Re: Back to the Arena

Under normal circumstances, how may do you think we would get for the Boxing Day match against Spennymoor. We got 2,200 last year. We wouldn’t be allowed half of that number at BM. We all know the issues with the Arena, but I’d rather watch the match live than stream it on Boxing Day with a house fu...

Back to Basics Boston on Tuesday

Yes, we all should be celebrating today, and we look forward to Monday evening and the draw, but more importantly we need 3 points against Boston on Tuesday night followed by another 3 points against Telford on Saturday. A cup run I’d great for the finances and moral of all of us, but let’s get poin...

Re: Swindon away

Local Swindon newspapers reporting that after we got the second goal we were never in any trouble and saw the game out easily. Swindon never in it in the later stages.
Apparently Nicky Hunt ruled supreme and stifled any threat that came his way.

Re: Ground share

Like most fans on this blog, I’m not a great fan of the Arena, but if it got us all in to watch our games next season, then so be it. I’d rather watch the game at the Arena than see a live stream. Also it may also be a wake up call for Darlington Rugby, who have taken us for a bit of a ride in the l...

NLN line up gets stronger and stronger each season. Was hoping to lose Brackley to NLS, but no such luck.

Rumour is that he is off to Harrogate, with a new enhanced contract. Too good to be coming back to NLN.

Re: Playoffs

Altrincham to win the final, keep Boston in NLN and Brackley to move to NLS, although I think it is likely to be Gloucester who move leagues.

Connor Oliver is a mid fielder, think we have plenty of them. Not on my radar, but what do I know.

Re: Away kit poll

If we are going to play like the Dutch side of the 70’s and 80’s, we might as well play in their colours. We are getting Tangoed.

Hate to say this! But I reckon Wheatley could be on his way to Harrogate. Just the middle fielder they are looking for along with Falkingham

Re: New deal for, Donawa , Hatfield, Rivers, Holmes Hedley

We have a new centre forward, Holmes, we don’t realise the talent we have because of that injury. All I want now is Wheatley, then we will have the nucleus of a strong squad with a couple of AA surprises to get us starting the season strongly.

Gloucester talking of an overall build budget of £2m. One of the owners has his own construction company.

Re: Harrogate Match

Saw Harrogate play at Yeovil in October and win 2-1. Very good footballing side and my Yeovil mate says that they are the best team they have played all season. Also on a roll the same as us at the moment, so it’s going to be a tough task.

Great interview on FAMOTD by AA. But we may need to have a whip round to buy him a larger shirt. lol. Hope his direct plug to get the reply televised didn’t go unnoticeable at the BBC. He came across as a likeable and honest guy, especially his comment on Hedley’s sending off. Just the kind of footb...

Re: FA CUP FIRST ROUND

West Brom did thump Spennymoor 7-1 in the previous round before turning us over in 1936/37. So losing 3-2 at their place, and they were an old 1st Division side, was a good showing, Hopefully we can get a big name in a few hours time.

Re: FA CUP FIRST ROUND

1936/37 won away to Halifax, Burton and Dartford. Next round went out 3-2 to West Brom…..away. Oddly enough we were drawn away 3 times in a row in 1890/91 without us winning a game. First drawn away to Darlington West End but the game didn't take place and we went through. We then lost 2-0 at Middle...

Re: FA CUP FIRST ROUND

According to my records this is the first time we have won 3 consecutive FA Cup ties away from from home in the same season. Lucrative away tie with 6,000 + crowd and TV will set us up with cash for next season and keep AA’s two year plan on track, regardless of the result. People are starting to ge...
