Old Darlo Programmes

I have recently become the owner of my late father's collection of Darlo programmes. If anybody would be interested or knows of a collector who would be, could you PM me.

Thank you.

Re: New kit

I've seen the shirt and it reminds me of the ISL shirt from Brian Little's team. Glad you picked up on that as that was the shirt it was based on - it was going to be even more similar original but we had to tweak a few things Thank you. The other thing that I read was that it is going to be paired...

Re: New kit

The hooped kit looks particularly good I think. One of the best we have had and will buy next season. I was one of those who was up for a change but hey ho, I think the club did the right thing putting it to another vote with a hooped option. The only depressing thing about this whole debate is rea...

Re: Team of the decade

The ship had already started to sail by then anyway I checked online and I had only actually been to 4 games that season and 6 the year before so I was hardly what you would describe as a regular. The main thing for me was that a home game was pretty much half a day and I just couldn't be bothered a...

Who are you putting Burn, Hatch, Chandler and Taylor ahead of? Genuine question.

Re: General Election 2019

I do think that young adults that are beginning there working lives, will have to work until there mid 75's before they can draw a state pension. Well heaven help them! How can you expect someone doing a manual job to work until 75 years and 6 months old? It’s OK for fat arsed pen pushers possibly ...

Just to give you an idea of the problem Labour faced, my wife's cousin is married to the aunt of our local MP ( in West Yorkshire). At a family party last week she was telling me that she and a few other family members were not going to vote for their relative because they couldn't look themselves ...

Re: The UK as it will look in the future

I'm with Old Git. If the union is to be broken up we should all be allowed to vote on it. The thing is though that it will keep coming back until she gets the answer she wants. Boris has got far more important things to worry about at the moment. Get January out of the way, negotiate a good trade de...

I thought we were pretty good. Certainly the better team in the first half. Several non Darlo fan text me to say Thompson was the best player on the park. Hatfield also great and Liddle whose distribution was fantastic. As everyone knows we need a striker. I suspect Campbell would work well in a 4-...

Re: Leamington v Darlington

Did we take a good following that day? I see Gabbiadini was in the Sunderland team! We had half of the terrace at the Fulwell End (or was it the Roker End). Played well enough but the gulf was too big. It was the Roker End. I'd have said between 2 to 3 thousand? Kevin Stonehouse missed a good chanc...

Getting way ahead of myself here but did anyone on this board go to Sunderland away in the FA Cup 1st round in 1987?
Was just before my time but I only found out it happened by chance as it rarely gets mentioned in comparison to the Boro FA Cup game (Though I can guess why!)
Yes, I did

Re: Small clubs in the north west

I'm sure that even if Bolton survive, Bury will not be the last League club to go under, I'm just amazed it hasn't happened sooner. Perhaps it's better if Bolton do go. Maybe the fact that 2 clubs go in quick succession will be the spark that makes people realise that clubs can't spend what they do...

Re: Feethams or the Arena

Had the club stayed at Feethams development at the Polem end would have been difficult due to the presence of the Victorian sewer (which caused the Quaker Centre to be moved from it's intended to final location) and development of the West Stand limited due to the proximity of the housing on that si...

Why on earth did Juventus sell Giovinco? :? they didnt :? Re: Rolling Euro 2012 thread

I would take 0-0 now mate to be honest I think France are a decent team and will go a long way. Re the centre backs I would be happy with Terry/Cahill or Jags/Lescott but not Terry/Lescott. JT for all his faults is a decent reader of the game and actually a good centre back, but he has no pace, add...

I remember Neuer being dodgy at the World Cup, and being surprised he was so highly rated in domestic football. I've only seen him in major tournaments, champs league and the German cup final. He's never impressed me. Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using Tapatalk 2 The voice of reason, as usual.

Lahm aside who is top class, but the centre backs seemed tentative and the keeper is a dodge pot if you ask me. Think you watch a different German team to me. Re: Rolling Euro 2012 thread

Thought Portugal were a bit unlucky, despite having less of the ball they probably created the better chances and certaily made Neuer work harder than Patricio. That said Germany were the better side, the side that looked to make the play so in the end deserved the win. The defence still doesn't see...

Re: England squad - who would you take?

Roy for me picked a pretty good squad, i'd of made very little changes, for instance Richards would of been in there from the start. But I'm losing faith in him already , some of his replacements have been dreadful, Kelly and Henderson are average in an average team and Jageilka is not a midfielder...

Re: England squad - who would you take?

There has been talk of him geting over an achillies strain mate, so he may not have been available anyway.

So the big question is 4231 with Jones / Milner as the 2nd holder or 4411/ 4141 with Parker alone as the deeper midfielder ?

Re: Other Euro Squads

Truthfully, there's not many of the squads that stand out and there seems to be a lack of stellar names. Hopefully some of the arrogance that surrounds England has dissipated and we can go into the tournament as underdogs. I fancy us to draw with France, defensively frail and they play with little ...
