Re: Help required, to clean the Arena

The pitch has just been prepared recently so looks bare for now but will be in good nick by October 10th.

Re: impact on ground capacity

Crossed wires here all over. Until yesterday’s clumsy NL statement it was clear that the governments position was still that there’d be selected trial events with fans up to a thousand, in the lead up to starting “elite” sport from October 1st under Covid restricted capacities defined on a stadium b...

He’s a good player and I like him. He will making a killing at the moment though. The modelling and appearances are one thing but the money he’ll be making as an “influencer” will be very significant. The going rate for an endorsement on an Instagram story is upwards of £5k a time if you have a mill...

Re: impact on ground capacity

Have you not all heard of the Great Firewall of China which is government owned? They can & do control most of the web connections. I’m well aware of it and having been to China about a dozen times I know how it works. As I seemingly failed to get across earlier, [emoji1787]all international compan...

Re: impact on ground capacity

You’re suggesting that China can hide millions of coronavirus deaths from the rest of the world in the year 2020? Haway man. We need to be realistic here. Not every country has the same freedoms that we enjoy. China don't need to hide anything, they just need to declare 3,000 dead and stick with it...

Re: Ground share

But I thought it was posted the other day the league have asked for the same dispensation as the rest of football. Effectively our league has asked for us to all be capped at 30% of 3000 regardless if capacity - it may be they were asking for the sake of friendlies mind. I’d assumed that was for fr...

Re: Ground share

Great news if true....fingers crossed. Surely we need to wait on the other important news first ie whether max capacity will be based on certified ground capacity or the minimum capacity of the division. If we can only have 900 in irrespective of where we play it is a bit pointless. It does put us ...

Re: impact on ground capacity

A country with over 1 billion population as well?! I reckon 3k deaths was the hourly death rate not the total! I don't believe a word coming out of China. Plenty of rumours of 6 or 7 figure death totals but no way of proving it really. You’re suggesting that China can hide millions of coronavirus d...

A BBC article on the newsfeed yesterday showed a sporting event in Wuhan I think it may have been a swimming gala big crowd in no face masks no social distancing and bearing in mind this is where the outbreak began just two months before our season was put on hold let us hold on to the dream when w...

Re: Ground share

So by your logic all grounds should exactly equal in size post lock down? Just so not to be seen as unfair? This is total stupidity by the league and may be the end of some clubs. No. Personally I'd have curtailed the league until such a time it was safe for grounds to reopen at 100% capacity, howe...

Would either of those still be necessary for a short term pandemic contingency period if it were for a couple of months?

Re: Playoffs

I see York have just put in a counter suggestion (unsurprisingly) that those teams finishing 2nd in both NLN and NLS get promoted automatically, and the original intended 4 teams are relegated from the NL. Have to say I think they have a decent case. Is it the case again that the NL have more votes...

Re: Playoffs

The reason as I understand it is that the NLN and NLS were not classed as “elite sport” by the DCMS.

The NL was considered elite so they can go ahead with play offs.

No problem with Thommo leaving although I thought DFC might have deserved a bit better than a screenshot from his iPhone and then a couple of narky digs in his statement. But from a football point of view no problem. It’s very unusual for a player to stay on reduced terms and I can’t blame him for a...

Totally trust Alun’s judgement but I’d say based on the season that’s just gone he was deserving of his starting place and we looked a better team with him in it.

1 the forward initiates the contact with the defender
2. Can’t tell from this angle
3. Get the ball but could have been classed as reckless
4. He falls over or dives.

Sorry but I cannot believe attending Blackwell Meadows with around 1300 other fans is particularly risky. Maybe keep out of clubhouse but otherwise should be fine. If we take really drastic measures too early then surely it will be counterproductive as by the time the virus really hits people will ...

Re: Spennymoor Players - Charged with betting offences

Let’s be clear, everybody who plays football knows about these rules, I mean everyone. I don’t care what punishment they get or what they bet on but if their defence is that they didn’t know about it then I’m afraid they are lying. They thought they would get away with it and wouldn’t be caught. Ign...

Trotman is an interesting one - was our best player by a country mile last season. Obviously he might have other priorities now but it’s easy to forget just how good he was last year in a pretty crap team.

Like lo says above if there’s been a hooped shirt as one of four choices then it would have won hands down. At least this way gives a fighting chance for a non hooped shirt to win. Hard to fathom people being seemingly genuinely angry about this. Weird. The board have done the right thing, it was cl...

If Scott Wilson knows Luke Trotman well enough to judge his dedication and integrity, or indeed has spoke to the club to ask for their view then fair enough.
