Not quite - Kennedy missed our last penalty but Rochdale still had to take (and score) theirs.

A couple of others to ponder: 99/00: A 2-2 draw against Shrewsbury as we stuttered towards blowing automatic promotion. They went 2-0 up with 88 minutes gone and we someone clawed it back. Pitch invasion tasitc! 2002ish? Darlo 3-2 Luton: Sheeeeerrraaaannnn. 2001: Forest away, a 2-1 win from going be...

Re: Tommy Wright: 19/20 Season. Yay or Nay

Why is it sad?

People are always likely to change their mind after such a pathetic performance. However I would suspect here it is more people being reminded of the reality outside our little 3-game bubble of false hope.

Re: Tommy Wright: 19/20 Season. Yay or Nay

You obviously don’t come on here often then, I said ages ago I thought Wright’s time was up. The difference is with me is that if he stays he will still have my support despite the fact he has plenty of faults that seem to keep popping up. Mind you if we win our last two games we end up on the same...

How this debate reminds me very much of the Brexit omnishambles: 1 It clearly splits the fanbase; 2 People keep wanting another vote on it; 3 Intelligence and reason seem primarily loaded on one side of the argument; 4 Robbo and I couldn't agree less. Well, aye, if you replaced him with De Gea then we'd probably be top half.

But to suggest any single player has cost us a playoff berth is madness. We are bang average / gash all over the pitch.

It's your brand of generic, Up the Quakers, all will come good bollocks that's the real danger here. There is no evidence base to suggest TW and AW can improve us moving forward. Re: TW - Learning His Trade

I assume that by 'improving' you are isolating the last two matches alone? What other possible metric coudl you be using to suggest that he is getting better as a manager?

Those determined to keep Wright for next season seem to be basing it one thing: hope.

Re: Do The Wright Thing

Forgive me for finding the above unconvincing. I see little evidence of TW developing as a manager. Some of the upturns in his management of us seem to have been forced by things like injuries rather than judgment, and his tactical naivety is at time staggering. Also, how confident are we giving TW ...

Thinking back twenty years, there were normally only a handful of strong Conference sides that had realistic aspirations of making it in the football league. Re: Altrincham V Darlington

So what’s AW’s role in all this ? He was a very good defender, he has the knowledge he’s got to know what needs doing. He clearly adds bot all. Based on his playing days and fitness coaching since, you would have assumed that as an assistant manager he would: - Get the defense organised; - Have the...

The more I think about it, the decision to make Styche captain was absolute madness. Quite high in the roll call of TW fook-ups, infact. Putting the unnecessary level of nit picking going on in this thread to one side, I want to throw my hat in the ring as very much pro-Styche, and in many ways it surprises me how quickly people forget his goals-to-game ration and how pivotal that was in reigniting last season for us. As said above, ...

Injuries and suspensions haven’t help us. I think we’re a good team when we’re not battling injuries or suspensions. We obviously lack depth and the decision to go with a smaller squad is perhaps a debate for another day. That said we’ve probably got two players on our books who may or may not play...

Not sure how bad the jet lag is from Lichtenstein, but Gib (& Styche) failed to score whilst the squad players took their chances & makes it a tough decision for TW as who to leave out. So if Kane doesn't bag for England does Pochettino have to consider leaving him out? International form is irrele...

Fully in support of that side and set-up, although whether he has had the time in training to fully brief them on the system is the main concern. For me, deviating from the 4-5-1 system that was serving us well last season is the main reason for our 'indifferent' start. We had a system that worked a...

It will be interesting to see the line up that TW decides on for Saturdays game. Probably a reshuffle in the back 4 and definitely one in the midfield. I think we should still go for 4 4 2, Hughes needs a run of games, this is his chance. Maddison, Trotman Burn Galbraith O'Hanlon, Thompson Hughes E...

Gray I’m sure will get some banter but the majority of fans would prefer a Darlo win and go home happy. I ha...

Really sorry to hear that the drummer (a very good mate) was getting stick. People forget he is fan too, who has to lug that thing around and accrue countless blisters every match. When I did it (retired in 2009!) it was fun but thankless at times. The drum should supplement the atmosphere, not be e...

Look at this man, it is epic. Makes you realise how much harder we seemed to get it in 2012 compared to teams like Halifax and Chester. They may have gone pop, but at least they didn't pay off historic debts and had perfectly suitable stadiums to play in:

It works like this (taken from Non League Paper Twitter): - 6 teams - 2nd & 3rd get a bye into semis. 4th v 7th & 5th v 6th; - Winners then go into semi finals (versus either 2nd or 3rd); - Winners progress to final - In all cases the highest finishing team plays at home (except NL final @ Wembley) ...

On the other hand: - It does retain interest (and potential therefore sustain crowds) for a greater number of teams; - It gives a greater sense of advantage to those finishing highest, incentivising pushing for 2nd or 3rd place. Ultimately if people see this format as unfair then they probably feel ...
