Re: The Last 6 Fixtures vs Next 6 Fixtures Comparison
I'd love to be proved wrong but I expect more of the same from the next set of fixtures. Nothing I've seen this season suggests that the team have the fight or the quality to suddenly do a 180 and start looking like a competent outfit. This is 2009/10 levels of being woefully out of our depth.

Re: Scarborough Fa Cup
In the league, Scarboro have lost all 5 of their away games while we have yet to win a home league game. After their last defeat, 4-2 to Rushall, their message board read like something I've seen before somewhere: "Woeful", "Not enough quality", "We desperately need a scorer", "We should be asking ...

Sad to see Alun go as I have a lot of time for him as a manager and a person, but results this calendar year are just unacceptable at any level.

Re: Marcus Maddison interview in the Non League Paper
Not sure if anyone here listens to/watches the Undr The Cosh podcast with ex footballers Jon Parkin and Chris Brown, they have a different footballer guest each week ranging from Premier League to non-league, and there have been a lot of ex-players with stories of falling out of love with the game, ...

Plenty of contenders from the Staunton era but Keith Gillespie's brief cameo is still burned into my mind.

Hopefully the proposed move of our training base to Catterick works out, and we can cast the net further to Yorkshire/North West in our search for improvements.

Re: Martin Gray
We are in a bit of a holding pattern whilst the work behind the scenes continues with the new ground etc. DJ said on the webinar last week that achieving promotion would be expensive for us, although we'd make it work. We all want a winning team on the pitch but the long term infrastructure must tak...

I must say, I was very impressed with everyone who spoke on the webinar. Results on the pitch are the bread and butter of any football club, of course. But it's easy to get bogged down in patches of form and forget about the wider picture of the club as a whole. It sounds like things are moving in a...

Re: Compensation from Gray breaking contract?
I look forward to hearing the outcome regarding compensation. I see loads of posts about Gray leaving and taking players with him, yet all of these people are/were under contract? If anyone is able to leave free of charge then the board have a lot to answer for. I don't care if they're volunteers, t...

Fuck Martin Gray. A chequebook manager who has bailed the second he hasn't got one of the biggest budgets in the division to work from.
I look forward to him being out of work in a year's time.

Re: Short-termism
This level and the level above are increasingly filled with bankrolled teams. The fact that Darlington used to be a league team is absolutely irrelevant in 2017. If we weren't Darlington, but another club which lacked that history, you'd look at our situation and have to say that playing in the Foot...

I wonder if the fantastic success we've had over the last five years is both a blessing and a curse. I sincerely hope there aren't too many fans out there who expect to be challenging for promotion in every single season, regardless of what division we're in.

Interesting to see some some 'Fans' opinions. if Raj does come back, are you willing to stop supporting the players, staff and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to regain a reputation for a club that was at rock bottom? If the fans don't come together on this one, the last 5 years will have bee...

That opening half hour is as good a performance as they come at this level, played them off the park. Massive credit to the players for playing as well as that when it would be easy for their heads to have dropped after what's happened.

Going from Pawel Abbott up front in 08/09, to Lee "Toblerone Head" Thorpe at the start of 09/10 was a culture shock.
Mor Diop was another from that horrific Staunton season. I've somehow managed to repress the memory of most of them, although there were about 50 of them.

When we are unable to take promotion because we don't have access to a good enough ground I think this is the only thing that could make me lose interest. I've survived administrations and four-division relegations alright but kicking off a season in the Evostik Premier with no chance of going up w...

Well yes, I meant in two promotions' time we wouldn't be able to take it. You get the point though.Quakerz wrote:Wrong, we are stuck if we get one more promotion, because that will put us in the Evostik Premier, and that's as high as we can go.
