Re: Will Smith Signs

It’s a good move for him in reality isn’t it. Professional football but with a real chance of playing regularly.

We couldn’t stage football matches without public liability cover...quite the leap from not having insurance for Wheatley to that though. I always thought it was down to players to sort out medical insurance - I thought we may have some protection that effectively compensates for his salary whilst i...

.. On the subject of the truth. “The truth, you can’t handle the truth” a point proven when you still denied that Brad had made a 7 figure investment in Spennymoor...and that was before last season when he’s now made clear that promotion is the goal... Re: Notes from the fans' forum

Yep, pretty much. Although it's not the full amount you need in. We had ourselves to blame for that playoff situation really. Blackwell was completely inadequate with only 250 seats. That stand doubling in size really made a huge difference. I suspect it would've been cheaper if it was done all at ...

As it stands, in such a scenario, the fans are left to pick up the pieces from their devastated club Unfortunately I think this would be ripe for abuse. Rack up debts, blame it on unscrupulous owner start again where you were. The only thing the FA could really do to stop these scenarios is rules a...

Re: 3 players released

You are guessing because the players from further afield were largely on one-year or one-year plus option deals. But then again that's what comes of dipping your oar into a club that you know precious little about. Did I mention Darlington at all? I hate to break it to you, but players at Darlingto...

Re: old programmes

Tbh this does sound like something which could be set up online to help with the logistics. Upload a photo of your programmes to a searchable e-library. If there is a buyer for your programme take it to the club so it is available for collection. Might make it easier for people to find and saves on ...

Re: Released players

Striker Carl Finnigan has left South Shields due to new work commitments and has signed for Whickham FC... what a waste. Didn't he help to destroy us in that Cup humiliation at BM? He got 72 goals in 115 appearances for the Mariners... not a bad haul. I bet they'll be desperate to try to lure Magui...

Hopefully we get that play-off position we were promised to get last season Assume that is tongue in cheek? To be honest it looks pretty sensible when you look at the map.

Oxford stretches the division a little more south but not too far east at the same time.

Even with the BTB the overall budget I’d heard whilst at the player awards is going to be greatly reduced.
We knew that from the netcafe though.

I remember celebrating what we thought was a fantastic comeback. 1998 v Sheff Utd at Feethams in the cup second leg. Should have gone through on the away goals rule when Devos scored in 84th min. We were down to 10 men in that game also, Glen Naylor was sent off before half time and we still manage...

Only one I would want from York is Bartlet. They weren't very much better than us this season although they were full time. See I'd be happy to have a loan keeper as our first choice next season. All the loan keepers we have had the past couple of seasons have been very good / wanted to prove a poi...

George Green is meant to have ability but has struggled with injury He'd be another Henshall I think. All the potential years ago but doesn't seem to be able to actually fulfill it anywhere he has been. It's a risk and one which rarely pays off when you look at his track record. He was originally f...

There has never been a woman managing a blokes team has there at any level? If a female was serious about doing it i guess the best way would be for her to start off doing a bit coaching somewhere. Re: Time for Gray to finish the job.....

Got to remember wasn't Platt's squad of 1996 basically Hodgson's team, then obviously in 1999/2000 he had a good go again (I suspect that he had a bit of budget that time mind as I don't think Heaney, Gray, Aspin or Nogan will have come cheap). In terms of the Houghton era. Was Joachim a Sotnick sig...

Contracts expire end of April for players at most clubs not in the play-offs but there’ll still be plenty of players around by the time we recruit a new manager. Watson didn’t do too badly at Gateshead with his 11th hour signings
Depends if current FT or currently PT.

Just seems to waste a few weeks that could have seen players get fixed up elsewhere. Players are signing off for the summer - they won't be getting tied down to new clubs in the next week or so. Contracts won't even expire until the end of May and there will be no training taking place until what J...

Yeh I quite like Kelly as well - but he did reject York’s approaches before they got Watson. Did he? I don’t recall that. lol nope he didn’t. I got my wires crossed massively. I remembered speaking to Hyde about him turning down another job...it was FC United. http://nonleaguedaily.com/hyde-united-...
