Re: Signings

£330K has to have included staff otherwise we’d be knee deep in debt based on revenue projections not being any more than the prior season. Safe to assume staff costs around £60-70k based on prior accounts so playing budget somewhere around £275K if I had to guess Still a decent amount that should h...

Re: What is clear....

You give the manager a budget and he spends it as he sees fit. As soon as you start telling him who he can and can’t sign it has the potential to go south. You should have enough faith that the manager will spend the budget appropriately otherwise why hire him? The lengths of contracts offered obvio...

Re: Dan Maguire signs!!

Dominic Knowles would be my option - released by Harrogate and his scoring record at NLN level is phenomenal. May be a slight concern around his fitness though so would need to ensure his ankle is up to it - don’t want to end up with another Ainge. Not too dissimilar to Maguire so should fit into AA...

I’m sure he will as will all players released at that level but doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. If he’s wanting to stay local he’s already massively reduced his options.

Re: More signings pls xoxo

Sunderland have released Max Stryjek and Luke Molynuex wonder if they could be potential players we could look at Stryjek was last in the Football League, so would take desperation for him to drop to part time level. Same goes for Molyneux, he’ll be wanting a full-time gig at National League Premie...

Didn’t really want to be here from the word go. You’d think professionals would be able to put their past allegiances behind them but he always seemed like his time up the road meant he had some downer on us.

Surely the BTB goes towards the club's budget, and if they wish to use a chunk of that to cover the cost of a players medical treatment then the board can make that decision?

Re: Notes from the fans' forum

The next plan simply has to be long term. Even if it’s going to take 10 years to come to fruition the objective has to be for us to have autonomy of our own ground whether we physically own it or not as long as there is a very long term lease on it. Short term success is great but if it’s not underp...

There was a lack of diligence last summer in making several of the signings and we paid the price right through the spine of the team.

Would anyone be interested in Scott Loach after his release from pools? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Reading between the lines he was on a good wedge at Hartlepool and had been asked to take a wage drop to which he’s declined. I’m sure with his pedigree he’ll get another decent full time deal

Re: Signings

He doesn't start the job until today. It's only 10.13 on a bank holiday....give him a chance! When a new manager is announced, the coaching staff is usually announced alongside. Wouldn’t be beyond reasonable to suggest that this could have been announced last week. We have to ensure we do the thing...

Galbraith isn’t quick enough to play in midfield and I don’t mean in terms of pace. He’d be closed down to quickly trying to find a pass.

Re: Signings

How about some of the Gateshead players? White, Tinkler, Olley or Rigg would surely be good shouts. Boyes I would highly doubt from Spennymoor, but he’s local. Maguire would be outstanding but I reckon he’s off to Shields. White & Tinkler weighing up full-time moves at the moment on top of Mellish ...

Re: Signings

I’m sorry Divas, but that’s nonsense. I’m not “peddling” anything and I’ve literally said I want Laing to be a success. But last time I checked, we were allowed to say what we liked, and to suggest we can’t say anything remotely negative about players in case they get upset is just a bad attempt at...

Re: Signings

You’re right blind faith doesn’t help anyone but if players are coming into the club with pre-conceived opinions about them which are being peddled then they’re potentially not getting a fair crack of the whip (yes it’s a forum for debate but let’s at least see him in the flesh for half a dozen game...

Re: Signings

The fact Laing has played for AA for 20+ games at this level and he still wants to sign him is reassuring despite his seemingly poor show at Pools - at the level above and a year plus younger (he was still an almost ever present in 17/18)

If he can head a ball it instantly makes him better than Burn

Re: Signings

Didn’t think Hemming was an upgrade on Maddison when we had him last season but I suppose it was only 4 games and he’ll be a year older now.

I’d prefer Brad James who is a year older and must be ready for another loan after spending some time with Billingham a couple of years back

Re: Signings

Surely they don't need another goalkeeper? They must have some players who will be sick of sitting in the stands as well? Word is that Gould is leaving Spennymoor as his father has been sacked as GK coach at Middlesbrough and the family are relocating. Hence the move for Jameson. Rumours have it th...

They're being relegated two divisions and will start next season with a 9 point deduction. It's hard to see them starting next season, this could be the end of the current Gateshead team.
9 points were deducted from this season’s total, not next. I expect that’s the least of their worries
