Re: New initiative by the club 'Virtual Tickets'

Just a reminder to anyone who is not aware or who may have forgotten about this fundraiser. Very bad time to be asking for money but the club really needs your help right now. Only £10 pledged in the last 24 hours so really struggling and not even a third of the way there yet. If you can help please...

Re: Coronavirus.

24 cases now in the Darlington area, which makes us the 7th lowest local authority area in England. Is that 7th lowest per head of population? If not probably doesn’t mean that much as I would think Darlington is one of the least populated local authorities and you would expect it to be a low figure.

Re: Season VOIDED

I am not so sure on that I'm sure the government said social distancing could be in place for up to a year. If social distancing is in place, then how can you play football? Not get within 6 feet of an opponent is not going to make for a decent game Without gate income, most ( if not all) NLN sides...

Re: Season VOIDED

After 30+ games the league table does not lie and is as good an indication of teams ability as you could hope to have in these circumstances. If only a small number of games had been played it would be much less so. PPG would be the fairest way to decide things rather than voiding the season I belie...

Re: Season VOIDED

Well, evidently points per game isn't perfect, because some teams will have played a harder schedule than others. Honestly, my concerns lie less with the teams set to be promoted, but more with the teams you are condemning to relegation. South Shields will be very upset, but also, they're quite obv...

Re: Season VOIDED

Agree with Gramps would have decided promotion and relegation on a PPG basis which would have been the fairest way with the majority of the season completed. It would have been transparent and provided a clear resolution to the current situation. Under such a scheme Barrow would be promoted to the E...

Re: Season VOIDED

Don’t think games behind closed doors is a viable option. For a team in our position they would be completely meaningless. Can’t imagine our players would want to risk injuries in such circumstances not to mention the extra burden on medical services if they needed treatment.

Re: Season VOIDED

If the 2019/20 season which started in August 19 and maybe finishes in late 2020 with a big gap of maybe 6 months gap in the middle isn’t screwed up I don’t know what is. Re: Season VOIDED

When exactly next season will start is of course down to what happens in the next few weeks and months, but at least when it does start the authorities will be able to plan what shape it should take. If it does not start until say October or November then they could plan for a shortened season of pe...

Re: Season VOIDED

The trouble for the FA is they were damned if did do something and damned if they didn’t. The fact any contracts expired at the end of April, combined with non-league clubs not being able to pay essential bills without having income, left them with about 2-3 weeks to make a decision. If non-league ...

Re: Season VOIDED

Considering next season could well be affected too then its my view that this season should be concluded properly when appropriate. The FA, if they have the power to void things, also have the power to ban all transfers of players between clubs until the season is concluded, even if the contracts a...

Re: Season VOIDED

Gutting for Shields but agree legal action should not be taken in the current situation. Will be a test for their backer after all he has put in but needs to see the bigger picture.
Expect our league will likely follow suit but we will have to wait and see.

Re: Coronavirus and DFC

Agree Gramps fans need to realise football related matters appear trivial at present.
Having played 3/4 of the season it seems reasonable to make decisions on the basis of PPG. Maybe not ideal but what is now right so hope there will be some agreement that it is the most practical way forward.

Re: The moment we've all been waiting for...

I listened to the game on DFR & when Farsley scored there was almost complete silence, so hard to believe that 50 away fans wouldn't make some sort of celebration noise that could be picked up on the radio. How on earth can you comment on the number of Farsley fans as a result of listening on the r...

I do hope so. It would be exactly what they deserve. Agree with the above sentiment...

Perhaps we could turn this into a fund raiser. Pete could post a cryptic clue on line each day and we could pledge £1 at a time to guess his secret occupation until someone gets it right and the mystery is revealed.

At least we won’t feel aggrieved that we have been robbed of a likely promotion due to the curtailment of the season. We are slap bang in the middle of the table and if it is null and voided it makes no difference to where we would start again next season. On that basis when a resumption happens at ...
