We can't go up with Blackwell in it's current state can we?
We can - it would just need some work doing to it to be able to stay up

Re: Tonights fixtures

We can play in the National League at Blackwell Meadows as it is. By March of that season it would need an additional 700 capacity added by terracing the away end, or we would be relegated. There's other things which are needed at cat A compared to cat B e.g more turnstiles, better floodlights etc....

Re: Guiseley

Looking at booking holidays, and it got me thinking - have the playoff dates been announced? I still think we are more likely not to be in them than we are to be in them, but we are firmly in the race, so I wouldn't mind keeping the dates free just in case...

Re: Darlington V Alfreton

Very impressed with how Reid slotted in at centre back. Looks like another very astute signing. Yes he did well - although I think Alfreton's attacking style suited him. I'd be a little more concerned if we were playing a team with a more fluid attack, but if Guiseley play like they did last year t...

Re: Darlington V Alfreton

I think we are good enough to make the play offs but as we can see injuries, form and our own away form may well be our stumbling blocks. What a refreshing change though having a squad you actually think can do it. A few tough away games coming up (including 2 this week!) so it will test our away f...

Re: Darlington V Alfreton

Biggest issue with a surprise promotion would be the ground situation - on the pitch I’ve no doubt we’d give it a good go and wouldn’t embarrass ourselves. Armstrong knows what he’s doing, that’s clear as day

Re: Alun Armstrong 2 part interview from Non-league daily

Great Interview and he comes across really well. On the basis of those articles, it seems he is destined to go higher One thing surprised me. He said he would never sign a player without meeting them first. I never realised other managers did sign players that had not met! Seems to be a pre requisi...

99% of the pitch was perfect, even that 1% the ball rolled, now calling game off for that small bit is scandalous

Re: Spennymoor game off

I repeat, there's a video on twitter which shows the ball was not running well in part of the pitch, so to describe the pitch as 'perfect' is deluded. Video evidence shows it was not 'perfect'.

Re: Spennymoor game off

Given the amount of rain that had fallen it would have been prudent to get a local ref to have a look at the pitch in good time. They didn't and allowed fans and players to travel, even issuing assurances that everything was OK.Of course, once the ref deemed areas of the pitch unfit, they immediate...

To be honest, I am a little surprised at the quietness from the club, both over this and the Spennymoor debacle. I guess maybe the silence is out of the club's hands on either or both of these matters for now

Re: Harrogate Match

We battled hard and played reasonably well, but the better side won. They were just a level above us, although we weren’t helped by a referee seemingly oblivious to some of harrogates more physical tendencies. Glad we have a free midweek as there looked to be some heavy legs by the end of the match.

Looking forward to this match. I think it will be one step too far - they're flying, full time, and fresher - but we're playing well and it's always interesting to see us competing against teams at a level we aspire to be

The biggest worry if we do get promoted is the ground situation. If we get up and the players we can afford aren't enough to stay in the league then c'est la vie. However, can we find the cash to get BM up to conference national standard in time? And thats if we even want to spend that cash at BM - ...

I much prefer how we play currently though and would rather watch that, might feel different if we lost every week though. Isn't that basically what we had under Wright? Re: Darlington V Gloucester

Mystified by complaints about the pitch to be honest. You won't find a much better one at this level. It looks in absolutely fine condition?! Less a complaint, more an observation. The BM pitch is usually decent, but it wasn't on Saturday. It was difficult to pass a ball along the floor without it ...

Ground it out on a pitch not conducive to playing good football. Very flat game - perhaps not surprising after the Xmas period. We missed that holding midfielder to put their foot on the ball occasionally, but 3 points is 3 points! Not sure about the comment on the pitch looks ok to me and compared...

Re: Spennymoor Away

Some serious head in the sand from certain spennymoor supporters. One thing that isn’t clear to me, and maybe polarbear could enlighten us. If there was as much space at the bottom end of the ground as is being claimed by some spennymoor town fans, why did spennymoor town officials open up an extra...
