I remember when we played I think Doncaster at Feethams & you could barely see the halfway line. We were shouting through the fog to find out what was happening at the other end, haha.
Pete you must be older than I thought if you are referring to the same game played in 1960/61 season!

Re: General Election 2019

It wouldn't surprise me if Labour back PR at some point in the future. No system is perfect, but I think overall PR is a fairer electoral system than FPTP. Labour might have no choice in the matter if they ever want to form another government. They used to win a lot of seats in Scotland which was c...

Remember going to Hillsborough in 1970s to watch us playing Sheffield Wednesday when they were really struggling and they were playing We Shall Overcome.

For once Pete I think you may be right. Think it says more about how poor Labour are than anything positive about the Tories though.

Sweet Caroline

Is this going to become a bit of an anthem for us? Seems to be getting plenty of air time recently at home games.Speaking as an old git much prefer it to some of the more modern stuff that is played over the tannoy. Think we could do a a lot worse than to adopt it as our song to come out to at the s...

Re: Simply not good enough

Just a thought but wonder if Bradley Fewster is one of those players we are trying to bring in as he had a spell at Blyth before joining Whitby this season.Believe he nearly joined us when Gray was in charge but opted to take the cash at the pride of Co Durham instead.Didn’t work out there but I thi...

Re: Simply not good enough

I am starting to think that AA is beginning to show signs of the same frustrations he had at Blyth regarding budget constraints in his pursuit of a striker. Hopefully, we can get out of this rut sooner rather than later! Very frustrating indeed for him and us.I know this idea has been discussed bef...

Bookies not taking any chances we are currently best price of 2/1 with Bet 365 to win the game. Shorter elsewhere.

Darlington v Chester

It’s been a tough week but we have a chance to get back on track tomorrow. Not sure if Hadfield is banned for this game. If so will be a big miss. Hopefully we will get a positive response from the players and get something out of the game.Chester will be a hard nut to crack but we are capable of pla...

Re: Leamington (A)

We have two centre defenders, both play centrally. Goalkeepers play centrally - but you can only have one of them. A striker can play centrally and not be a lone striker - like when he played alongside O'Neill. In the same vein Armstrong wants him to play centrally alongside the striker he is tryin...

Re: Leamington (A)

Certain that when we signed Campbell AA said he wanted him to play as a central striker. People at the time questioned his goal scoring record but it was said that was because he had spent much of his career playing out wide. Also believe Campbell himself said he would prefer to play centrally.

Re: Leamington (A)

Next few games look gruelling as well. Chester (H), Solihull Moors (A), York (A), Spennymoor (H), Blyth Spartans (A), Spennymoor (A). Even Blyth are improving (albeit they got humped 6-0 on Saturday, but there’s definitely been an uptick in their form of late) so that's not a gimme. Very concerning...

We are one player, namely an out and out centre forward, from being a bloody good team for this level.
I have to admire your optimism but I think you are over being a little too optimistic. I was once like you a long time ago. Sadly that young man became an old git.

Re: Darlington V Telford

We have the players to compete in this league assembled by AA, it's just unfortunate that three of them are long term injuries. From very early in the season. The players playing are knackered after tough games. It's not as bad as some are making it out to be. I think this three long term injury ex...

Good job only 2 going down this season. We are not playoff material and anyone who thinks so is delusional. Tough run of games coming up and I fear we will be too far off the pace by New Year. We are lightweight up front and give away too many soft goals that is the reality. Not beaten by a more sk...
