Re: Local clubs released lists
David Stockdale also confirmed as left York https://yorkcityfootballclub.co.uk/club-statement-david-stockdale-and-matthew-lever-depart/ Was he on their playing staff, or was it an off-field role he held? I can't remember. Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk I think it was a dual role...though h...

Re: Gateshead - ineligible for playoffs
National League seem to have changed their mind on the impacts. Originally there was a bye for Solihull Moors who would have played Gateshead. They have now given the bye to Altrincham who finished in a higher position and Halifax have had to change their plans to play Solihull Moors...who didn't th...

Re: Asante Starts
If he doesnt manage to sort himself out by the new season then there may be a compromise with a loan.
He could avoid travelling, he can get playing again and the burden would be shared between two clubs.
I am sure there would be moans about it regardless.

Re: Chester Away All ticket
I think a lot of clubs have players who are deemed a 'burden' on the wage bill - it's part of the gamble when you contract someone it protects you if they do well - it protects them if they don't. I am not sure there is a way to 'fix' making a mistake, well other than never to give a contract over 1...

Re: Chester Away All ticket
I didn't think he was injured to be honest just thought he was a desperate and ultimately poor signing. Having disappointing signings who end up persistently injured is not a particularly recent phenomenon. We had a brief reprieve from it when we had most players on non-contract terms but otherwise ...

Re: Chester Away All ticket
It’s quite clear that Steve and Terry don’t want him. I’m hoping a club like Radcliffe will take him as Bernard and Jonno love him. I’ve lost count of the players we have signed that are not fit enough. We need to avoid injury prone players, at the very least not offer them long contracts! Sent fro...

Re: Steve Watson - 2 year contract confirmed
excellent news, announce little Terry soon and happy days, onto BTB and real optimism for next season. I'm not sure we'd be contracting our assistant - could be wrong but usually they just come with the manager at our level. Holloway was contracted. Very good point and actually got the impression R...

Re: FA Cup replays scrapped from R1 in 24/25
Happy for the PL clubs to have a choice. If they don't want to play a replay they can pull out again that stage. They must recompense their opponent with their television proceeds from the initial game (if any). Lower league side gets to progress. Get the prize money for the round, get rewarded fina...

Re: Once the dust settles...
I think one of the prime examples has got to be Accrington Stanley. There hospitality options for the size of their club/stadium/fan base are awesome, and you can see why the owner has spent so much money in recent years upgrading specifically in to that side of the business "losses last season of ...

Re: Chester Away All ticket
I can imagine that the Chester fans will be a bit miffed on missing out on the playoffs. It could lead to a bit of a hostile atmosphere. I could understand it if they lost it on the day due to a bad performance but those turning up on Saturday know the situation. More like it will be a dead rubber ...

Re: Once the dust settles...
I don't believe that is the case. My understanding is that DRFC don't want development that would require their clubhouse to be replaced. Which essentially means BM could be developed sufficiently to mean NL standards but not to EFL. *If* we could move the pipe then that gives the full footprint of...

Re: View from the Board/DJ
I have no idea but I find it incredibly strange that literally every other club manages to update their fans on this kind of stuff and the majority aren’t fan owned! How many other clubs are in our situation? Reliant on being considered and complementary to town plans to meet a social need to deter...

Re: Once the dust settles...
For those talking about stadium requirements: For National League North you need to have 500 seats and show the ability of how you can upgrade your ground to 4000 capacity. For National League there are no other requirements but to show you can upgrade your ground to 5000 capacity. I would love to ...

Re: View from the Board/DJ
Aye, it just rubbed me up the wrong way listening to it. To be honest, it feels like there is an air of arrogance about it. We just want to know *something*. I can even deal with it if the honest answer is we just can’t afford it as a football club. Fine. But this kind insider ‘things are going wel...

Re: Once the dust settles...
I would say the question is, next season - are we going to behave like a normal football club ie properly go for a playoff place, or not? I am not sure that even close to a majority of clubs are 'properly going for a play off place'...wouldn't suggest it is the norm by any stretch. We behaved like ...

Re: Once the dust settles...
We are hardly going to be able to pull a new stadium out of our backsides at short notice if we somehow managed promotion We wouldn't need to. If we were promoted any time soon we could update BM. The changes needed to stay in NL will obviously cost money but they aren't the cost of a new stadium. ...

Re: Looks like they're staying...
It depends what options players have. If they don't have full time options then what.
They are currently not able to get into the team for struggling NL - where do you go in full time football from there.

Re: Looks like they're staying...
I think it all depends who is available from elsewhere. I wouldn't keep anyone if there is better available. Wouldn't surprise me if Michael Duckworth (York) and Will Smith (Harrogate) are available this summer. Luke Charman's contract is up at Fylde and he hasn't played for the first team since Jan...

Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Apr 06th 2024
Fair enough. Disagree though, they’re absolute cack and I’m not arrogant in saying that. No I agree they were probably the worst team to visit BM this season. I just don’t dare take anything for granted where Darlington FC are concerned. There's been a fair few teams just as bad if not worse this s...

Re: Looks like they're staying...
Yeh, Young won't be back. I'm sure a new GK will be a priority, and I'd hope that we have a good chance of securing Cornish and Barrow on contracts. If we can get those sorted early on, move out a few of the squad players/under-performers, then we should hopefully have a decent core of a side to fl...

Re: Chester Away All ticket
I did think they couldn't offer us £19 seating whilst home fans have the option of £16 standing. However I must be wrong because this seems what Chester do every game. Always assumed the had to offer something at the same lower price home fans were being offered. Even if only small numbers. No. You...
