Clark didn't apply for the job he was apparently approached by the club.
Meant was in the Darlo applications, but interested to know Blyth head hunted him.

Re: Blyth

They’d have been better off giving the job to Mr Blyth Robbie Dale alongside an experienced head like Harry Dunn. Clark was a big name given his ex playing days but it’s telling that no one has touched him with a barge pike and he’s been forced to take very uninspiring jobs since he left Huddersfie...

Re: The Areana

Generating the millions needed to rebuild BM or build a stadium at the SV from scratch is not going to happen. If we ever want to progress beyond where we are then we can't stay at BM. I'm pretty sure DJ has already come to this conclusion. Absolute nonsense. It's 700 shy of the required capacity f...

Re: Curzon Ashton v Darlo

I think, last season, it was after Blyth put Atkinson into that deep midfield position that they went on their long unbeaten run so hopefully he will have the same effect for us once he is fit. Talking of Atkinson, I wonder when he will be fit? The club did state that he "might" make the opening fi...

Re: The Areana

Agree it won’t be 2 to 3k but might be higher than we think.

If you want to see a sporting village working then last night was an example. Football pitches, athletes track and cycling club all working side by side on council facilities

Re: The Areana

Downside is it is horrific, nearly killed the club on more than one occasion, not fit for purpose, may lead to a further reduction in crowd and many more reasons I can’t be bothered to add. The difference is that if we move back as tenants, we won't be responsible to the overall costs of the stadiu...

Re: The Areana

But I would never rule out a return to the Arena. DMP are in financial trouble and I could see us returning as tenants or if DMP go bust, I could see us returning as owners sometime in the future. Out of interest, if that scenario was to play out (which I hope it doesn't) where would the funds come...

Re: The Areana

Downsides to moving back to the Arena is the reality of 1.500 people rattling around in it. Also, how much money would we have to pay off DRFC to leave Blackwell? How much funding would we have to pay back that we received for BM? [/quote] Downside is it is horrific, nearly killed the club on more t...

The council love Mowden and have never done fuck all for DFC. I expect that to continue for ever more.

By the way, I'd rather play at the Arena than BM - lesser of two evils - so no anti-moving to the Arena agenda here.
But Mr Bill Dixon is no longer in charge.

The Arena is a no from me.

Bugger 3-1 mistake by Watson with a poor headed clearance.

You don’t mind conceding a good goal but everyone is a defensive mistake.

Re: Groundsman

I don’t understand what they don’t get, guys we have a football game on there on Saturday, make sure the pitch is cut to standard and the lines are there, it’s surely not a difficult job is it? Are they deliberately trying to wind us up or are they just so incompetent at their job? Someone needs to...

Re: Groundsman

Well I guess there’s always something negative to moan about if you look hard enough. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I would suggest you have a look at the highlights of the game and then tell me the marking out is acceptable for our level of football.Christ,I watched a game on North park this ...

Re: Groundsman

Well I guess there’s always something negative to moan about if you look hard enough. The standard of the pitch and its markings are key to a game of football, believe it or not. Wasn't the case last season that the ground staff had to mark out the penalty area again just before kick off due to the...

Though we looked better with o’neill upfront. Like the look of Donawa but is he a 90 min player yet? Saying that might do a job over the first 60 mins.

Re: Highlights this season

Just a follow up to this, I've had a chat with the club and they are totally on board with things and the need to renew gear on occasions. We're obviously not in a position to make purchase at the drop of a hat but with a little planning we'll be fine. The reality is if you research and buy the rig...

Re: Highlights this season

It’s a really strange setup the league have presented. When you move up to national league level BT sport provide the camera and (introduced this season) a fibre connection so the footage can be sent instantly to their editing suite. They also provide a copy to the league. So your job, from a leagu...

Re: farsley away

Unfortunately the bus with the usual suspects is apparently setting off at 8.30 and heading into the centre of Leeds where they will no doubt stay until just before kick off then turn up totally inebriated. This combined with a warm day and no segregation is a recipe for disaster, as we have seen i...

Never seen grass so long. But guess you prepare a pitch to how you play and we did not adapt to the ball from defence holding up quick enough.
