Re: Season at risk of finishing early
According to the DFC statement, option 2 has interest on it too
And both option 1 and 2 are unsuitable for us

Presumably the players could be furloughed if the season was stopped?

At least its at home, and seeing as its a home cup match we may have a chance of winning it!

Re: Home Kit Vote
Option 1 is growing on me. Was a shock to begin with, but it could be a nice change up while keeping the hoops theme. I think restricting the home kit vote to owners too is fine too. Increasing the value of DFCSG membership will hopefully lead to increases in membership, which only benefits the club...

Re: Home Kit Vote
Other than 2, I quite like the options. Would probably buy any of the other 3, whereas another 'normal' hooped shirt I probably wouldn't.
I just hope we get a chance to see the kit in real life!

Re: Brackley v Darlo
Only Boston have conceded less per game than us I think. Our issue isn't the defence, it's breaking down teams who sit back against us (other than Blyth who are Northern League standard). Which is exactly what happened last night. We have some very talented attackers, but most of them like to drift ...

Re: Spennymoor Boxing Day
Probably the most direct I've seen a Spennymoor side and probably also the most dirtiest. It's not really something you associate a Spennymoor side with but I would say they more than met their match yesterday. Really? They played exactly as I expected, as they've been playing this way for a while ...

Re: Jason Ainsley
Lol so the idea that it is a requirement for the new manager to prefer a direct style of play was in reference to the style of play if their outgoing manager. I never said it was a requirement Although, as a general point, if a squad is set up to play direct football and you want someone to come in...

Re: Jason Ainsley
Are Spennymoor that renowned for being a club who wants a route 1 style of play from their manager? I am not sure when someone says Spennymoor I instantly accustom a particular style of play to the club. Whether they want it or not, they have been very route 1 the last couple of years on the occasi...

Re: Diego Maradona
That's not fair. Any player who has deliberately fouled an opponent, committed a deliberate handball offence, exaggerated contact to get a foul / penalty, appealed for a decision they knew to be correct. All of the above are cheats and should be viewed equally. Only if you view the act of cheating ...

Re: Away to Bristol rovers
First penalty was clear as day. I thought the second was a little soft, but can see why it was given. Two experienced players should really have known better - there was no need for either. Indications of how much the focus had gone in that middle third of the game.

Re: Diego Maradona
Agreed. The definition of cheat (from google) is to "act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage." So, deliberate fouls, dives, deliberate handballs - all cheating. Happy as long as we are consistent. If that is the definition we are using appealing for a decision you know to be incor...

Re: Diego Maradona
Yes, those are all examples of cheating. Deliberately fouling someone clean through on goal, or a goalkeeper handling the ball deliberately outside the area, or deliberately handling the ball to prevent a goal bound shot (Suarez in 2010 World Cup), are all cheating. That’s why they’re punished with...

Re: Away to Bristol rovers
For the first half hour, we competed well. Disappointed that we lost focus after that first goal and got punished for every mistake we made. But that sometimes happens when playing against a team far better than you - we did something similar to Tadcaster. However, we've had a good run, made some go...

Re: Team v BPA
Not convinced by the way we set up. Ended up being 1 CM (Wheatley) and 3 players (Reid, Campbell and O'Neill) who wanted to play in that hole behind the striker, which turned into 4 when Maguire was replaced by Charman. BPA sat deep and defended well to crowd us out, but we played our part in that c...

No way am I attending a game with 1500 capacity at BM at the moment. There'd be hadly any social distancing going on. I'll be very surprised if the need for social distancing is removed from the guidelines, but I'm sure we will find out soon enough.

When fans are allowed in some capacity. It is entirely irrelevant until they are. Might not be too far off. Maybe. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/55010011 2,000 in tier 2. would we stay at BM? I presume the allowed number of fans will still need to adhere to social distancing regulations, so if Darlin...

Re: Tyrone O’Neill
Interesting signing - very good player, and Campbell, Maguire, Charman and O'Neill is quite the collection of forwards. I've wondered how Armstrong was going to keep the first 3 happy when they're all fit, and he's complicated that now by adding in O'Neill! Here’s a theory...... It’s pretty much ac...

Re: Guiseley v Darlington
One of the most one sided games I can remember. That's the system which suits us best I think - allows us to get a midfield of Hatfield, Wheatley and Holness on the pitch. Not many teams at this level can live with that energy and ability in the middle. The pressing from the front 6 stopped Guiseley...

Not sure we got the balance of the team right tonight, and were well beaten by a very good and much fresher side.
However, none of that matters. Fingers crossed Hunt is ok
