Re: The home of DFC
The issue over wording of a sign is pathetic. If you go to other groundshares you'll see those "home of xyz FC" of both teams no problem. Cheltenham and gloucester springs to mind from a couple of seasons ago. Maidenhead and Hayes & Yeading also. It's petty rubbish and the rugby club board should ha...

Re: Stadium Blueprint with Waterpipe location
Worth pointing out as well that a lot of existing ground's stands wouldn't pass building regulations and ground grading if they were proposed to be built today. Take Lancaster for example, there would need to be a larger gap between the pitch and the start of the terrace, the same as the tin shed is...

Re: Full time
Better to have the pick of the best part time players vs the worst full time dross. Part time clubs can be successful in the conference, look at Woking from recent seasons, narrowly missed the playoffs in 12/13 with a budget of 350k

Re: The Arena
There was a meeting yesterday involving the Rugby Club, Council and Darlo. Apparently progress is being made but very slowly. One driving force behind the talks, is that if we don't do a deal with the Rugby Club in the next 3 or 4 weeks, a substantial grant from the FA will be withdrawn. Presumably...

Option 2 Once you've established yourself in the Premiership and europe with crowds of 20000 then I dont think Mr Kuwaiti pulling out would cause the spiral you suggest it would, theres so much money at that level that Mr Abu Dhabi will be along soon enough to pick up the pieces, either that or Mike...

Re: EVO PREM SIGNINGS
Statements like that from clubs serve no purpose other than to make the club look unprofessional regardless of the circumstances. Playground stuff. You cannot begrudge a young player, out of contract, that has been given the opportunity to move up 2 divisions. He is under 23 and Blyth will be eligib...

Those wearing the rose tinted glasses and spouting rubbish such as "I wouldnt come and watch us if we were on 3G" unless you can pull 100k a year out a hat or suggest some other way of off field income then youd do best to keep quiet. Will, I disagree with all of your post. Keep quiet ! Why? I'm no...

big YES from me. "football is played on grass" Not at this level, beyond september it is often played on cabbage patches, dustbowls, mudbaths or sand. In order for football to be played at all there must be a team, teams cost money. Other than gate receipts and a bit of sponsorship, this club has no...

A former respectable conference south side bought out by an oxfordshire based insurance company who also bought the freehold to their ground and have proceeded to offer ridiculous wages (Constable is rumoured to on £1800 a week). It will all end in tears. They had a gate of circa 150 for their match...

false illusions of grandeur. Most clubs, especially at Conf Prem and below manage perfectly well with 1 twitter account for the club. Why fragment the support? the idea that we have to help spread the word reenforces the fact that floating fans, members of the local community and others who follow t...

Mobi is right. This forum is not the judge, jury and executioner. The photo should have been sent to the club only and let the club deal with it. Love people clutching at anything that can be used to call on the doomsday scenarios. "Apparently this, had a mate that told me that, theyre giving away free money on the turnstiles" whatever. A challenge for them yes, but with vastly reduced running costs (they won´t have a playing budget of 500k, ...

the .co.uk address we could in theory have a good chance of gaining control of. Re: What happens to the Stadium now? An idea!
I said it in the other thread. It was a travesty to build it and a travesty to leave it. If the council want a community stadium theres a 25,000 seater one going spare with the potential to have all the classroom space, IT facilities and community facilities etc for a fraction of the cost that it wo...
