Re: Josh Heaton
Maybe he can bring in Burn, Bascombe, Holness, Donawa and Bell. Resting Laing, Wheatley, Hatfield, Thommo and Rivers?

Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup
I think we’ll win this by a 3 or 4 goal margin.

They have more injuries than we do and that was a makeshift side they put out.

Re: Darlo v York
O’Neill and Liddle back for the next league match.
Thommo on the left to replace Holmes, with O’Neill signrd to play through the middle.
Atkinson replaced by Wheatley.
Right back signed to cover Trotman’s injury.
I think people need to look at the facts.

Re: Darlo v York
I think we’ll win this one, we need our wingers to track back and help our full backs. Thommo and Rivers have a lot of work to do in this one.
Not sure whether to keep Wheatley or reinstate Bascome, tough call that one.
I’d hope Hedley goes to right back now he’s had time to train with the squad.

Re: Josh Heaton
He’s been doing a Jonny Burn impression all season, best to get rid of him and move on.
It will be Bascome or Holness next, one of them won’t make the bench once Atkinson and Liddle are back.
I’d say Bascome as Wheatley covers Atkinson and Holness covers Hatfield.

Re: Away to Trafford in the FA Cup
I think this year we have a squad with a few key players who can allow us to really go at these lower league clubs.
The trickery of Rivers, the pace of Campbell and Di was and the energy and aggression of Hatfield may prove to be too much for them.

Re: Gloucester V Darlington
I’d peddle Heaton, Holness, Hedley and get a proper right back and centre forward. If we could get shot of Laing to I would and bring in a new centre back. Watson can cover centre back and full backs and Bascome and Wheatley can cover Atkinson and Hatfield. Not difficult. You would get rid of a pla...

Re: Gloucester V Darlington
I never slated Rivers, Hatfield or Thompson or even Elliott, Watson, Liddle, Bascome, Donawa, O’Neill, Bell, Holmes or Campbell!!
I merely pointed out the squad is very lopsided and we have two under performing centre halfs.
Why is everyone so touchy?
I’m sure Blyth would have any of those players.

Re: Gloucester V Darlington
It seems like players who don’t play suddenly become world beaters. Atkinson in the middle means will have Wheatley, Homless, Bascome and Hedley as reserve centre midfielders and no recognised right back at the club who is fit. Laing needs dropping, He’s too soft. I don’t care if he can play these l...

If Headley has been signed to play in midfield I’d expect to see Bascome made surplus to requirements. Well have so many centre midfielders it’s a joke.

Re: Gloucester V Darlington
Reading the Echo report it seems that it was two poor sides and we were unlucky to have a massive deselection for the winning goal.
Great crowd hopefully for the York match.

If Laing and Tez start we should be ok. Heaton has been worse than Burn.

Re: Darlington V Blyth
You can’t include Bascome as Wheatley is much better and Donawa is a sub! I also doubt Holmes would star .. in his two games he was very ineffective. So only Trotman and Liddle missing with Atkinson and to a lesser extent, Watson as able deputies. It was scrappy, Blyth had good chances and we didn’...

Re: Ben Hedley
The Bermuda lads play tonight and Sunday so back for next week.
This lad is a midfielder and at 20 it’s not like he’s an experienced pro who can fill in a position like David Atkinson and Will Hatfield can.

Re: Darlington V Blyth
I’m going to call Blyth and offer them my services. I’d get a game as left back, centre midfield or centre forward. Awful side. They are going down, rock bottom of the league. Poor performance by Darlo but the all important 3 points in the bag. Good to see Heaton dumped, been doing a Jonny Burn impr...

Hopefully Liddle and Galbraith are fit for Blyth and then we can move Atkinson into midfield.
Only be missing a full back from what would have possibly been Alun’s strongest starting eleven (unless Holmes was in for Thommo).

It’s good to see how each player did with reasons for those of us that can’t get to a game.

I go with that team but Galbraith for Heaton (if he’s fit) and Donawa for Thompson.
I’d think about 2 in front of Bascome in Hatfield and Holness and remove O’Neill in a 4-1-4-1 formation

Re: Small clubs in the north west
Neville can hold his head up high, under no circumstances should he have been expected to get involved with Bury. Remember that Neville is just the frontman of a team of 7 who make up Salford. By himself he’s got no where near enough money to run a football club, he couldn’t help them. I suppose the...
