Re: Rugby League

Not good news that Mose Masoe is being asked to leave his hospital bed before he is ready to go home, in order for his bed to be used by a coronavirus patient. Hope he can continue to make progress & I hope his long term health & wellbeing is threatened by this decision. Tough times for everybody a...

Re: Coronavirus.

Ed get off Boris's back, he's doing a great job in a very trying situation. Went shopping in town today & it was good to see that there was plenty of stock in a couple of supermarkets I visited. Hopefully people will stop panic buying, but somehow I doubt it. Reread my comment mate. I totally agree...

Some absolute half wit called P.J.Poolie has been slagging us off re our fund raising on The Bunker forum, very distasteful.
PJ used to post on on Uncovered on virtually every post to dangle a worm.
Not sure if he left of his own accord or if he was helped on the way.

Re: Coronavirus.

I don't see how anyone could fail to see the irony in BJ getting the virus. I don't wish him ill at all, but my first thought when I heard the news was I hope a few of the fools learn from this. Just yesterday people were arguing on a selling site that "It can be sorted so we are safe" when going to...

Re: Coronavirus.

Just been announced that Boris has git the dreaded lurgi. Don't know if I should laugh or cry. Laughing at someone having a virus which is killing thousands would say more about you than anything else. Disagree with someone’s politics all you want, but let’s retain some semblance of humanity...

Re: Our banana munching "friends"

I think the ape abusers are a bit safer than what we were at the time Radged was our chairman. 1 Their crowds are 3,000+, our were just under 2,000 - so there is more income there. 2 I imagine that Vic Park doesn't cost as much to run as the Arena did - so less expense there. More income + less exp...

Re: Rugby League

Given the postponement of sport worldwide, I'd think it's almost certain that the weekend will be cancelled. Especially if football makes a comeback. Did anybody buy there tickets in advance, I guess you'll get a refund? Most clubs have been "Pre selling" since just after the season started to sell...

The magic weekend at St James Park is under threat from the coronavirus.

Hadn't thought of that. Best value weekend of sport you can find. 6 games and it costs me a tenner for 2 people !!!! Plus a quick 30 minute drive and I am home.

Re: Our banana munching "friends"

I'm sure many clubs will be using the pandemic as a reason for getting players to take wage cuts & laying off non-playing staff. I don't think a 20% pay cut is too bad, it could have been far worse for their players. It was the laying staff off that made my ears prick up. Had they done this last we...

I see Darlington has the joint 3rd lowest outbreaks of Coronavirus amongst the Local Authorities in England, with only Blackburn & Darwen & Hull with fewer cases. Bluntly, and ashamed to say, I am amazed Hull is relatively low. I went onto a local site on Monday and posted a scathing comment along ...

I see on Sky sports news that Hartlepool have made some staff redundant and asked the rest to take a 20% cut in pay.
Wonder if this is the start of a replay of 2011. Would make a good excuse if he is wanting to cut the wage bill by a chunk.

Gainford is about 7 miles West of Darlington on the A67 between Barnard Castle & Darlington. Thinking about it Pete, I probably know the Darlo surrounds less than any other part of the country. I saw a similar story about a chemist in Birmingham. Quite simply, as stated in the story, it is profiteering, and illegal. Not really fair on players, expecting them to lose or defer their wages to help clubs out. Surely they can bring in a mechanism to extend contracts by a month, but that could be academic if the season doesn't start within 4 to 6 weeks, which seems unlikely at the moment. I see the next round of the Challenge Cup. Good to see that Newcastle have been drawn at home to Toronto. Tough game for Hull KR at Leeds. Good win for Newcastle this afternoon. 38-30 in a win that was easier than the score suggests. Extended the lead from 2 points at half time# Not bad to beat a side from the league above. I honestly don't see why people are giving up on this season just yet. The information is changing by the minute never mind the hour or day.
