Re: Southport Highlights

It really is every bit as bad a dive for the penalty as i thought it was yesterday. Naughty that. We'd be very angry if that went against us. Nevertheless, we were dominant and deserved the win anyway. Very pleasing to see us pressing so far up the pitch. Why not dive, teams do it to us all the tim...

Re: Darlington V Southport

Do we know how long Liddle is likely to be out for? To be fair I thought we looked just as good when we brought Heaton on and went 3-5-2 with Donawa and Watson as wing backs. If we revert back to 4-4-2 (sorry, 4-2-3-1 for the connoisseurs) and Atkinson is fit, then he's the obvious choice for right ...

Re: Blyth

Going down this year, me thinks. Looking at social media, the fans are turning on Clark already. Squad is completely unprepared to play at this level. Who would have thought bringing in a manager with no knowledge of this level of the game could be a bad idea... It wasn't such a bad idea to bring M...

Re: The Areana

Wasn't it always stated that a 4G pitch is the big money-spinner, which is what Mowden Park intend to lay at the Arena to boost their coffers. But someone else was saying that in the end it wouldn't even be their own ground (nice of the council to buy the ground and bail them out if true!) so how w...

Can’t understand the love of Bishop Auckland There is no love of Bishop, not so much love that anyone would rather play in Bishop than Darlington anyway. It's only Darlo Pete saying he'd rather play in Bishop, just to be controversial. I don't think I'm being controversial, I'm just expressing my o...

Re: The Areana

I have no idea what their players get paid, but under GH we were running a £2m wage bill. Chances of their bill being anywhere near that, are very unlikely. It's only moderate level rugby union, which no one gives a fuck about. I'd bet my life that they have no players picking up 2 and 3 grand a week!

Re: Curzon Ashton v Darlo

I think, last season, it was after Blyth put Atkinson into that deep midfield position that they went on their long unbeaten run so hopefully he will have the same effect for us once he is fit. Talking of Atkinson, I wonder when he will be fit? The club did state that he "might" make the opening fi...

Re: The Areana

Downside is it is horrific, nearly killed the club on more than one occasion, not fit for purpose, may lead to a further reduction in crowd and many more reasons I can’t be bothered to add. The difference is that if we move back as tenants, we won't be responsible to the overall costs of the stadiu...

Re: Curzon Ashton v Darlo

With Thommo no available for Southport game, perhaps a chance to play O'Neill & Campbell as a front pair in a 4-4-2? What you mean like we did on Saturday when Thompson played on the left and Rivers on the right? Looked like a 4-4-2 to me, but people are convincing themselves it was a 4-2-3-1 just ...

Re: The Areana

The council love Mowden and have never done fuck all for DFC. I expect that to continue for ever more. By the way, I'd rather play at the Arena than BM - lesser of two evils - so no anti-moving to the Arena agenda here. I get where you are coming from, and actually agree with you RE the council. Bu...

Re: The Areana

If it's part of the plans for the Sporting Village - i.e temporary until a viable solution is made as part of the plans at the arena then yes. The Sporting Village is going to not only be huge for the town, but for the region - DFC simply can't not be a part of it IMO. It won't be "huge", it's all ...

Re: Darlington V Kettering

That was a great game, only disappointment for me was the crowd of 1,344 - so about 1,300 home fans. Personally I thought we did enough on Wednesday against a very well organised and solid Gateshead team to encourage everyone back on Saturday for another look, but oh well, never mind eh. Those 400 s...

Laing is the new whipping boy I see. Did very little wrong yet his partner alongside him is exempt from any form of criticism. "Error prone" is Laing's middle name. He has a history of giving the ball away, game after game. And we were warned. Hartlepool fans say he was the worst defender they'd ev...

Confirmed that we had 301 in the away end tonight. Decent away following to be fair. Double what I expected. So 1,688 home fans on a Wednesday night, pretty good that For comparison the first home match last season was v Curzon and was 1,488 (with about 10 from Curzon), on a Saturday as well. So a ...

Here's a thought - Burn actually started out as a right back so he may be more comfortable there than in central defence.

Could he be worth a shot? One last chance to prove his worth?

Bad injury for Trotman believe he is at hospital think its an Achilles so will be out for several months That's bad news with a reasonably small squad. I don't think our squad is that small really. We're looking at missing Trotman, Atkinson, Wheatley, Holmes through injury on Saturday, and Burn is ...

Atkinson (when fit) can play right back. Which is a bit of a shame if he has to, because I was looking forward to seeing if he could be that midfielder who we've been crying out for since Turnbull left. I wonder if we can get another loan in from Boro? I think one of AA's sons is there as a right ba...

To give an indication of how ridiculously open this division will be, only one side (Guiseley) has a 100% record after two games. If we can beat Gateshead by 3 goals tomorrow we will be 7th.This league will be wide open this year for certain. Sent from my moto g(6) play using Tapatalk Gateshead wil...

That'll still be 90 more than most other away teams though. There's extra interest due to the new manager and ...

I’ll wait to see where we are after 5-6 games before having an opinion - tommy has to sell 3-4 key players which didn’t help so at least Armstrong won’t have to do that. Tommy signed a bunch of overpaid, pea hearted midgets and had no cohesion or tactics. We also had a tiny squad due to the large i...

Disappointing result 3-1 loss, that'll shave a few floaters from Wednesday's crowd.

Sounds like we were on a suicide mission in the first half and threw it away.
