Re: Darlington V Farsley

Hadn't Elliot been playing well lately? Also Syers was also going to make his point. Given the circumstances we shouldn't get too blue about this result because I suspect all bets are going to be off for most football folk for a while. Our club has a big heart and we'll need it again. Peace and love...

Re: Telford

I never really got over Telford putting us out of the cup in 1985 then singing 'nice one Cyril' very loudly through the dressing room walls so as far as I'm concerned we should always beat them. A great result nevertheless which keeps our season alive. I also feel Campbell has had some unfair commen...

Telford

Quakers can and should win this. The slight dissppointment over recent results would feel better as it does a bit after Herefords turn out at York. Come back with three points and it's still there for us.

Re: Retention for next year

Re Thommo - I feel at some stage he could be in line for a testimonial match. You don't get many of these now because most footballers are on such a good wage but with Thommo, because of the length of time he's been with us, his importance in this time and his effort/attitude and goals, then surely...

Boston Away

Lets have a Boston thread. Well I'd say our toughest game for a while, apparently York were well beaten after finding some form against Chester. However, it's often said that Darlo rise to occasions like this and the performance at Kidderminster was encouraging. The brilliant away support should hel...

The Darlo Varieties

I've noticed a few references to the teams tendency to hit a bad patch after going well for a longer period. This has been attributed to a quirk of Alan Armstrongs management as it seemed to happen when he was at Blyth. There will be a few factors involved but Saturdays performance was like the poor...

Re: Jason Kennedy

Wouldn't we be better off finding a younger player who plays now like Jason did then ? It rarely goes well for 'second spells' especially after this length of time - I can only think of Lance Robson who really managed the trick. Also, the players we have are good enough.

[quote=super_les_mcjannet post_id=458250 time=1579769359 user_id=6209 Be good to keep Trotman beyond this season, however if he leaves then I am sure it gives a decent chunk of budget back into the pot. Who knows what will happen but for now he isn't part of our squad so good luck to him. [/quote] A...

Re: Guiseley

 All bets are off now. Digging out a result at Guisley in mid-week in January is promotion form. There's a brilliant vibe at the club and I think we can do it higher up.on the evidence of those cup.games. The fans who are diaryng the play offs know the score.

Re: Darlington V Alfreton

I think the above post puts things into perspective but I think we should go for it and finish as well as we can in preparation for next season If that turns out to be in a higher division we can give it a go - as long as we keep AA and co. My caution is based on painful experiences of relegation bu...

Re: Darlington V Alfreton

The playoffs are very much on. They barely laid a glove on us in the second half and we seem to have good reliable options all over as in the successful switch of Reid to defence. We deserve better crowds... National League here we come :D It's wonderful to see the team playing so well - better tha...

Re: Harrogate Match

Well Soilyhull; Ozzy Osbourne, Jasper Carrott, Bennie off Crossroads _ your boys took a hell of a beating. Looking forward to milking this one at Harrogate's expense. Betty's Cafe, Yorkshire Tea, Annie off Emmerdale. Good enough to beat Pool for fun though but the spirit and confidence AA has given ...

This is the stage for Thommo to smash home his 100th goal. May be useful if he could grab a hat-trick and Reid score his debut goal as well😁
Yes he deserves this and a big crowd to applaud him. Even though he's played at a lower Stephen would be a contender for my 'best of' post 1990 team.

I fancy us for this one. Current form isn't that far apart and I'd say we're better going forward. It would be beneficial if the "F" column in the League Table backed up your claim. I'd suggest sticking to facts, rather than fantasy. Fantasy football is always better. I was including cup form...

I fancy us for this one. Current form isn't that far apart and I'd say we're better going forward. Tight at the back and we can win. This fixture should be seen as a derby in my view and there have been some good games over the years, like last seasons here. I had my Damascene conversion about Tommy...

Re: F A TROPHY DRAW

Just done a pitch inspection of my back lawn and it would be game on if Solihull don't mind navigating through the 18 blackbirds feeding on it. Given their style of play Solihull would probably be more of a threat to the gulls :D Very good. I hope it can be played though as it looks as if we're hit...

Nott's County away was my hope instead of Walsall in the other cup so maybe? Take it from me they're beatable and it would be a good day out. I.agree it's good to feel Quakers are a cup team at the moment so let's not worry about the league too much this season. I'd like us to beat York but I'd love...

It's good that Flowers knows we are a good side as long as we give it our best shots this is another game we can learn from. We've had to adapt a lot this season but Sats. performance said so much about the club -. Fool if You Think it's Over eh?

I think a local connection would be apt so I suggest Fool if You Think it's Over sung by Chris Rea. It goes to the heart of the supporters efforts. Re: Simply not good enough

It may not have been good enough in the last game and a half but there's nothing simple about it, as others have pointed out with issues like injuries and options in attack. I think we're a long way from the shambles of last year and even if the season finishes with Quakers below half-way it will be...

Noticed O'Neill went on after 70 minutes at Leeds but there was nothing of note in the report. The Boro dressing room must be a glum spot at the moment I'm sure it would be better for the lad back here and as they're likely to make big changes with their management team soon the club might let us ha...

Re: Darlington V Telford

I think c-numb might be right. This seems to be quite a tough league and losing 2-0 leads - which we did a few times last season - must be hard to take. I noticed Brackley hit six away today and they made us look pretty poor the other week. It takes it's toll and maybe it is a faith thing so perhaps...

Their message board had an unkind remark about going bust and big stadiums but as we know that kind of thing can happen to the best of clubs.
Even an over-inflated heavy metal team like Soilyhull - I hope we give them a lesson in kicking a football. Also, are they up to Walsall's level?

Proud of the whole team, everyone put in a shift  . Liddle was outstanding I thought with some brilliant passes and tackling, but so was Thommo and Hatfield. Laing I think is a good centre half but when he came on looked a little lost as a centre forward, understandably so in an unusual posit...

I wasn't going to but, I just watched the highlights , my advice is don't , it will destroy any hope you might have for Wednesday. [*] Thanks for the warning, but a bit late for me. Hot knife through butter in the first half with a lack of tackles upfield & letting them run at pace down to our box,...
