Re: Steve Watson - 2 year contract confirmed
Great interview. Talking about promotion aims 'You hear a lot of managers playing it down, I'm not going to play it down, that's what we have to aim for'. No doom and gloom about our chances next season and beyond. Makes a world of difference. Completely different attitude to Mr Morose at the start...

Re: FA Cup replays scrapped from R1 in 24/25
Easy solution. All teams group together and refuse to play from 1st round onwards unless decision overturned Don’t be silly that would play right in to the hands of the Premier League clubs. They would be very happy to limit it to just Championship and Premier League teams and cut out the little cl...

because the Rugby Club don’t want any further development of BM. This is not true - beyond hear say from fans when has 'no further development' been said. Development to EFL standards may have been mentioned. I believe that it was DJ himself who said that the Rugby Club were against any further dev...

Re: Once the dust settles...
Suppose we could chop the Tin Shed into squares & flog it off to raise funds for improvements. Nostalgia does have a value & I was in there 1960's & 70's too. It does, but lets not let it get in the way of progress. The whole argument is academic anyway, because the Rugby Club don’t want any furthe...

Re: Once the dust settles...
I take it you mean it won't belong to DFC? Yep. Remember the 36 inch water main going diagonally from open end that limits building. Surely we can't get rid of the Tin Shed - only part of Feethams we still have? Of course we could if it meant we could comply with the necessary ground grading requir...

Re: Well how did we do that?
That for me has been transformed by new additions, Main in particular. Would SW been able to do the same with Felix & Hazel? I personally don’t believe so. You don't believe that SW would have been able to do anything with Hazel, who scored 20 goals a season every season, and 21 goals in his first ...

Re: Well how did we do that?
Why do threads always descend into personal point-scoring? I don't really care if someone thought Gowling should have been given more time, or if Martin Gray was the only man to get us out of the mess, or if the signing of an injured Asante was an egregious assault on our very existence as a fan ow...

South Shields Supporters
A minibus carrying a group of Shields fans involved in a serious accident on the A1 on Saturday evening. They were on their way home from the match at Tamworth yesterday afternoon. Apparently 17 people were taken to hospital and 7 of them were reported to be seriously injured. Lets hope all those in...

Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Apr 13th 2024, Staying Up Edition
If we don’t draw next Saturday we will have created a couple of extraordinary sequences. A whole season of away games without a single draw and a run of 26 consecutive games since November without a draw home and away.

Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Apr 06th 2024
Fair enough. Disagree though, they’re absolute cack and I’m not arrogant in saying that. No I agree they were probably the worst team to visit BM this season. I just don’t dare take anything for granted where Darlington FC are concerned. There's been a fair few teams just as bad if not worse this s...

Re: Looks like they're staying...
Yeh, Young won't be back. I'm sure a new GK will be a priority, and I'd hope that we have a good chance of securing Cornish and Barrow on contracts. If we can get those sorted early on, move out a few of the squad players/under-performers, then we should hopefully have a decent core of a side to fl...

Hopefully we can add Scott Barrow to those who will be staying. Listening to his post match interview he is very keen to return next season if he is given the chance.

Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Apr 06th 2024
Over the last 20 games, we’re 8th in the form table and Farsley are 21st. We’re where we are because of Gowling, they’re where they are because they’re not a very good team. We won’t have any bother at the weekend. How long have you been supporting Darlington ? Surely you don’t think it is a forgon...

Re: Darlington v Farsley 13/04/24
Phew that’s a relief. Brilliant effort from the players and management team to get out of the mess we were in. If we can secure the services of Steve and Terry for next season, and provide them with a competitive budget, then I believe we can be in the top half next season, and maybe playoff contend...

Re: Darlington v Farsley 13/04/24
I just hope that Tommy Taylor is named as a sub as knowing our luck Matty Young will get injured in the first 5 mins and witout a keeper on the bench... I have had exactly the same thought. It might seem over cautious to some, but I think for such an important match it would be reassuring to have a...

Re: Darlington v Farsley 13/04/24
Back to reality. Feeling nervous about today, I know we should win on current form, but a couple of bogeys to overcome. Firstly, I don’t think we have a great home record against Farsley, and secondly the curse of the big crowd, when we sometimes seem to freeze. This group of players have overcome a...

Re: Darlington v Farsley 13/04/24
did Banbury get officially relegated last night by Spennymoor which puts them in playoffs at the moment? Lee got Manager of the month & has taken Moors out of the relegation zone & into playoffs. Re: Darlington v Farsley 13/04/24
The club are now stating that 1,600 tickets have been sold in advance for Saturday, and that very few seat tickets remain. Given reasonable weather I would expect a crowd of well over 2,000 for the game.

Ground can fit in 3100 it won’t be anywhere near that reckon 2450 but an excellent 50/50 also reckon kick off delayed. Hopefully, if a lot of supporters buy tickets in advance it will make the process of getting people into the stadium a lot quicker. Maybe a good idea if the club also asked fans to...

Darlington v Farsley 13/04/24
According to the club 1,400 tickets have been sold in advance for the game on Saturday. I am guessing that this figure must include season ticket holders.

Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Apr 06th 2024
I think Southport are still in a spot of bother even though they have 53 points. Their goal difference is only 1 goal better than ours and they have 2 massive games to play. They are at home to Rushall on Saturday, and on current form I quite fancy an away win, and their final match is away at South...

Re: Massive credit to Watson and the board
I take nothing for granted. Not long ago some on here were asserting that 50 points would guarantee safety. Well look where we are now with 52 points and not yet safe.
