 v Leamington, 1,274 v Alfreton). I'm not s...

Re: Darlington v Boston 3/09/22
At least from the highlights can see why both controversial decisions were given. Both unfortunate, but arguably Boston going down to 10 men for 45 mins affected them more than us. Still got to take some luck of the green whenever you can, no doubt next week it could easily go the other way, knowing...

Re: Darlington V Alfreton
I think that although Beeden is still growing as a player with their physical nature as a team with players like Matt Rhead up front he’ll be needed. Looking forward to what should be a special moment being back there in person. Can see that element being extra motivation to get a good performance t...

Re: Chester game....
Atkinson mistake for the first sounded like, think most people assumed it’d be a game or two early for his start and holness deserved a start.
Always going to be a difficult one with the midweek game though so free hit really.

Re: Be sure to get a ticket
It makes no sense to raise prices, and loose those floaters moving forwards, bizzare thinking really.... What’s the next home game after the replay, the Gainsborough trinity game? Could be a good opportunity to play some good football, get a win and capitalise on the floating support. Although far t...

Re: Alun Armstrong
Interesting that he says Donawa and Bascombe won't be allowed to go on international duty due to that cup replay. Can a club do that? From my football manager ( the game ) days I thought you can only do that for friendlies. But in competitive games you weren’t allowed to do so as a manager. Not rea...

Re: Walsall V Darlington FA Cup First Round Proper
We clearly have different views of the goal blackwell 64, saying that my eye sight is not brilliant🤓😁. First goal to me looked like connell tried to catch ball, but bounce made it hit his hand rather than him deliberatley push it out, and second I thought it looked like the ball went forward into t...

Re: Walsall V Darlington FA Cup First Round Proper
Have to disagree regarding the two goals, First was difficult due to the bounce, but you should ought to push those round the post or anywhere else apart from to their player. Defence not blameless by any means, but I’d say unless your physically goal side it’s hard to anticipate your keeper to spil...

Re: TW tactics
Overreaction much? Although yes, Tommy as he has said multiple times since he has come in he’d rather win 4-3 as opposed to 1-0. So right off the bat he’s put out his preferred style of play. We have conceded at an alarming rate, but I do think that will improve when various elements of the squad mi...

Re: Darlington FC V Curzon Ashton Match Thread
Missed Turnbull possibly?
The 4-3-3 was going well until they exploited our lack of width. But Curzon kept patient and kept the ball, two things we couldn’t seem to do.
Ultimately a disappointing, and flat performance, against a weaker side.

Re: Phil Turnbull Departs
Have to completely agree with gramps. Turnbull was and always has been someone who has been a conductor from the back of our midfield. Both him and Wheatley are not our attacking threats, but do allow our wingers, and forward players to bomb forward more often than not. So simply saying he didn’t sc...

Re: Supporter Liaison Poll
I do think the viewing when the crowds go above 2,300-2,400 isn’t great for anyone under 6ft, but that’s not an easy solution to fix, terracing at the open end in time possibly, but no point until all this sports hub business is clearer. Other than that a burger van perhaps brought in where the pipe...

Re: Blyth
As many have said since York away in August, Galbraith is a far better centre back than left back. His his composure on the ball from centre back, especially as a left footer, is a massive plus as it allows us to retain the ball far more effectively, and offers an additional passing option from mid...

Re: Harvey Saunders
In all fairness Harvey isn’t improving, despite getting more game time. The potential is obvious to anyone, but when he gets a fairly good run out like today and gets outstrengthed everywhere, doesn’t hold the ball up, and doesn’t contribute much, its... frustrating. Although it’s not his fault with...

Re: Darlington FC V Chorley Match thread
Despite having an extra man we looked on the ropes from that point onwards. Huge difference compared to last couple of seasons where we’d close out games with unrelenting pressure towards the tinshed. Hugely disappointed, but before the game I’d take a draw against a much higher placed team.

Re: Atkinson and Gregan gone
I'd assume the distance Gregan travels to get to Darlington on a regular basis meant that while with Atkinson he was happy to share the load, but with him being sole manager this would mean he possibly would have to move closer, in which longer job security is needed? Just a theory.

Re: Gray gone
The next month or two will be interesting, looking at it optimistically it could be the fresh change we need.
Also it would leave a it of a stain on the end of his tenure if Gray did this without Darlington getting anything especially after his knowledge of the situation ( off the pitch ) at Darlo.

If people pay their money, then they are entitled to boo if they feel inclined to do so. All the people round me said that was the only reason they stayed to the end of the game. In that case you should all feel ashamed of yourselves, have a go for lack of effort yes, but no need to boo.Grow up Pet...

Yes, Beck does look worn out. I think I'm right in saying he's scored one goal! The same as James Caton, and yet Caton picks up most of the criticism . I'd think that is mainly because we know what a huge threat Beck can be if he is on form, Caton hasn't shown us as fans the highest level he can pl...
