Re: Rugby League

That's really sad news, didn't think such things happened in RL. Well Wigan were expectedly thumped by St Helens. The big surprise was Warrington being beat at home by Salford. When we played the derby at Wembley in 1980 for the cup 80,000 fans travelled together in trains busses and cars and there...

Re: Rugby League

Stopped in Boro for a coffee with family on the way home. In 64 years never been so ashamed to be a KR fan. Nothing to do with what happened on the pitch. Some times, even in derbies, you have to just suck it up. No place in sport for louts throwing booze, bottles flares and God knows what else in a...

Re: Rugby League

Wow that was a close run thing for Castleford, can't say I fancy our chances of beating St Helens tomorrow. At least I'll be watching the footie and I can fast forward through the Rugby later on. Now me, in the last few years with all the cheating in football, I have gone the other way. Watch the r...

Re: What do you like on TV at the moment?

I watch some history channel and the like but mainstream TV leaves me cold now with all the "reality" crap.
Whatever happened to good old fashioned simple no violence, easy to watch TV?

Re: Rugby League

That poster only joined to post that nonsense. Must be very bored to find their way to this thread! Pleased to see Widnes into the next round but they would have benefited from a home one. The way the cup draw is sorted out now is totally in the hope, and to be as sure as they possibly can, that th...

Re: Rugby League

I love cricket but this is a RL Thread, so start a Cricket one ! I enjoyed watching Boycott because he was a master of boredom and I can watch the last 20 mins of a "hit out or get out", but 5 days of prod prod poke does nothing for me. I do not get covering up v spinners. 2 paces down the pitch an...

Don't you guys watch cricket?
Pete might. I can't stand the game, but that would be on a cricket thread anyway not a RUGBY LEAGUE thread.

Why is that suddenly rocket science to some?

Re: Rugby League

The draw for the next round of the Challenge Cup is on the BBC news channel at 6-30pm. I really have no idea why I go down to the final every year. AS long as the draw is done the way it is with the "elite 8" I can't find it in me to get excited any more. Used to love it in the days long gone when ...

Re: Democracy under threat.

Sadly those who voted UKIP to force the leaving thought that once the referendum took place it was a done deal and they went back to their "natural" parties. Big, big mistake. Yes, I was annoyed at Farage downing tools after the referendum (although he did deserve a breather) as the pressure needed...

Re: Rugby League

Poor again from Wigan as we lose badly at Wakefield, at least our next game should be easier at home to St Helens on Good Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No disgrace loosing to Wakey mate. Chessie has built a real TEAM spirit. Top 5 should be the least they look at. (And to think, he was boo'd out of KR as a...

Re: Rugby League

That was a bit of a shock as Huddersfield beat Castleford 20-18. Must admit I was a bit disappointed when I got in the car and heard that. I fully expect Udders to be bottom 3 at the end of the season, and they are my tip to be relegated. Good comeback win for KR last night in the cup. From 10-4 do...

Re: Democracy under threat.

That said, rather than another referendum, i'd sooner we entered an arrangement like the EFTA. Which does all of those things, but leaves the political union. I think it's a compromise, that doesn't require another nasty, hateful vote, and it compensates for some of the (to my mind, more reasonable...

Re: Rugby League

Another impressive display by Toronto at 3rd placed Sheffield, as they win 40-10. Pete, they really are NOT that good believe me. Yes I could well be interested in going to the Wigan game.

Looks like we're in a battle to beat Castleford as we are losing 26-24 with just under 20 minutes left.
Just let me know nearer the time if you want to go.

The South stand is in full working order, much like the old open away stands at Leeds,Cas, Wakey and other of the old grounds. It has only been open twice in the last 3 years. Both times when we played Hull. It holds 3000 people with ease. They sold 2,200 standing and 280 seats in the North this yea...

Re: Rugby League

I sit right behind the posts in the North stand, but with a few to go I get towards the car-park exit so I can get away before the crowd as it can take a bit of getting out of the city. I did not realise until I went down to ground level just how windy it was, and into our face second half. I think ...

Re: Democracy under threat.

Sorry, but by the very meaning of the word democracy you can not have a change in the peoples wishes until you have delivered them. Really? Not in any dictionary I’ve seen. When the people are offered various embellishments of the “great deal” and “they need us more than we need them”, or the vario...

There should not be another vote just to appease the remainers. The vote was out that should happen. That is democracy. Don't know if it's the TV coverage but when (quite a while ago) I've seen Widnes at Warrington they filled the away end and at Castleford had a big travelling support. Re: Rugby League

It's interesting watching Toronto on the TV playing around the North of England, as they always have a good few fans at these games. Pete when we went over to Toronto last year they had about 10,500 in the ground. The whole thing is like an American football match, ie, Barbies in the car park, clow...
