Re: Law changes season 19/20

"Obvious goalscoring opportunity"

Factors to consider possession, defender, distance & direction. You have to tick all the boxes ie have possession, no covering defender, proximity to goal, heading in the direction of the goal to be denial of an obvious goalscoring opportunity.

Re: Darlo -Diary .We need significant change.

No ulterior motive just pointing out that as the majority shareholder/owner I’ve talked to one of the board members last Saturday and he indicated the majority would prefer a change in management I'm pretty sure that had a member of the DFCSG board told you this then it wasn't with the purpose of p...

Re: Law changes season 19/20

For a player to commit a foul throw, one whole foot has to be completely over the line. This was flagged up by Lineker on MOTD recently after a recent controversial goal, which might have involved Everton but I can't remember for sure. I've often shouted out to linesmen about this - but was seeming...

Re: Law changes season 19/20

Go on then...I'll bite. Name the black and white contraventions of law which have been seen this season that aren't simply attributed to differences in opinion over level of contact? The bigger issue is complete lack of understanding of law from pundits and players. Still this season an offside was ...

Re: Guiseley match thread

Couldnt understand why we insisted on playing the ball in the air and not on the floor. They were like something out of Avatar so we had no chance of competing most of the time. Did anyone else notice TWs body language? Was just leaning on the dugout or sat down most of the game. He does that most ...

Re: Tommy Wright: 19/20 Season. Yay or Nay

What is a budget to the extent that it is a finalised thing that can be shared to the league our of interest? Budget is your desired spend / limit on what you can spend - but on what exactly - what possible way is there to enforce accuracy of that submission? I can imagine there could be submissions...

Re: TW - Learning His Trade

I am not sure either Gillies or Turnbull staying was necessary our choice. Both made it clear they wanted to leave. Also - I think if we thought Hughes was ok big money I suspect Gillies who had playing football for us as his full time job was on more. I don’t really think gillies was particularly g...

Re: TW - Learning His Trade

The stats don't really look good for Wright no matter how you cut them...has he ever had a third season somewhere though? It probably is blind faith, because there isn't really a logical reason but I'm kind of happy to stick with him and see what happens. I don't actually think he would take us down...

Am I missing some sort of history we have with Guiseley which would indicate segregation is required?

Was there some sort of brawl and police incident in the first ever competitive fixture between the sides at Blackwell Meadows that I missed.

Re: Next season

Yes we can. Martin Gray got us into the top five with a budget not massively removed from TW's this season. And if a manager as limited as Gray could do that, better managers certainly could at the very least make us competitive. Is this right? I thought Gray budget was threatened to be reduced by ...

Re: Piece on us in the new When Saturday Comes

I expect most people who don't need stuff to fill an article will;
1. look at the clock
2. double take and think "that doesn't seem right"
3. look at their phone or watch for the time
4. realise "oh - clock is broke"
5. move on with their lives

Joins the ranks of Adrian Webster, Reece Styche and Franz Burgmeier as internationals to pull on the mighty black and white hoops in recent times. Any others i'm missing? Possibly Jason De Vos? Looking at wikipedia I am not sure he has played for Jamaica since 2014. If playing for country before us...

Don't think I have ever heard a worse idea! Has this season not taught you and lo anything? Despite DJ stating the local pool of players we can afford is getting smaller as PierremontQuaker says we need a local Manager with local connections it is not all about finances. Because this season we have...

Re: Statement from the board

If he does go it is essential we appoint someone local, someone who lives local and has good knowledge of north east football. A large majority of our players and staff should be local - we are living from hand to mouth, and are only sustainable if we limit as much waste as possible. Maybe this is ...

Re: Hereford v Darlington Match Thread

But yes as you say just another piece of evidence adding to the list of tactical ineptitude we can attribute to our manager. Ok there has been some actually decent observations ...

Wasn’t Boston more to do with some irregularities when they actually got promoted from the Conference as it was then? Or creditors in that division they owed perhaps.

I was quite young at the time mind so may have completely got the wrong end of the stick with it.

Re: Tommy Wright

One thing I find very strange in all this is the role of White. He isn't exactly the shy retiring type - if he disagreed with Wright he would surely say so, and this would be difficult to keep private, and you would think he would have walked if he was being sidelined. So do they come as a package,...

Yeh 100% - which is what makes today all the more disappointing. At the same time other teams around us if we hit them 2-0 by half time they wouldn’t come back (it’s why they are where they are).

On current form we're bound to go down. Form last 3 games / 5 games / 10 games Darlington - 1 / 2 / 10 Guiseley - 0 / 2 / 5 Leamington - 1 / 1 / 6 FC United - 5 / 6 / 9 Ashton United - 0 / 3 / 10 We are not brilliant but no matter how you decide to cut ‘form’ we are still by no means the worst. Re: Hereford v Darlington Match Thread

That is an especially poor result after taking a 2 goal lead into half time. It’s so so annoying as we clearly have the quality to score and get into good positions but the way we collapse once we concede is horrific. I am still not that concerned 7 points with 8 games to go...Leamington and Guisele...
