Re: Home Kit Vote
Gramps, I realise you're not trying to create an argument, just stimulate a bit of debate. With that it mind and I know you don't particularly like these, but hypothetical question. if there was an increase in sales of a non hooped shirt and that allowed us to bring in a new player, would sentiment ...

Re: Home Kit Vote
I don’t think it’s time to move on from hoops forever, but if home shirt sales are falling, then commercially it’s reasonable to have a break for one year. I actually like 3, but if we were going to do something different I would have gone with quarters which we have played in before, or maybe just ...

Re: Away to Bristol rovers
My biggest worry about this season and it showed again today is that quite frequently if we let a goal in, heads drop. It usually affects all teams, but it seems to affect us more. We were at least on a par with them until the first goal went in and then it went downhill from there. You could make a...

Re: Guiseley v Darlington
I understand the argument about McMahon and his experience, but I haven’t been impressed with the games he’s played so far. It has been a bit stop start for him and before this season he hasn’t had much football and I’m sure he’ll come good, remember Hunt looked rusty in his first couple of games, b...

Re: Darlington V Telford
To be fair Wheatley has tried to bring down players who have got away from him before, but he’s so bad at tackling he’s always missed them

Re: Back to Basics Boston on Tuesday
Didn’t we have a dip in form after the Walsall replay last year? We do appear to have a stronger squad this year though.

Re: Darlington v Prescot Cables
Reasonable performance today in a match we dominated. Like another poster I thought Hunt got caught a bit when players ran at him, but I suspect that’s all down to rustiness. His composure and coolness on the ball though was something we missed last year. Very early days and all players need games t...

Re: Darlo TV
The coverage today was so much better then I was expecting. I think I was expecting something like you get on sky when they have multiple matches on the red button. There you get one camera and no replays. Even that would have been excellent at our level, but what we got was a slick professional exp...

Re: Update Required?
Well DJ obviously saw my post yesterday morning and made it a priority to answer my 'flapping' questions as soon as he could. On a serious note that was a great interview answered the questions he could, but gave a level of reassurance and where the club was at, for the ones he couldn't. Only gripe ...

Re: Update Required?
Gramps, I don't think the club are trying to hide anything and in my first post I did state I'm not trying to knock the club, but if it's come across like that, it wasn't meant to. Without trying to cause any sort of argument what unsubstantiated rumours am I creating? I'm in agreement people have t...

Re: Update Required?
So I get the points raised about the season starting. An update on the clubs thoughts would be nice, but understand they may not want to say too much at the moment. The playing side though I don't get. Would we all be happy if in the middle of a season we didn't hear anything on the playing side for...

I did ask what your thoughts were on the playing side, so no info on how the squad is getting on for two weeks is flapping. Interesting.

Re: Update Required?
I’ve just looked at that statement again and there’s nothing about current season ticket holders. I wouldn’t be bringing any of these points up at all if we were 3-4 weeks away from the season starting, but were 7 days away.

Re: Update Required?
Fair enough, but maybe their thoughts on the situation would be possible. I understand they may not know the stance on streaming yet, but could they give more info on how it would work if we are allowed it. We don’t even know where we’ll actually be playing yet. The Arena looks favourite, but no one...

Update Required?
Am I being over dramatic being worried that with one week to go to a potential start to the season, so little is coming out of the club at the moment? Although we know the club don't want to start the season without fans, what are their views following Thursday meeting with the National League. Do t...

Re: Latest friendly
Old Git you may well be right, but you haven’t given any evidence to back your posts up which is the point Gramps is making. From what I’ve seen he’s a decent shot stopper, but if you’re not one of those as a goalkeeper there’s little point in playing. The more important attributes that set you asid...

Re: Latest friendly
Out of interest which ofthe goals is his fault. The penalty is obviously a dive and the fourth is a mix up, so you can argue he could have done better, but it looks like he’s getting there before the ball is poked past him. He has no chance for goals two and three.

I see 30 MPs have signed a letter to the sports minister asking for fans to be allowed to attend non-league matches. I wonder if Mr Gibson was one of them.

Re: Ground share
As Middlesbrough will have to cap their capacity, I know two Boro non season ticket holding fans would go to the Arena so they can see some live football. I don’t think this would be unique to just Darlo either.

H1987 as you’ve stated you won’t go to the Arena, I’m assuming you want us to play at BLackwell, I asked this question before, but how would you make it viable it the present situation? How would you make up the shortfall in revenue?

Re: Ground share
Wow, those people who don’t want to go to the Arena, it’s a simple choice of either playing there or effectively get zero income if playing at BM. Genuinely to those people, what is your master plan for the how the club survives if only 500-700 people (the majority if not all would be season ticket ...

Re: Maguire & Langstaff Released
So other than a goalkeeper we need a mobile attacking midfielder, although and I suspect I’m in the minority here I’m a bit worried about cover for central defence. However, it’s much easier to get a central defender on loan then it is a forward. The other issue for me and its the same as last year ...

Re: Retention for next year
Wheatley is a defensive midfielder his job isn’t to score goals. That’s not to say he won’t chip in with 1-2, but his job is to sit in front of the back 4. Armstrong plays with a defensive midfielder, so unless he changes his style of play, where stuck with the useless lump of lard, who happens to b...

Re: Chester game....
Just one game too many yesterday and with Chesters constant pressing we couldn’t get going. The only real criticism I would have was with AA putting Atkinson in. He never really went looking for the ball while Wheatley and Reid did, so didn’t give us much of an outlet. Didn’t really understand why H...

Re: Guiseley
Very good win tonight. First 20 minutes is probably the poorest we’ve played for along time and it took us 15 minutes before we managed to string more than 2-3 passes together. How we managed to be 1-0 up I’ll never know. Watson had a shocking first 20 minutes and it was his mistake that led to the ...
