Re: Jordan Nicholson released

No, why would we? He was mutually released from his contract. He wanted to go, we wanted him off the wage bill.

We can't have it both ways.

The only way to get a fee for him would have been to refuse to cancel his contract.

Re: Jordan Nicholson released

Nicholson's contract was extended by the club when we didn't have a manager - it was nothing to do with AA, and so AA started on day 1 with Nicholson contracted yet wanting to leave

Yeah, but if it's Hopson he used to play for Blyth (and he's not a forward)

Re: Signings

Just shows how Tommy got his signings horribly wrong with his crazy contracts and could even mean not a single player who he signed will be here under AA.With the exception of Trotman and Nicholson who may be leaving through location issues, the others have fallen short. Sent from my moto g(6) play...

Re: Jordan Nicholson released

I think that last sentence sums it up. A load of factors have come together, not the least of which is that Nicholson won't be here next season because he doesn't want to be here next season. The factors probably include that he's got himself sorted with a better option that suits him better. I'm s...

If Hopson signs presumably Nicholson will be off?
So you're pondering Nicholson's future because a fan guessed a name?

Re: Signings

Has Jameson become a decent keeper since he left us? He always was a decent keeper. IMO he was very good in the Evostik and competent in the NLN, even when he started making mistakes. Half of the fan base had an exaggerated dislike of his abilities. It's probably likely that he has improved since t...

Re: Dan Maguire signs!!

I would be quite happy for Amar Purewal to come back. Purewal was out of his depth in the glue league.Certainly not up to our level now. He wasn't out of his depth at all in the Evostik! Maybe the NLN was a step too far but then again he only made a handful of appearances at this level after a long...

Re: Dan Maguire signs!!

Dominic Knowles would be my option - released by Harrogate and his scoring record at NLN level is phenomenal. May be a slight concern around his fitness though so would need to ensure his ankle is up to it - don’t want to end up with another Ainge. Not too dissimilar to Maguire so should fit into A...

He rarely scored for Chelmsford apart from penalties.

At Darlo he was an unfit, immobile, dis-interested plank - we fucked him off within a month.

Re: Gateshead relegated to NLN

Ahem ahem what was the budget for last season, pretty much the same, where did the team finish? I don't know what the budget was last season (though I found out it was 609k the season before). If it was 375k last season as I think you're suggesting, then it is surprising that you managed to fund a ...

Re: Gateshead relegated to NLN

Budget of 375k for next season. First of all that's not going to get you much in terms of full time footballers, secondly they're living in cloud cuckoo land if they think they can generate that sort of budget in any case - unless they have a money man putting six figures in. For context, we can't y...

Re: More signings pls xoxo

Insane numbers that we can’t compete with running a prudent and sensible financial model. I reckon Maguire would have loved to come and play under Armstrong again and with players he’s played with previously, but I personally wouldn’t turn down that offer, got to look after yourself financially. Lo...

Re: Gateshead relegated to NLN

They’re going to be full-time according to the club. There’ve been some noises from the supporters behind the takeover that they’ll be more sustainable, but we’ll wait and see on that one. If they think they are going to be full time and sustainable then they are living in cloud cuckoo land. It is ...
