Re: Stick yer ESL up yer ass

Totally agree it is chicken feed, but what other way can fans have an effect on the way these people think? Give up your sky and BT sport subscriptions. Go any watch a local non-league side on a Saturday / mid-week. Boycott pubs that are paying for BT and sky subscriptions. Don't support the sponso...

Re: Integrity in the National League!!

Yet this is perfectly OK if it only happens outside the Football League. I am not sure it is perfectly ok...but with the current situation and in line with the votes of the member clubs it is where we are...there was actually some objection to the NLN and NLS season ending. And many on here felt th...

Re: Appeal

Hopefully a little common sense does prevail here. There are so many variables and different responses by different clubs. I do worry of all clubs we are actually in the worst position. At least the likes of Spennymoor just simply said we cannot and will not play the remainder of the season very ear...

Already mentioned it https://mikeamosblog.wordpress.com/2021/04/13/april-12-2021-satan-1-football-0/ That is even more bizarre "Already, it may be recalled, the FA had decreed that there would be a new Step 4 league in the north and that, despite a compelling, comprehensive and finely argued propos...

Re: George Reynolds

According to his mate Mike Amos, we Darlo fans may just be a bunch of ungrateful wretches: "He became Darlington FC chairman with the best intentions, invested millions just to keep the club solvent and a great deal more on what became the 25,000-capacity Reynolds Arena, on the edge of town. If it ...

2 relatively unknown youngsters from a 4th Division team.
To be fair the BBC report suggests they were anything but unknown amongst scouting networks though.

Great article - remember thinking the money we got for those lads was incredible It was incredible. I think we owed a big thank you to Kenny Dalglish and were lucky that he was mates with Hodgy and willing to do him a favour. Coppinger was highly rated (can see what that came from now given the sto...

Re: Punishment for the Boston game

And that’s one of the big flaws here. The National League has treated each “offence” individually, apparently oblivious to the fact there’s a pandemic on. Sticking rigidly to the rules in the face of exceptional circumstances is moronic and bad governance. Their lack of flexibility is part of the r...

They have made too many big mistakes for too long. They are a bad bunch and need to go. Some of their actions and decisions are indefensible. I don't know enough to be honest about what role each played to make any judgement on them personally. From what Jim Parmenter has said, and the revelation t...

We are effectively saying our just cause for not playing Boston was it would make us insolvent yet played another game a week later and actually probably have enough money in the bank to cover the cost of the Boston game - so that game was no actual threat to our financial existence. Common sense is great but also utterly irrelevant in court if you have not fulfilled your role as a company director. Personal financial and criminal liability and being banned from being a company director in future. Dead easy if it's not you in that position. Are you claiming that the league boar...

You’re once again siding with the figures of authority though, as you ALWAYS do. We've had this debate before. Siding versus trying to understand or put into perspective why things may have been done. HM Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services made some remarks along this line yeste...

Lo originally said he fully expected the charges to be cancelled and now they have been enforced seems to be suggesting the board had no option but to go ahead with them because of their duties as directors. Yep. I still can't believe that clubs will actually have to pay these fines. I don't believ...

Was that the charge or was it just failure to fulfil? I'm going by memory here as I can't be bothered to hunt for quotes but I'm positive D.J always puts in the "just cause" bit. I also picked up something interesting from his last interview with Ray. He said that the League are now calling the sto...

I thought Farsley were fined £1400 because they didn't contest it. In other words they pleaded guilty. Ah. You might be right - just been through the statements and it does state "accept the charge" which you are right could be "plead guilty to the charge". Not sure a personal hearing was an option...

Basically; It real simple to blame people. People make errors, people are oddly human actually when it comes down to it. They issued the charges (as I believe duty bound to do so). To be honest I think a majority have already left based on the letter. There is barely a board left. 1. The CEO has gone and been replaced 2. Jim Parmenter has gone and hasn't been replaced 3. The letter states two more have left without being publicly announced If all that happens from this is that...

They must go though. If you lose the respect of 20 plus clubs, how can you remain? It's not a dictatorship. Not sure that is the definition of a dictatorship tbh. Ultimately that will be down to the members to decide. As the Hemel guy said maybe it's less about the individuals and wanting to point ...

The E.G.M. letter has now been sent and it's a very good read. It presents multiple reasons why the board must go. You can view it on Ollie's twitter page.
