Re: Blyth

They’d have been better off giving the job to Mr Blyth Robbie Dale alongside an experienced head like Harry Dunn. Clark was a big name given his ex playing days but it’s telling that no one has touched him with a barge pike and he’s been forced to take very uninspiring jobs since he left Huddersfiel...

Re: The Areana

We’ll need to find somewhere eventually. Can anyone really see the rugby club agreeing another license for us to play there when this one is up and they’ve cleared their debts? Are you saying their debts are one-offs rather than operational? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk This is a fair point, ...

Re: New Striker

I understand we have O'Neill until the end of December, which is a bit different to the handful of matches that we had Nelson for. You are right about Nelson, but he was also a bit more mature and had some pedigree so we were a shop window for the lad. If O'Neill wins us the same amount of points a...

Re: Gateshead game...

We’re now doing season tickets where you can pay £20 a month (adult standing) so you don’t even have to shell out a lump sum! I think it would be a wise decision. The players have shown in the first two games that when the click and up the tempo they can be really good. The longer they play togethe...

Re: Trotman out for the season

From what I’ve seen we’re crying out for Atkinson in midfield. Holness and Bascome aren’t the answer in there and Wheatley will take some time to find his feet I suspect. Watson at LB and Liddle at RB for me athiiygh Alun had that option last night but went for 3 at the back so maybe that’s his pref...

Re: Gateshead game...

I'm something of a lapsed Darlo supporter, having only moved back to the area a few months ago. I haven't been going regularly since around 2013, so i'm toying with the idea of getting a season ticket again this year, as i enjoyed last night enormously. Felt great to be back. Thought we were really...

So did Liddle.
Maybe it was Liddle RB and Watson LB, either way we have flexibility in the squad

Re: Gateshead game...

Atkinson (when fit) can play right back. Which is a bit of a shame if he has to, because I was looking forward to seeing if he could be that midfielder who we've been crying out for since Turnbull left. I wonder if we can get another loan in from Boro? I think one of AA's sons is there as a right b...

I’m not going to be happy until we have a matchball plinth sponsor Be good if we had something on the website, advising which matches had sponsor and match ball sponsor. Unless I am missing something I ahve no idea if we have sponsors for the first two games, I am sure Craig Morley is on it but if ...

Bascombe is still showing in the squad list on the official site, so maybe we can assume he's been signed but just not announced yet.
He probably doesn’t need to be announced as he was already here - he’s the extra 1 from the number of retained players that people thought was Kneeshaw

Perhaps he was protecting him? Could see he hadn't physically matured enough, and throwing him into a struggling team would have done him more harm than good.

Re: BM - Surface

If I remember rightly the agreement was we paid £80k to upgrade the pitch and install better drainage. The rugby club were then to maintain the pitch there after. We paid 42k for pitch improvements. Money down the drain by the looks of it! We also had matched FSIF funding available at that time so ...

Re: BM - Surface

First thing that struck me from the highlights. For a pitch to look like that in July is disappointing, even moreso given the investment two years ago. You could see at the back end of last season that it desperately needed a good water and some remedial work. Ironic that it’s not actually the rugby...

Re: Motherwell game

My worry this season, at the moment, is up front. Campbell wants to be a number 9 but isn't exactly tall and Thommo used as a number 10, again not the tallest. Both will and have been given the impression of first Xl starting slots and to me it feels a little like trying to shoe-horn them in. The s...

I hope this doesn't tempt fate but a Harrogate fan wrote this when TW bought him: "Gone to Darlington for a fee. Was great for us until his injury last season. When he came back it was obvious he wasn't the same player and spent most of the time on the bench. Went on loan to Wrexham and didn't get ...

Re: Adam Campbell

Shades of James Caton for me, so reserving judgement until I've seen him play a few times. If anyone remembers we signed Caton to play as a centre forward despite him hardly ever playing in that position before. It became evident after 10 minutes of his debut that he couldn't finish. This is a big ...
