Re: It's time to go

.... On our Official site we merely re-produce the rose tinted press release issued by the NL. Think we have missed an opportunity to inform the fans whether or not we have signed the "No Confidence letter" given the deadline has now passed. Its probably a very sensible approach by the club for a n...

Great article - remember thinking the money we got for those lads was incredible It was incredible. I think we owed a big thank you to Kenny Dalglish and were lucky that he was mates with Hodgy and willing to do him a favour. Think you are stretching it a bit to say King Kenny was doing his old tea...

Re: Punishment for the Boston game

The E.G.M. letter has now been sent and it's a very good read. It presents multiple reasons why the board must go. Was listening to an interview think it was Hemel Hempstead's chairman. He said a vote of no confidence isn't a vote for the board to actually go. It's to drive a change. He feels they ...

You can view it on Ollie's twitter page.
Based on DJs recent interview I presume we will certainly be signing the letter. Anyone know how many clubs need to sign it to force the EGM?

Re: Terry Melling

Suprised how much response this initial post of sad news has generated - didn't realise there were so many posters of my age on here. I remember Shoot - quite poor coverage really but in those days teams like Darlo didn't get on TV, so it was still quite an event. Programme dominated by 'the big3',...

Re: South Shields

Briggs has a good job and doubt he would want to go full time, and by all accounts a good player who scores a few too. Problem may be spenny and Gateshead could offer more I suppose. Is it all about the money? I don't know much about this player at all but we are known as a club who can develop pla...

Fact is no one knows what might or might not have happened but what is clear is that developing Feethams any further would have been problematical.

Re: George Reynolds

I wonder if he hadn’t been our ‘Knight in shining armour’ and paid off our debts would we have went bust and lost Feethams anyway? I like to think if he hadn’t turned up that day we’d have found another buyer or ended up starting again at Feethams and 20 years later we’d be in a much better positio...

Re: When is null & void.......

I wonder what is happening about the clubs facing charges for not playing? Have these hearings taken place yet? Well given you can't just refuse to play games, that would set a dangerous precedent. To protect the integrity of the competition all clubs in question should receive the fines per the co...

Re: When is null & void.......

The null and void vote is totally relevant because the vote was to end the season with no promotion. You have a view on what you believe the word "suspend" promotion meant in the official statement. I disagree and believe it was clear it means no promotion this season. At that stage, there was no m...

Re: When is null & void.......

I am not really sure how the integrity of the competition would have been damaged if given the circumstances clubs that wanted to play on had. I would actually argue that the removal of threat of relegation from the division above is more damaging to the integrity of the National League than the al...

Re: When is null & void.......

Devils advocate but if it’s a new competition why should it be placed at step 2? At the last count it was down to 16 interested teams I think, and they’re trying to claim 2 promotion spots out of that. From a Darlo point of view I’d be disappointed if the outcome is that we lose the revenue from ho...

Re: When is null & void.......

I agree Gramps that "suspended" (promotion and relegation) is the key word, but is also open to interpretation. I interpret it as promotion/relegation not applying ( suspended) to NLN/NLS for season, so we will have to agree to differ.

Re: Player of the season

Wheatley for me, he is consistent, passionate, dependable always gives 100%, unlike Sousa who is none of the above. Chaman a close second for me. To say Sousa doesn’t give 100% is just uncalled for, and blatantly untrue. The consistency point I get, but to say he isn’t passionate and doesn’t give h...

Re: Player of the season

All I have said is in my opinion that Sousa doesn't have all the qualities I've listed above. These are qualities I judge a Player of the season on. Clearly he's got other qualities that the rest of the team don't have so I don't think I am being entirely negative.

Are the highlights posted yet? Trying to watch this Hatfield incident and can't find it.

Can't beat getting off on a technicality. Armstrong seemed to suggest it was probably a second yellow just not a straight red but we are able to appeal a straight red.

Re: Darlington V Hornchurch Trophy Quarter Final

I mean, I'm not really one to moan about gamesmanship as I love it when we do it (very rarely, incidentally), but they were delaying and claiming everything and wasting time and the ref was gobbling it up like he couldn't get enough. Why blow dead on 95 when he's stopped the game for a minute for a...

Not great today, but have we seen a worse ref this season?
Apart from the handball at the end are we really looking to blame the referee for our performance?
