Re: FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round - Away to Tamworth or Hereford

Potters Bar v Barnet it is then on the BBC, with York v Stockport on BT Sport. The glamour of Tamworth v Darlo was obviously too much for either of them to handle 8-) A local derby and two ex league teams with a decent fan base so cant fault there decision Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk Nope,...

Re: Ainge

He was OK when it came to heading clear with distance but O'Neill tortured him and the other central defenders. Ainge in general looked a fairly limited central defender who's a bit overly chunky and with no pace. Not missed really, we have better. He was a bit of a menace in our box though. Got on...

Re: Hereford v tamworth

When asked about the Darlington game, the Tamworth management have already said: "We don't fear anyone." They believe they've got a very winnable tie on their own patch. They have nothing to lose now do they. I expect they are confident after beating Hereford and their current league performance wi...

Re: FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round - Away to Tamworth or Hereford

As of now (7:50 Wed) BBC have us away to Hereford... Clueless. FACupfactfile on Twitter got them to chance their cup roundup article for the draw as it was so full of inaccuracies. I wonder if they’ve updated the NLN table to show only two relegation places yet? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round - Away to Tamworth or Hereford

I am sure that I’ve read the BBC getting some stick over northern bias in choice of games in the earlier rounds. Well, people like to have something to complain about. There have been three northern/midlands ties shown and two southern ties - as there have been five rounds so far there was always g...

Re: Leamington v Darlington

The next round I would prefer a home draw against lower league opposition and hope we don't come unstuck. We're then into the first round proper where tv rights come into it and the big money comes into play. Do you then go for a good draw where there is a chance of an upset and the tv is all over ...

I don’t get the competition specific aspect when four cards were in the league and one in the cup. To me, that suggests he’s not suspended for either competition?

Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup

I now recall two home games in two days in the 84-85 promotion season. March 85 I think. Home to Exeter in the league on Saturday and the next day v Halifax in the Freight Rover Trophy. 2-1 and 7-0 wins if memory serves.

Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup

Anybody seen Darlo play twice in two days? I remember two away games in two days at the end of the 85-86 season. Derby and Brentford I think, both defeats?

Re: TheFACup

Good result and through which is what all of us wanted, nice bit of cash coming in as well. Shame we couldn't keep the clean sheet, but with a makeshift CB partnership I think I'll take the win without looking a gift horse in the mouth. Well taken headers from both Thommo and Donawa for their goals...

Stockton gave a good account of themselves going down 1-0 at Guiseley. £10k in the bank for them.

Disappointed with the loss and the injury situation but it’s important to remember that this is a rebuilding exercise and were only in mid September.

Still buy into AA philosophy. Light years ahead of the TW regime.

Definitely competed but I got the impression they were happy to let us have plenty of possession without believing we could hurt them. And so it was. Too professional and organised for us today. They’re destined for higher things. As for us, we have easier battles to fight and win! Sent from my iPho...

Re: Darlo v York

A good all round team performance is a must today. No, points are a must - minimum of 1 required. A good performance and defeat does not bring fans back because stayaways look at the results only and league position only. Unfortunately there is no column in the table for "good performance" I'd take...

It's a shame as I don't think he has been given a fair crack this time around, although the St Mirren stint may have had more of a negative effect on his ability than we thought. As for freeing up funds for a striker, well it does refer to this in the article. Does it? I’ve read it a few times and ...

On his way already according to the Echo.

I was hoping it would be Burn when I saw the headline. Maybe AA needs to free up budget for a striker?

Re: FA Cup

Do we know when the draw is out? Honestly. Can we have a step 9 side at home please, and just try not to do anything stupid. Stockton, Marske, Thornaby or Sunderland RCA ideally, so it might bump the crowd a bit with local interest. If i cared about an interesting tie, i wouldn't mind Scarborough a...
