Re: Home Kit Vote

Just to make the point that DFCSG membership/Owner numbers are heading towards the 900 number again. That means around 70% of our fan-base on a c1,300 home gate, for example. Just if we're trying to paint the DFCSG membership/Ownership group as a "clique" or having a collective agenda, or - indeed ...

Re: Home Kit Vote

Well the vote will be in soon for the shirt design, personally I prefer the hoops or broken hoops but accept some do not like it, each to there own. I will as usual buy several for my group regardless of whichever wins, as it is a way of helping the club. I have a wardrobe full of Darlo shirts that ...

I agree with some on here but we are never going to please all. I understand the commercial needs of generating income from shirt sales. It is quite an assumption by self appointed voices of the fans that it is just the younger fans that prefer hoops. After over 60 years of following the club I & I...

Thought Adidas were 3 white slashes on black. [/quote] As far as I am aware they have copyright on the 3 stripes. As we would probably be" Grandfathered " in with our 1967/68 design we would most likely win the case but the legal fees would be crippling to even suggest trying. That how these multi m...

Re: Weymouth V Darlington FC FA Trophy

Well done Darlo after a long trip. Well done to those of us that chipped in with the travelling expenses despite the recent performances. It payed off. Let's hope for a decent but easier draw in the next round at home. Then at least the more judgemental of us won't have to bother chipping into the t...

Anything but back to the horrible black & blue stripes that appeared years ago...but then again I am sure some on here would have even liked that monstrosity lol. I'm wearing that shirt right now, I wasn't struck on it at the time but it's growing on me now 28 years later. Shame on you lol. Serious...

Re: FA Trophy travel fund raising Weymouth

I can't remember hearing of any team not reaching a ground because of adverse weather conditions? I can, however remember hearing of a club that had a snowy weather forecast, a perfect pitch (amongst the best in Europe apparently), fantastic pitch covers for any adverse weather, professionally trai...

Not necessary to have 2 drivers with an overnight stay. At this rate, one driver in front with the snowplough, the other in the bus :o We hear about football matches postponed because of unfit pitches etc, but wonder how many matches have been postponed because away team couldn't get there owing to...

Re: Darlington V Liverpool

£7.99 is very reasonable, I doubt dropping it to £5.99 would increase the numbers to warrant a reduction. Especially as Darlofans Radio is free. In fact I would make it £7.99 minimum with an option to round it up for those that choose to or those that have several fans watching together. Liverpool ...

Danny & Nicky Cowley were teachers. Ainsley is a decent manager but I would be interested to see him manage a team in the Evo-Stik / Northern League that doesn't have the pick of players at that level. ….. And as someone mentioned 'multi million point investment'...wonder if there's still potential to deny it I deny it, and as for attendances some keep rambling on about, Darlington only had an average of 288 more than Spennymoor 1471 and 1183 Hartlepool could say the same about Darlington, who have a...

Re: Ex Darlo players -unsporting behaviour?

I was in the Tinshed when the Bobby Baxter "goal" happened, no doubt hanging over the barrier as I did in those days. Too excited to notice or remember but a ricochet off the concrete edge holding one of the pillars supporting the corrugated barrier seems to be the solution, combined with a body or ...

So if any non-elite club get through then they won’t be able to play again until the second round. Doesn’t seem fair...
I suppose under the circumstances it is going to tough all around.
It seems as though our elite status does have it's advantages & we can at least get some league games in.

FA Cup

All 40 FA Cup round one ties, including those involving non-elite teams, will be played as planned from 6-9 November. Elite sports can continue behind closed doors during the four-week lockdown from Thursday but rules on grassroots and amateur sport are to be finalised. However, the government has c...

I like the Red & Black combinations, last season was one of my favorites.
This seasons " Kendal Mint Cake " strip would look better with black shorts rather than white in my opinion.

Re: Curzon Ashton 31/10/20

So if Sousa continues the way he did yesterday & with a fit Will Hatfield back soon, do you play both after the cup tie ? I thought Sousa was more effective when he cut inside, which he did more so in the second half. I suppose Sousa, Hatfield, Wheatley, Rivers would be very tasty going forward or d...

As for the streaming, it goes to show how lucky we are having the team we have at Darlofans radio & Quaker TV. Great performance from the team today. The pitch suited our play, which was slick & fast moving. Campbell was outstanding as was Sousa.
