I loved Young’s continual baiting of the same Southport forward 😁 making him run in to the far corner of the penalty box before he picked the ball up. It was pantomime like.
Haha yeah that made me laugh

Re: Massive credit to Watson and the board

It's not completely out of the realm of possibility: with us being part time, it may work with him spending half his time with us and half with Sunderland's youth team, especially with him being so young.

Re: Darlington V Southport

Brilliant performance today, we made an in form side look very ordinary. Never heard the MOTM or crowd announced as per usual. But in my humble opinion I thought Tom Platt was immense and deserved MOTM, although Cedric Main was terrific as well. Crowd looked around 1800, hopefully we'll get over 20...

If Asante is fit, then I'd be amazed if we don't see him come on at least as a substitute.
I'd be amazed if he even makes the bench, there's 4 strikers ahead of him plus Salkeld can play there as well.

Re: Rushall tickets

Looking on NLTV website our game at Rushall is not listed as being available to watch, which is disappointing. I would have thought there would be plenty of demand from Darlington supporters to stream this game given how crucial it is. I can see that we could take around 400 fans, especially if it ...

Re: Democracy under threat.

Oh I fully understand the logic of keeping no deal on the table. But it is monumentally stupid logic. Firstly, stop pretending this is some kind of ordinary negotiation. It isn’t. It is about how our country functions post-Brexit. It is about the economy, security, trade and so on. You’re going on ...

Re: Democracy under threat.

Well, if I’d ever said that the EU’s standards are better than its member countries, you’d have a point. But as the EU sets *minimum* standards to ensure harmonisation for ease of trade, how can they be better than those of its member countries? Think about it. These minimum standards allow those t...

On the subject of employment and environmental standards (or, indeed, any current EU standards) they are ALL minimum standards - there is no ceiling. And with the way the EU is set up those minimum standards are difficult to reduce. The deliberate removal by Johnson of the two mentioned above from ...

Anything in the Political Declaration isn't legally binding and is a series of issues up for discussion which may or may not be fruitful / beneficial to one side or another or both, whereas the content of the Legal Text is binding within the agreement. Re: Democracy under threat.

To me wanting to have the no deal option is like saying “If you don’t give us a good deal, we’re going to shoot ourselves in the legs.” It’s not much a strategy to threaten to massive economic damage to yourself in protest at not getting the deal you want. That’s why I’m relaxed about no deal not h...

Re: Democracy under threat.

The new deal is a minor improvement on May's deal but most of it is pretty much the same. Some of the worst points: 1) It restricts our military action. 2) It restricts our foreign policy. 2) They have access to our waters during the transition period, and any future FTA is dependent on this continu...

Re: He fought the law, and the law won

It’s called the Supreme Court for a reason, it’s higher than the High Court - it’s the ultimate arbiter on interpretation of the law, it doesn’t make laws and it doesn’t make political decisions. It sits in judgment when asked to clarify a point of law and when it has already been through the lower...

Nope, I’ve said that the WA and Trade Deal are linked - the EU say they are linked, not independent of each other. The trade deal will not follow a No Deal as though somehow the EU will just waive the terms of the WA. The EU have consistently said that the 3 outstanding elements of the Withdrawal A...
