Re: Farsley coverage
Absolute joke tonight. First off, Farsley's stream has to be the worst £5 i've ever spent in my life. As someone else has pointed out, makes you realise how well we have it with QTV. Horrible quality. Second only to our performance. First half we had the game under control but looked half asleep at ...

The closest you might get may be Liam Hatch I think he played and scored for England C team.

Re: Craig Morley
Lots of suggestions that the club may have got rid of CM but what if he was the one that walked ?
He may have told the club he's gone as far as he can with the limitations BM holds regarding corporate sponsorship and is unable to take things to the next level.

Re: Darlington FC fightback victories
I remember celebrating what we thought was a fantastic comeback. 1998 v Sheff Utd at Feethams in the cup second leg. Should have gone through on the away goals rule when Devos scored in 84th min. We were down to 10 men in that game also, Glen Naylor was sent off before half time and we still managed...

Re: Squad for Next Season
Burn has not impressed in the slightest, still remember his efforts against Hartlepool and for someone who was supposed to be brought in with high expectations has serious fallen short. Depending on what wage Maddison is on - he might be worth keeping as a back up. I would imagine Ainge to be on hig...

Re: Hereford v Darlington Match Thread
If being relegated means Wright leaves with some of the Midlands lads, and we end up signing a few more local players who play with their hearts on their sleeves then i'd take it. Give me a choice of Evo Stik football like Whitby away then i'd gladly take it over the current crap.

Re: Hartlepool match confirmed at BM
Burn spent most of the first half stood talking to the fans down near the turnstiles. I would have thought his time would have been better spent watching the game and how the players on both sides were doing, and perhaps listening to TW and AW's thoughts. If he wanted to have a chat and kick a ball ...

Re: York V Darlington
Yesterday was embarrassing. 900 travelling fans, but the team did not turn up, simple as that. The only players I felt worked hard yesterday were Saunders and Tez. Those asking about Burn - I thought he was on the pitching warming up with the subs before the game doing some one on one work, so may h...

Re: Darlington v Stockport
My worry during pre-season was that some of the players we lost would take away the spirit of the club. Players like Brown, Scott, Hunter - they had been here for years and knew what battling for the team meant. Yes they might not have been able to perform week in week out, but being part of the squ...

Re: Darlington V Alfreton Match Thread
It looked to me that Styche was moved out wide because we could hit him as a target man, and have him bring the ball back inside, as opposed to him being out fought by their two centre backs in the middle who were pretty big guys. I don't think us being thin on the ground can be fully blamed on TW. ...

Re: Darlington FC v York City FC
Just watched the highlights from the York game. As many have said, in not only this game, but most of our other recent games we have pretty much matched our opposition - we've just given away badly timed and sloppy goals and not been able to get back in to games. The list which has been put together...

Re: Darlington FC V Spennymoor match thread
First half Spenny played some decent football and Chandler looked like he was completely bossing the game, however second half we seemed to pull our socks up and I thought we probably deserved the draw, could have taken 3 had the referee given a couple of the penalty shouts. Ferguson is playing incr...

Re: how was it for you
Pitch looked great for the stands, and seemed ok for playing decent passing football on - but on a few occasions huge clumps would get kicked up, or if someone went for a slide tackle it would really churn up. No idea what will happen once the rugby starts being played on it. Ground was the same as ...

Re: Cartman available for loan
I'd personally keep Carts, at least until the new forwards we've brought in find their feet with the club. If anything goes tits up with them, we still have Carts. Some of the players we've brought in to play upfront over the last 2-3 seasons haven't always been exactly what they said on the tin and...

Does anyone know if whilst the ground work is being done for the new seats, will it reduce BM capacity temporarily? Presumably no-one can stand where the works are being done?

Darlington Building Society
Does anyone know what happened to the clubs relationship with the Building Society? They sponsored the club for 10 years and then disappeared after the Houghton admin season.
With the current situation, wondered if there scope to reach out to them for sponsorship opportunities?

Re: Falkingham
Central midfield is an area we have a lot of players/cover and I'd imagine he was quite a high earner given where he came from. He was a great player and it's a shame he's gone but i'd prefer Portas and Turnbull in there if I had the choice.

Re: Fundraising the new seated stand
Even if the rugby club do get a share, that is incentive for them to allow us to build the bloody stands. Essentially they are just getting a payout for just agreeing to something.

Re: BBC story
I don't think the line "in each season" is very clear. That should say that the club should achieve cat.B in THAT season or before the end of the season. I think a lot of clubs (like us) are under the impression that providing they have planning, they have until 31st March (the next season) to do th...

Fundraising the new seated stand
Here's an idea similar something Singh did a few years back for shirt sponsorship. Get local businesses to pledge £5k For opportunity to have name rights to the new stand on the far side for 5 years. A raffle is held and the drawn out business gets the name rights, the others as runner up get 7ft ad...

Re: Other Alternatives
I think this would be a plan heading towards FL status https://cdn.pbrd.co/images/6donq132H.jpg 1. Build up the seated stands and add sections to either side. We know we can do this, as the stands are similar to those on the Stadium Solutions site, which states they allow for adding additional secti...

The original approved plans for BM did have 500+ covered seats as this image shows - towards the open end of the ground. https://cdn.pbrd.co/images/68jf2zRVO.jpg Presumably, to get out of this league - we just need to buy and install this second block. I don't have access to the finer details of thi...

https://cdn.pbrd.co/images/5L32U0l5d.png Version 2 with terrace at the open end similar sized to old Polam Terrace. You've got some of the figures wrong. Tin shed holds 902 with 8 rows. The seated stand holds 269. So that's 112 people per row in a terrace. You only have half the open end to develop...

Re: Other Alternatives
Don't know why we'd go for 3,000 seats like? The difference is the type of structure we have. Old Trafford / Anfield are purpose built stands. We have an off the shelf module of seats, fixed to the ground with a roof over the top. I suspect the next stage of development is the extra seats alongside...

Re: Other Alternatives
Here is my attempt at how to develop BM without knocking down the club house, moving the pipe, or moving the tinshed. I have had to guess on the hard standing by working out people per row in the tin shed and using 3-4 people deep on the standing areas. People say you can't extend rows on to the sea...

Re: Other Alternatives
I don't understand people saying you cannot remove the roof of the current seats and extend them with more rows. Surely this is only what most Premier League clubs do - Man Utd, Liverpool, Man City - all added tiers and new roofs to existed seating stands?
