Re: Darlington V Boston

I'm not going to criticise the ref too much, but that decision to penalise Jordan Watson for that superb sliding challenge near our dugout in the second half was a defeat for football.

Potters Bar v Barnet it is then on the BBC, with York v Stockport on BT Sport.

The glamour of Tamworth v Darlo was obviously too much for either of them to handle 8-)

Re: Ainge

It must've been hard to come back from the serious injury he had and realise he wasn't the same player anymore. Incidentally, I didn't think he looked any different weight-wise to last season, not that it matters anyway.

I was a bit worried about Martyn Woolford changing the game in the second half, but then he played so deep when he came on. Strange.

Yeah, I read that too.

I kind of hope he doesn't [overcome his injury in time], as he's definitely got a point to prove.

Re: Alfreton V Darlington

"Victory for football" Les McJannet pretty much summed it up on Darlo Fans Radio. One thing that was clear on the highlights was that the Alfreton player who smashed Liddle's nose led with a high arm straight into his face. Yeah, I'd have to disagree with Les there - no victory is ever a true victo...

Re: Democracy under threat.

I have not in my working life from the mid 60's to 2012 when I retired found one German I would like to go for a drink with. I'm sure if Jürgen Klopp called and asked if you fancied sinking a couple of pilsners with him, you probably wouldn't say no. Seriously though, it's obvious that your anti-Ge...

Re: Democracy under threat.

For the record, I didn't want to leave the EU at the time of the referendum and still don't, but I've long since accepted that that's what's happening. Brexit is just a noise now - I'm pretty much past caring - and I've never had any issue with anyone expressing their reasons for wanting to leave. A...

Re: Democracy under threat.

Apologies for any misinterpretation on my part, Ed - it just seemed as though you were suggesting he was somehow the root cause of all Germans' supposed predilection for warmongering.

Either way, I'm sure if you just opened your mind a bit you'd probably find that most Germans are actually alright.

Deary me, Edward - even Nige wouldn't go there.

I don't know where to start with that xenophobic Unsinn, so I'm not going to bother - what's the point? I've just had a telegram from the 1940s though wondering when you're coming back.

I'd recommend Deutschland 86 (and the first series Deutschland 83 ) if you're not already watching it. I'll be bereft when it finishes in a few weeks. Had a day off work yesterday and watched Deutschland 83 in a whole day, great series, thanks for the heads up. Gern geschehen

PSV? That would be a bit of a coup, even if it was just their U23s.

I've always thought it would be pretty cool if we hosted some sort of poor man's Emirates Cup involving us, 1. FC Mülheim-Styrum and Amiens SC (especially now they're in Ligue 1), but I doubt it'll ever happen

He sounds like Gareth from the Office explaining why he disagrees with homosexuals in the army. I'm surprised no one's said anything about the Keenan-esque reference to Dino Maamria as being "coloured" yet, which would be wrong on so many levels even if it was still 1975. Re: Favourite game + season grading

I heard a Stoke fan on the radio the other day summing up their season with a sound like that deflating noise trapped wind sometimes makes and I thought that kind of summed up ours too. At least we've scored the odd penalty though, so there's always someone worse off.

E - must do better next season.

It would be interesting to know how highly Barnsley rate him (Smith). They already have the best defence in League One and you'd think Stendel might want to strengthen it further if they go up - would we be able to sign him permanently if he ends up being released? :?
