The original plan had the Tin Shed at the other end, until Northumbrian Water objected and the plans had to be revised.

Re: Well how did we do that?
Why do threads always descend into personal point-scoring? I don't really care if someone thought Gowling should have been given more time, or if Martin Gray was the only man to get us out of the mess, or if the signing of an injured Asante was an egregious assault on our very existence as a fan own...

Re: Well how did we do that?
The fans played a huge part too - without raising the £30k Watson wouldn't have been able to bring in the players he did.

Re: Darlington v Farsley 13/04/24
We’ve had a few 3-1 wins under Watson. I haven’t done my research, but I’d guess that was the most regular scoreline since he took over.

Re: Whether today
If darlo win it will be down to the players and management, not because a few fans made a request to am imaginary being (or because I wore my lucky underpants, or other such superstitions).
Say a prayer to your God Iif it makes you feel better, but don't expect it to impact the outcome.

Re: When Watson and Mitchell took over…
It’s those Fred Bloggs putting in their £20 a game that are the lifeblood of a football team, and will be the ones picking up the pieces after the chancers, crooks and grifters have moved on. They have every right to question the motives and integrity of the people taking over - as any Darlo fan wil...

Re: Easter Monday at Warrington Town
Just seen the goals. Fantastic tackle from Rivers in the lead up to the first goal - his contribution is often overlooked by some.
Main has scored 4 so far, but how many has he created? He is one of the biggest reasons for our change in fortune.

That doesn't look too safe! I think the seats we left behind at Bishop would probably be a safer bet.

Interesting to see Hatfield, Griffiths and Cornish all dropped, and good to see Nelson back on the Bench. At least we will have some options to change things around if it isn't working out.

Re: Darlington V Chorley
There seems to be a fair bit of whitewashing of Armstrong’s contribution to our malaise. Gowling was woeful, certainly, and made a bad situation worse. But he inherited a shitshow - 2023 under Armstrong was execrable, and he really shouldn’t have been kept on for this season. We are in this mess bec...

Re: Leamington new ground
Am I right in thinking that the Leamington ground will be all seater (unclear from the plans)? I think we would need to preserve terrracing in any future stadium (and possibly half time migration), i would imagine that would cut the cost too. One big stand, and 3 tin sheds would be sufficient for ou...

If only we’d brought back Martin Gray, like the Facebook cognoscenti demanded. I imagine we’d be in play off contention now.

I also have a copy but have no memory of how/where I bought it.
It’s great to have a photographic document of times gone by. Feethams seems like another world now. The memories (and smells) of playing there are fading in my aging brain.

Re: Football Regulator
There are a lot of grand words in the announcement, but it remains to be seen whether the regulator will have teeth. Football clubs at the top level tend to be impervious to regulation, have all the power and money, and will, I imagine, continue to act in the same way. It’s a welcome move in the rig...

Re: Spennymoor V Darlington
This “rivalry” talk is embarrassing. There are adult Darlington fans who have never seen a meaningful competitive game against Hartlepool, but have seen many against Spennymoor. It’s all relative. You can choose to live in the past, or the present. Whilst historically Hartlepool were our rivals, our...

Re: Points deduction
Thanks. The decision there was a 2 point deduction suspended on the basis that there wasn’t another breach in the 21/22 season. That would mean it’s gone, unless we have another one that we don’t know about.
