Just like the 5 year contract prevented Gray leaving us.
Absolutely they seem pretty worthless. Supporting AA and matching his ambitions is the most effective way of keeping him.

Re: Guiseley

Great interviews with AA and Will on website. Really positive vibe around the club at present. Have not believed we were good enough to make playoffs but last night was a pivotal win for me. The players genuinely look like they believe so perhaps the fans just have to go along with it and give these...

Re: Guiseley

According to the radio commentator, Reid is our emergency keeper option. So he can attack, defend and play in goal. Blimey when they said he could play anywhere in the spine of the team they really meant it! Hatfield clearly the signing of the season but Reid another brilliant acquisition . Only co...

Last seasons game was meaningless for us and I know quite a few going tonight including me. Would not be shocked if we took more like 400.

Re: Spennymoor game off

I see Kettering did a Spenny today and tried to pretend their pitch was OK and allowed players and fans from Hereford to travel before it was inevitably called off just an hour and a half before kick-off. The pitch at Kettering looked nearly as bad as the Football League standard surface at Spennym...

Re: Justin Donowa

Think we have some great assets within the squad in regards to players who could potentially get back into the full time game. Based on age and ability I think Donawa, Storey and Wheatley should certainly be on the radar of some clubs from higher divisions. Agree with the above all 3 are young enou...

Re: Darlington V Alfreton

Biggest worry is our lack of fit defenders. Liddle out for several weeks with a hamstring injury,no Storey today and Galbraith coming off injured at h/t. Reid did well there 2nd half but we are really struggling if Storey and Tez unavailable for Tuesday.

Re: Darlington V Alfreton

Might well play 3 at the back against Alfreton to try to negate their long ball tactics. That would mean we could use our best midfield 3 of Hatfield Holdness and Wheatley,2 wide players and 2 strikers. Elliott Storey Laing Galbraith Holdness Hatfield Wheatley Donawa Reid Martin Rivers Subs. Watson ...

Re: Alun Armstrong 2 part interview from Non-league daily

Great Interview and he comes across really well. On the basis of those articles, it seems he is destined to go higher One thing surprised me. He said he would never sign a player without meeting them first. I never realised other managers did sign players that had not met! Seems to be a pre requisi...

Re: Spennymoor game off

Bit easy Spenny just blaming it on the ref to be honest, he has to make a decision at the time and to be fair to him looking at the photos you can see reasonable doubt in regards to the pitch being fit to start the game. It smacks of the other week when the linesman made a decision of offside, of w...

The point is that if this ends up in court the club will have to be very careful. Being fan owned makes no difference and doesn’t mean fans are entitled to know about such matters.

Re: Spennymoor game off

Laughable anyone would try and defend that. It’s clearly unplayable in that area, and the lino has to run up and down it. I also refuse to believe *that* is the only part (but even if it was, half of the touch line is unplayable - any referee will call that off). It’s was very, very wet on those da...

Re: Spennymoor game off

Apparently some unsavoury Darlo fans broke in and leaned on a water pipe. Of course it snapped and flooded the pitch. Those horrible Darlo fans really have it in for poor old Spenny.

Agree with the above, I don't think we should speculate on such things. He may have chosen to leave, he may have been let go. Whatever, it's his job and we should respect his privacy I think. Regarding sponsors, I still find it odd we haven't tried to sell naming rights to the seating stand. Agreed...

Re: Today's results Saturday January 11th 2020

I think anyone in the bottom 10 from Alfreton and below still could be sucked in to a relegation scrap as Blyth are picking up. Personally I hope Blyth stay up. Also looks like 5th 6th and 7th spots still very much up for grabs. We are very much a part of that at present. Two negatives 1. Our goal d...

Re: Harrogate Match

I agree, came away happy knowing our team put in a fighting performance. Losing Liddle in first half a disappointment as I thought he had been outstanding lately. Team looked tired even from the start, (understandably so), even Hatfield looked slower than normal. Both goals coming from mistakes, bu...

Just fell short today but no disgrace against a strong team. The reality is we would find it very tough in the league above because it is more physical and strength is at a premium.

Re: Signs of global warming

You would expect hard frosts in the Scottish borders, as you would throughout the north east of England as well, but it just isn't happening. You would normally never see fly's anywhere during the winter, so to see one flying round in early January, just goes to show how mild it has been. Climatolo...

Re: Spennymoor Away

Just as an aside on Spenny. It was my first visit since their pitch upgrade and I have to say not sure if their pitch is much different. Surface looks ok but still a noticeable slope on it. Don’t know what it cost but not sure what it has achieved. Bit like the barriers I suspect O’Reilly Builders m...

It’s got a bit off topic but for its worth I would not have Styche back. He has a record of doing well when first joining a club then falling away and moving on. Suspect he has a big ego and is potentially a disruptive character and difficult to manage.

Hatfield might already be my all time favourite Darlo player after just half a season! Agreed, he's fucking incredible. Possibly more to do with getting him insured. Apparently we would have to cover his wages at his parent club if he gets injured playing for us. Therefore we need to insurance to cover this eventuality.

Ground it out on a pitch not conducive to playing good football. Very flat game - perhaps not surprising after the Xmas period. We missed that holding midfielder to put their foot on the ball occasionally, but 3 points is 3 points! Not sure about the comment on the pitch looks ok to me and compared...

Much harder than it should have been. Pleased with the 3 points but lets face it Gloucester were poor and should have been thumped.Still 15 out of 18 points is an excellent return and we are right in the playoff picture now.
