Re: New initiative by the club 'Virtual Tickets'

Their main initiative is the "leave it to Brad" initiative.

We should copy that and get Brad to keep us going as well.

Re: Our banana munching "friends"

I think the ape abusers are a bit safer than what we were at the time Radged was our chairman. 1 Their crowds are 3,000+, our were just under 2,000 - so there is more income there. 2 I imagine that Vic Park doesn't cost as much to run as the Arena did - so less expense there. More income + less expe...

Re: New initiative by the club 'Virtual Tickets'

My take on the information that accompanied the announcement of the scheme is that if the season resumes in May then the players will need to be paid for an additional month, possibly two. Therefore the additional cost of the players wages would need to be borne by the Club owner. That's a good poi...

Re: The moment we've all been waiting for...

We’re without a doubt more exposed because of the fact we’re heavily reliant on gate income. I don't think it's as bad as you think regarding gate income because more than half of it comes through season ticket holders who have of course paid for the whole season. Regarding total income, obviously ...

Re: Spennymoor Players - Charged with betting offences

Adam Boyes placed over 2,000 bets, I'm thinking that there could be a lengthy ban there. I suppose that's what happens when you're sat on the bench for 2 years and are on good money - get bored, start gambling. And what a team we had wearing it, as well.

Re: Retention for next year

You're basing Atkinson being injury prone on one major recurring injury which has been operated on. No different to Holmes or Trotman receiving major injuries IMO - except their were a bit more serious and longer term. AA really, really, really rates Atkinson so he must be good. We need to get him f...

Re: Retention for next year

Because it’s a well known fact that we exceeded the original playing budget set to bring in the likes of Hedley, Storey, Connell and Martin after the cup run. Since we’re not guaranteed that revenue next season I expect we’ll need to reduce the playing budget from what it is currently to somewhere ...

Re: Retention for next year

Being greedy I'd like us to keep everyone, because no one who has been fit for any length of time has let us down. I think Trotman will likely move on as there is bound to be a more local club interested. I think, sadly, that we will release Holness who I think is a fine player. But as with Bascombe...

I suppose we are reaching the business end of the season - and while I still think we might make the playoffs, i'm not sure winning them is really on the cards. As such, I'm sure the management has one eye on next year, and who stays and who goes in order to push on for next season. Who would you l...

Croft Park, Blyth, is just about as bobbly as you get, it's far worse than BM and has been like that season after season. Have a look at the highlights of any game there. Kettering is a shocker. Bradford PA has been poor in the past but they spent money on it more recently and have now submitted an...

A real shame, I don't know why AA didn't give him more game time.
Because Wheatley, Hatfield, Holness, Reid and Atkinson are considered to be better players?

Hope that helps you work the answer out.

PS Bascombe isn't a bad player though, not knocking the lad at all.

Just heard that budget likely to be lower than this seasons Not sure who sets the budget one person says it’s DFCSG other DJ. DJ was even pondering a full-time hybrid model. That's absolute pie in the sky nonsense, mind. DJ should have kept his gob shut on that one, as he has got a few people's hopes up. I'd hope to see a modest increase in budget especially if we beat the BTB target, but we'd need a very substantial incr...

I'm also confused about this "expected decrease in budget"? Crowds are no lower than last season, and surely this season's budget will have been based partly on those crowds from last season. I mean, I'm not happy with our crowds this season actually, but I can't see gate income being lower than las...

To imply players may not be trying because they haven't yet had contract offers is completely disrespectful. We've all seen how genuine and committed the players are. FFS just stick to the original designs if people moan about the non appearance of hoops then let the DFCSG board stick to their initial decision. I’m actually more bothered about there’s still no DFC sign on Grange Road after 3 years.
