Re: Rugby League

Ed I'd be interested to know if you think the Sky coverage overall is good or bad for Rugby League? Me personally I think it is good for Rugby League, as it raises the profile of Rugby League as a national sport. It allows me to watch my side from a distance, as I don't have the time or money to re...

Re: Rugby League

I never felt tired & was fully awake for the whole journey.. I'm sure the guy who caused the Selby train crash thought he wasn't tired and was fully awake. Your reactions and decision making are impaired when you haven't slept regardless of whether you feel tired or not. Professional drivers are su...

Re: Rugby League

I never felt tired & was fully awake for the whole journey. Well Great Britain were very poor yesterday is Auckland against New Zealand. The crowds at these games has been really disappointing, loads of empty seats at the Christchurch stadium. Lets see how they get on against the mighty Papua New G...

Re: Rugby League

Luckily I can lose weight very easily, which probably is very unusual for someone of my age. But the weight loss not only improved my health, it also improved my mood & wellbeing, which is just as important. Hope things improve for you Ed & you've turned a corner. I have no problem losing it, it is...

Yes, you are correct I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea, and made worse by the enlarged prostate and other problems such as the shoulder op that went wrong. A slight move when my arm is in the "wrong" position and I sit up screaming in pain. 1 thing you say that gives hope is that since being ba...

Thanks for that - immortal stuff, the pathe film makes it look real end to end and it's nice to see clips of our gallant fans. Jimmy Greaves who played in the drawn game at Stamford Bridge, covers this match well in his auto.biography. My Father and most of my uncles were at the game and they all r...

Re: Rugby League

Sorry to hear that news Ed, I know you don't take that action lightly & I know it will be Hull KR's loss. One of the problems that the Superleague have is that Sky are all important & they can change the fixture dates at the drop of a hat. The Premier League have similar problems with Sky & BT spor...

Superleague fixtures are out today, the first game of the season is on the 30-1-20 Wigan at home to Warrington. Sadly, after being a pass holder for over 60 years, I have today contacted KR and canceled my life membership, car parking and legends lounge pass. With the fixtures out I can not get to ...

I don't get people banging on about socialism. It never has and never will work because it is based on jealousy and spending other people's money. Re: General Election 2019

Quizzical look. Do you have to vote for a "main party"? Unfortunately until they bring in PR then a vote for any of the main 2 (or 3 at a push) is a waste of a vote in the majority of constituencies. Both main parties wouldnt go for PR anyway so the chance of that changing anytime soon is nil. Been...

The first year American football was on TV over here on channel 4, in 82. Final in Jan 83 I liked the Redskins colours and am also a fan of native indian history so I backed them. My wife went for the Dolphins simply because of the colours. so I did a nice patent bet on the 2 winning their conferenc...

16 & 17 year olds can vote in the Scottish and Welsh parliamentary elections but not in the UK General Election. Therefore not a totally English decision. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk I am aware of that. Simply pointing out the uneven playing field now that Scotland and Wales have their own...

Re: Liam Connell - Boost the Budget

I doubt Shields wage bill has been changed much as Blackpool will probably be paying their lads wage. If it is true he has to play as part of the deal then Shields have 2 simple options. (1), send him back to Blackpool and reinstate Connell. (2), Loan Connell out for the rest of this season and find...

It's a pity that they don't revive that pre-season idea of having the English Champions of both codes play each other in 2 games. Ed, from Wiki -- I remembered this story because of the football connection. The Mayor of Hartlepool was the executive mayor of Hartlepool Borough Council in County Durham, England. Established in 2002 and abolished in 2013, all three terms of office were served by Stuart Drummond. The office was e...

Hartlepool haven’t got a mayor, those days have gone.

Don't they? Are they under a Cleveland 1 or the Boro 1?
Either way that would make it a slightly better thought.
