Re: Simply not good enough

It does feel like a big improvement on last season, but saying that, if we do finish bottom half then it probably isn't. 100k extra added to the bank from a cup run suggests even if we finish midtable it's a massive step forward. Agree with most comments, it's disappointing currently and it was sli...

Re: Simply not good enough

With regards to us being over budget, I’d guess it’s due to the fact we’re paying three long terms absences so have had to bring new players in. We have signed Connell, Storey and Hedley. Say they are on £200 a week each (mid table players wages in this league), sums as follows: £600 a week x 40 we...

It's a common idiom, and entirely normal. But ok, you go off.
Switch it up FFS, no one in the ground says that.

Re: Darlington V Telford

It does seem odd not to use those options when we have them. Holness is a must start for me. Perhaps illness explains it, but then he could've used Bascome to switch it up . He's been criminally underused lately, and he's clearly in form internationally. A switch up would be entirely justified Tues...

Re: Darlington V Telford

Also, going back to Donawa, does he not have 5 goals in all comps, despite having spent half of the season with Bermuda and the other half sitting on our bench.

He can finish (unlike "Cams") that's for sure.

Re: Darlington V Telford

Was that a little bit of a retort by AA in the post-match interview, when he said Justin Donawa didn't impact the 2nd half one little bit. Markedly different words from saying that someone faded a little. Sounds like he's saying 'That's why Donawa doesn't start. I haven’t seen this interview but to...

Re: Darlington V Telford

Tore them apart in the first half with some great football but it unravelled from the moment Campbell's bad mistake handed them the chance to get in behind and cross for a simple first goal (their first effort of note and handed on a plate). Just to point out, they missed two golden chances in the ...

How many points do teams get for size of their following? Mind you when a town is 6 times the size of another you would expect t it to get 6 times the number of fans Yawn Spen, yawn. I'm talking about the amount of fans that we take away compared to our home gates. The percentage is improbably larg...

Re: AFC Wimbledon Problems re Ground & Ownership

Wow, £30 million for a new 9,000 seater stadium? A bit OTT I think. I see that they've raised £20m themselves, which is hugely impressive! £2.5m came from crowdfunding, which dwarves the sorts of figures we've raised towards BM. I'm presuming most of the rest of the money raised came from selling Ki...

They are owned by the very wealthy Darryl Eales, who used to own Oxford United and years ago put in a £30m bid to buy Birmingham City. It's not some kind of incredible romantic fairytale that they are riding high in the National League. It's down to being well-resourced. Well whaddaya know? How abo...

Obviously worried we'll be bringing too many fans to the game. Wonder if they'll bother to make it all ticket for their fans, there's probably no need. What are the average attendances for Spennymoor and Darlington, Irrelevant. It's all ticket because of our improbably large percentage of away fans...

We've won 1 in our last 4 and that win was us scraping home against a team 2nd bottom of the league below. I’m sorry but this is such a selective take, twisted to suit your own viewpoints. We've won 1 in our last 4 and that win was us scraping home against a team 2nd bottom of the league below.
