Re: Tamworth V Darlington Match Thread

Can you imagine the windfall of getting Man UTD away in the 3rd round....and we wouldn't have a desperate single owner chairman partly syphoning the cash for themselves and gambling the rest on the club. I recall Exeter getting Man Utd away in the cup a few years ago.....big windfall for them, but ...

Re: Tamworth V Darlington Match Thread

Anyone calling for Sunderland away or Hartlepool away (did they get through, I haven't checked?) is short sighted. The OBVIOUS best thing for us is the easiest possible home tie in round 1 because there is £36,000 on it. And we're due a home tie. Then if we get through round 1 - same again please i...

Re: FA CUP FIRST ROUND

There's a great stat in Craig Stoddart's Echo report; this is the first year that Darlo have won 3 FA Cup ties since 1988/9. That year we had three home draws and saw off Runcorn 4-2, Northwich 6-2 and Halifax Town 3-0 ( featuring Les McJannet's classy backheeled goal ). What makes this year's run ...

Too early to mention the 'M' word?

Do we have Momentum at the moment? Are we about to go on a lengthy unbeaten run (in the league at least)?

Watch the glory hunters, want a ticket for next round.
I certainly hope they do - as many as possible. More money into our coffers and the possibility some get the darlo bug and stick with us.

You can carry on asking fans to dig deep each season, or for a more sustainable future, the club need to boost its commercial income Whilst I agree that we need to boost our commercial income, how is that more sustainable than "asking fans to dig deep"? Once you get extra sponsorship, is it guarant...

Re: Ainge

He was OK when it came to heading clear with distance but O'Neill tortured him and the other central defenders. Ainge in general looked a fairly limited central defender who's a bit overly chunky and with no pace. Not missed really, we have better. Thanks LL ( and Q85) Sounds like he had a purple p...

If it’s Raj’s money they have everything to fear. When eventually throws his toys out of the pram, the money he put in will of a sudden become a loan that he wants back. Exactly what happened with us.

Re: FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round - Away to Tamworth or Hereford

The aftermath of the game has really exposed what an angry atmosphere there is at Hereford despite them being in the play-off positions. They seem to back the manager Slade but want most of the players out, including Styche, who seems to be hated by most of them. And he didn't even play in the cup ...

Getting way ahead of myself here but did anyone on this board go to Sunderland away in the FA Cup 1st round in 1987? Was just before my time but I only found out it happened by chance as it rarely gets mentioned in comparison to the Boro FA Cup game (Though I can guess why!) Yeap I was there. Proba...

it'll all come out in the wash. suspect Burns is not in the right mental state to play as opposed to physical fitness. we're also maybe not in a position to pay up his contract yet - or it's financially better for us (cash flow) to let it run down. There may be other clubs willing to take him on - b...

The ones I remember were Lucas (Raine?) a man with one of the worst jobs in the World, and his illiterate stooge, going round slagging off this person called "Reg Brearley", whoever he might have been. Think he was Darlo Chairman for a while in 1990's, also involved with Sheffield United and St Mir...

For every short corner that doesn’t go anywhere a long corner either doesn’t beat the first man or goes too long corners get you far less goals than you think. quick google search gave me this: On average, the data show that a corner is good for (drumroll ....) 0.022 goals. This means that the aver...

Very much the final day / hours, sitting in last chance saloon / EU deadline for both Bolton and Bury as EFL declare 17:00 before they expell both clubs. Typical Darlo really. Bank holiday, sun out. Against an I fancied team. So of course we’ll lose.
